  1. Well, I am tempted... Like the 1655 reps, I guess it can take a Clark crystal, That will give it a sexy big date magnification. Seems like the hour markers are quite tall..Is that correct?
  2. Well , the dealers have learnt. This is not advertised as a "1:1 copy", it is a "I:1 copy"... Even with the flaws, I personally thinks it is a decent out of the box replica. One thing that buggers me is that it seems to have the fat case, as the 1655-replica has. I have ruined an otherwise nice watch by grinding down the case.. As long as the lugholes are in relative good location and there is no "date" on the dial, I am happy. Sometimes almost must be "good enough". Nice reference pictures of a 1969 genuine. Sems like the lugholes still is 1.0mm and not 1.2mm:
  3. I bought this old framed document in a Vintage-store some years ago.. Can anyone tell me what it is? The stamp is marked "Bureau of Public Safety - City Government of Shanghai". I assume it is somekind of Visa for a Norwegian Sailor.
  4. Think the bezel theets is wrong..Submariner bezel. The GMT-Master has a great varity of different dials, cases and bezels. The crown guards looks to be the same as on my 1655 rep. The GMT-hand is a thad too thick, the always do that. But all in all, I think it looks good.
  5. Seems like Josh relased new GMT-Master replicas today.. White or yellowish hour markers and three different bezel choices. Rolex GMT-Master 1675 at Josh I am not an expert, but lug holes position looks good. Is this a new model, or just "relaunch" of an old...?
  6. Seems to be a nice read for the weekend. I have not seen this before, thanks! :-)
  7. The PO and the Chronomat Evo are both excellent, yet very different. The PO is simpler and easier. The BCE is more "vintage". I have had both, enjoyed them, and sold them.. I miss both.. The Ebel is/was an odd choice. No doubt a good replication, but the design did not do anything for me.
  8. Good stuff coming in. Looking forward to see the results. Maybe it is the time to buy a SuperduperFranken. (All the other noise in this thread, I just ignore.)

    1675

Very interesting work! Thanks for the details and excellent photos.
  10. Thanks for the great review! I look forward to when they get out the bracelet for this model.
  11. Excellent review! It is nice to see good reviews of some unusual watches. Agree that the stick-on logo on the rotor is the "cheapest" part of the watch.. There are so many nicely engraved 7750-rotors, and even the 2836-powered TAG Carreras with glass casebacks have engraved rotors..
  12. Thats a nice one.. I have seen some decent reps of this model before, however this one looks a cut above. The Porsche Design watches are kind of "sleepers" in the rep world, good replicas but not that popular.
  13. Well, I think I stick to my old Silix-6263, with modded subdial. Honestly, I am hard pushed to see the "asymmetrical pushers". The dial is by far the biggest tell for me. This is my 6263, about four years old. The ST19 is a beautiful movement.
  14. ASCIWhite: if you are still looking for a watchsmith. There is a rep-friendly watch smith in Stavanger, Østervåg. The watch maker is probably in his seventies. A nice guy, but it takes a long turnaroundtime. Quite a vintage storefront... He still has a couple of leftover NOS 80-90ties quartz watches on display. I remember those from my childhood.
  15. Thanks for the hard work. Will make an extra donation.
  16. www.elitedealseeker.com is also a good tool for searching several watch sales forums. The watchrecon site seems a bit fancier though. Thanks for the tip! Good luck!
  17. Try Aobobuy.com Good selection of decent jeans. They wear quicker than most other jeans I have had, though.
  18. Well, in one sense it is more "correct" since it is a non-coaxial movement.. The Chinese rep makers never stop surprising, that is part of the fun with this hobby. Not a bad watch as it is. Good looking! This version can be known as the 42UPO_NCOX
  19. Good Omega Chrono reps is easy to find. The old SMP "Bond" chronograph and the Speedmaster Date are both as good as they come. ( Even though the Speedy date has happy feets) These new PO Chronos also looks promising. Just shame about the sunken date.
  20. Beautiful watch. Nice to see something out of the ordinary. The movement finish looks excellent. Silver with rose-polish is so much better looking than the plain golden movements.
  21. Some years ago, Trustytime actually sold a decent replica of a vintage Heuer Manhattan Chronosplit, one of the first digital/ analog watches.. Strange watch.. It was only available for a short time. When I decided to buy one, they were gone. There are also replicas of the modern reissues of Carrera, Monza and Monacos with the "Heuer-logo" on the dial. These are discontinued from TH. I have never seen an Autavia replica, though..
  22. Several years ago, I bought some watches from Jimka through eBay. Good communication and service. I am not sure that it is the same guy who runs the business today. Today, I would rather buy the same decent, budget replicas from watcheden.com or Aobobuy. edit ( wow, that was my post nr 1500! )
  23. Nice piece! There are quite a few good options on the vintage Rollie scene these days! What happened with the 1675 you had for sale, it is sold?
  24. Great! I am happy with My U1 replica, even though it does not see that much wrist time. I will wear it tomorrow, thanks to this review!
