  1. Cool watch. It differs from most other designs. Wear it well!
  2. Nice watch for the money. Certainly more "exclusive" than a 90 USD Submariner. I was attracted to the "Aeromatic 1912" and "Tauchmeister" brands when my interest in watches started.. They are "German" brands..
  3. Looks ok. I prefer the Sinn U2 though, like the sword hands, GMT-complication and busier dial. The gen U1 is 44mm wide, 14.35mm thick and uses the ETA 2824-2. The design of the hands and hour markers on the U1 is said to mimic a head-on view of a submarine. It is quite cool that both Sinn-replicas have replicated the green "Viton o-ring" of the gens. Viton o-rings are better, but also a bit cheaper than the Nitril o-rings normally used in watches. There is a great comparison of the Sinn U1 and U2 available from the Watch Time Print Archive, just search for Sinn. U1 at Perfect Clones

    Mark XVI

Congratulations! Before I clicked on the post, I thought you meant this newly released rep.. http://www.watcheden.com/iwc-mark-xvi-automatic-pvd-case-with-silver-dial-18k-plated-gold-movement-i-37663-p-1.html"]Mark XVI
  5. The Tag Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph, along with its "Indy 500" brother are among the best quartz-replicas around. Seems like many reps are using the same ETA-quartz as the gen. This Vintage Heuer Quartz-replica was available some years ago.. I kind of regret that I did not pick one up... Weird watch to replicate! The X-33 is a decent watch for the price. I think it might still available from some dealers? Breitling Emergency and Aerospace.. Seems we are still waiting.. However, the caseback looks cool and there is a compass inside the antenna!
  6. , I also spotted the Speedmaster on his wrist in that movie! I am in a Speedmaster-mode at the moment.. I have had a late sixties "Speedmaster Mark II" and the "reduced Speedmaster". The Mark II was stolen three years ago, and I sold the reduced. Some weeks ago, the police called to say that they had recovered some items which were stolen, but the Speedy was not among them. Then I realized that I really missed the Speedy. Then Pugwash posted the nice pictures of his recent purchase, and I started to see Speedmasters everywhere! I rather like the "Mark-series" of the Speedmasters. The Mk III, Mk IV and Mk 4.5 have a more complicated movement and a calendar.. Just have to make a decision. By the way, lovely rep you have. It is nice that the genunie caseback fits on the case. Wear it well!
  7. I emailed with Ruby ( nicereplica.com). She can also get it, about the same price as the others (15 USD less). I asked her to look for the version with correct seconds hand.
  8. Very fascinating read. The world has really opened up the last decades. China must be sure be an interesting country to visit!
  9. Ah.. The Austin Allegro. Here in Vanden Plas version. Thats a classic! My mum had one of these in the early nineties. Actually a comfortable car. Nevertheless, the Austin Princess was British Leylands finest hour... No "ugly car" thread is complete without an Ford Edsel!
  10. Great review, I think the U2 has made it to the top of my "to buy" list! One thing, I see you writes under "Gen specifications" that is has a 2836-2 movement. I remember to have read that the gen uses a 2892 movement, which is a true GMT-movement.
  11. Lovely watch! These seventies Breitlings are something special.
  12. Well, this thread has gone off topic.. Still, it is entertaining. Neil/ TTK.. While he was fair with me, and a source of entertainment, I fully supported the decision to ban him from this board. Wish him all well, though. It brings a smile to my face when I think about the watches he sent to me in Norway was posted from "Ole Bull" in Thailand.. (Ole Bull was a famous Norwegian in the 19th century). Wonder what happened with another member who is no longer posting, Victoria? Likely the most remarkable female member this board has ever had, at least the nicest nails I have seen here! THE most superposter... Remember the V vs Andr*** bashing, if I remember correctly.
  13. Enjoying my Poljot Shturmanskie these days. It is always fun to "rediscover" a watch I have not used for several months. Think the strap suits it well.
  14. I have never owned a Tourbillion... They are interesting technology, and it is fascinating that the Chinese can make them to an affordable price. However, I dont really connect with them. Chronographs, on the other hand. I love them!
  15. Interesting read. I have been around for a while now, joined old RWG and TRC in early 2005. Back in those days. The discussions where about the Submariner Crown guards, the lack of good Breitling replicas, the new Daytona with seconds at 6 and how much we wanted a Sea-Dweller with the correct thick case. A decent Big Pilot and AR coating on replicas were distant dreams.. I collected, traded, posted a lot and learned to perform some basic modding. Somehow I feel that the replica watch hobby is just not as interesting as before. The more you learn, the more you discover that most of the replicas are quite similar under the skin, "Same stuff, different wrapping". The new replicas are way better than back in 2005. But, the price increase also means that genuine, vintage watches are an alternative (and by then, more varity of movements). With the current, cheaper Sinn, ÌWC Big Pilot and UN replicas it seems like the dealers also are working to get prices down. Back when I started, I was excited whenever I received a new watch. Nowadays, much of the excitement is gone. The last replica I bought, the Skyland, is excellent. But in many ways it is "just another 7750 chrono", of which I already have six... The excellent modification tutorials on this forum is seriously some of the best stuff I have read everywhere. Along with the watch reviews and general knowledge of the members, it is what have kept me coming back to this forum. I am also a member on RepGeek, but I rarely visit that place. Just too much garbage over there.. The replica watch hobby has made me interested in the general replica trade. It is a fascinating illegal industry. At the moment, I enjoy shopping replica clothes more than watches. Well, just some rambling... I think the posting will pick up again. For me, I dont know which direction the hobby will take. Maybe I will move more towards genuine watches, or I hope to dwell more into modding.
  16. Try Bergies on this forum, in the trade section. Nice stuff and excellent service.
  17. Colorful collection, I was not aware that the "Indy" was bigger than the usual F1 Chrono. But 8 watches with the same quartz-chrono movement might be a bit over the top.
  18. Well done mod. I guess this will come when they release V2. I like this watch. Kind of different from all the others replicas. Looking forward to the first reviews.
  19. Quartz-movements are interesting! The replica of the TAG Heuer Formula One Chronograph as well as the Indy use the same ETA Quartz movement as the gen. I checked Mine The most expensive Quartz replica must be the Porsche Doppelchronograph, supposedly with the genuine split-chronograph ETA-movement, at more than 300USD. Have not seen any review. http://www.jpc8118.com/00pd10011-6320-flat-chrono-ssru-grey-swiss-251262-p-4337.html
  20. http://www.polapremium.com/ I think these guys are working on bringing the old Polaroid film back in fashion... Quite a story! I tried a Polaroid back for my old Hasselblad, but never got it to work. It really was a mess, and it did not make me want to dwell more into Polaroid. :/
  21. Beautiful pictures! I lack an IWC chrono in my little collection... however it is hard to choose.
  22. Glad to see that my old review still gets attention! My brother is still holding on to the watch, even though I have not seen him wear it in a while. I'll have to ask him next time he gets around. Reading this actually makes me miss the watch.
  23. I had to look it up. For us non-native English speakers: Etymology This is a play on words, from the idiom to get around to it.. First appearing in print in the 1970s.
