  1. Congratulations on your Speedy! There are quite a few cheap replicas which have "quality feeling", even though they are not accurate replicas. If you decide to go for the manual wind Seagull option, the subdial@six will follow the main hour hand. The modification of Freezing the subdial at 6 is something you can take on yourself if you feel confident. There was a tutorial on it, but I think it got lost in a forum reconstruction.
  2. Weird stuff.. Tim: You might want to remove your full name from the emails you have posted in this tread.
  3. I have also encountered a rep with similar marks between the lugs. It was a Sinn U1 with a "3". The watch runs well, but the threads were stripped after only a month. I dthink this is only a QC-mark or similar.
  4. Interestingly, Josh has put out genuinde vs replica comparison pictures, and also a qc-picture example. Seems like the dealers are starting to take into account the need for "real life" pictures. Thats good! I am on the fence about this.. I have had the itch for a nice Explorer II for years, but never got around to it. "QC-picture example" Does the hour-hand look thicker and more gen-like in the QC-picture, just as in Nix' excellent pictures? The old Noob Explorer II had a gigantic crown. I remember that was the reason I never bought one.
  5. That was the old days.. Remember Watchtrader.. Wasn't it started to take the trading sections out of the regual forums?
  6. Time to revive this excellent post.. :-) I was searching for reviews of the Sinn U1, to update my "Top Bargain buys thread" and came across this post... There are far between exciting posts like this today. People are busy:-(
  7. The Sinn replicas came out in 2011? It was kind of surprising! Maybe Tutima is next year! Would love a Tutima military or a Jaeger le Coultre Reverso! There are some quite nice Longines and Rado replicas out there.. if you want to step off the beaten track.
  8. I am sure Domi does great work. I have been in contact with Domi regarding service. As Norway is outside EU, he prefer to have the watches shipped from inside EU to avoid customs hassle.. So Norwegians who would like to use Domi must take a trip to Sweden, Denmark or another EU country. Also, you must fresh up your German or Italian to communicate with him.
  9. Hmm, seems like I jumped too fast. The double bridge over the balance wheel and the engravings fooled me.. Sorry about that.
  10. ** Edit: It is not a 3186 copy.** Puretime has launched a Gmt-master II with a clone 3186! http://www.puretimew...-2011-12-14-02/ Seems like the gmt-hand is at the bottom of the stack. No further details yet...
  11. Hmm.. I did not see that coming! A new version of the old Explorer II! Black hour markers.. slim and nice GMT-hand... small crown.. no rehaut engravings... Looks good. The date font and dial prints looks not very sharp, but it might be the pictures.. The date window position, bezel engravings and the discussions about whether this will accept gen parts I leave to the experts. Thanks for the tip. Guess I have to do some research, might have found a way to spend the cash on my PayPal account.
  12. That Glycince Airman is cool, however it has a 24-hour movement, will not be easy to replicate? On my wishlist I have the original Omega Speedmaster and the Tag Heuer Monaco.
  13. Good old fashioned watchmakers are few and far between. :-(
  14. Welcome to RWG! Mrs King at Kingshowbox should be trustworthy. The store has been aroung for several years, but does not appear to be among the most used dealers. Have not heard anything negative about her.. I think I bought a watch there somewhere back in 2005/2006. The store is still listed in the Trusted dealers section on RWG: http://www.rwg.cc/forum/230-watches-clothing-accessories/ Stick to these, and you should be fine. Several of them might have the Monaco. Nice watch. It is an uncommon model. I am still waiting for a nice rep of the ordinary Monaco.
  15. There are a lot of links in this thread on WUS. Trouble is that most pages are in Chinese.... There are even some legitimate watches using the Chinese 7750, so I guess that the patent rights have expired (just like Sellita producing the ETA2824 clones)?
  16. Interesting, I have not seen Andrews versions. I assume it is the same watch, even the Serial Number on the caseback is the same.. The mention of a 44x15mm case must be wrong.. The Mark XV version replica has been on the market for a few years, but never been a big seller.. The UTC-caseback is all wrong.. UTC is the designation for a second timezone (GMT) and is wrong for the regular XV. There was a version with an UTC.
  17. Picture from Wednesday, but have been wearing my Mark XVI rep the whole week. First flight wearing the Pilot watch, departure with SAS flight 4047 from OSL Gardemoen, gate 23.
  18. The next big thing might well be Rattrapante. The Chinese has manufactured Tourbillions, 7750 with day and central date, 7750 with GMT-functions and even the 3135-movement.
  19. Cool watches. The company was started by employees from Panerai? Are these gens? I am aware that there exists a rep of the Millimetri.
  20. Some wrist shots. This watch calls for digging out my small collection of flight stuff and make some vintage pictures. The wide angle lens makes the watch appear bigger than it is, but I allow myself some artistic freedom. This is a true Big Pilot watch.. Some old flight goggles.
  21. If you have to ask, you cant afford! It is 238 USD plus shipping from Puretime.com There is no bracelet version yet. I am unsure whether the 3717 braceleyt is a straight fit, but I assume not.
  22. Great review. I read this over at RepGeek. Thanks for posting it at RWG.
  23. More "flight-entertainment".. :-)
