Yes, I think mine has a replacement crystal. It is not properly aligned either. I have not yet got around to refit it.

Do Quartz Omega Reps (Specifically 007/Seamasters) Exist?
chrgod replied to cenerhimself's topic in The Omega Area
Strangely enough, I have only seen replicas of the automatic Seamasters. Even though a decent replica of the quartz-Seamaster likely would sell well and be rather trouble free, I think the manufactures concentrate on the more expensive models. It is the same thing with the Quartz Breitling Colts. I have never seen a decent replica of those.. -
Cute story. The smile of the day!

I have not been on search for a 7750 recently, but I stumbled upon an eBay-auction last week, with an ETA 7750 25 jewels from a reputable seller, for 320 USD buy it now. I found it cheap, but it did not sell. This seller claims to have 9 new ETA 7750, for 300 USD each if you can live with a German date wheel. But with only one feedback ( for selling a 7750, though) I would be a bit cautious. http://cgi.ebay.com/VALJOUX-ETA-7750-SWISS...p3286.m20.l1116

No. The crown-operated quartz-movement in the Aerospace cannot be replicated easily.. In fact there are no good replicas of either the B-1, Emergency or the Aerospace. There are some half-decent ones.

Ebay is a good source.. They seem to go for about 350 USD for a good one. Be aware that the hands are not straight interchangeable between Asian and ETA. Read The Zigmeisters posts in the knowledge section for more info.

Cool to see a Speedking in here! An exiting find! Nice "Engine-turned" bezel on yours. That is rather scare on the Speedking. The Speedking was a long running model in the Rolex model line. They had a long range of models like Air-Giant, Air-Lion and Oyster Royale. When they rationalized the lineup, Speedking disappeared and Air-King was the only dress-Rolex to keep its fancy name. ( please correct me if I'm wrong) These are among the very bottom of the Rolex price-hierarchy at the moment, mostly due to their small 30mm size. But they are still quite decent high quality timepieces. From the one I have seen advertised, the movement usually looks very good, a testimony to the strong Oyster case. I have also read that the Speedking was popular among WW2 pilots. It seems like not all pilot watches were oversized, sure an advantage in a cramped fighter cockpit. Here is mine, a 1961 model, which I think was the last year for the model. I think your watch also is one of the later model. It has model and serial number between the lugs, but they are lightly engraved. It is quite possible that they have been worn away on yours. I don't wear it much, but it is a watch I am happy to keep in my little collection. An advantage of the simple movement is that service is cheap, I was quoted abput 130 USD from a watchmaker. This is an older Speedking ( which I once considered buying).

Good pictures! Yes, the Carrera replica is very nice and an all-time classic. My CV2010 ( black dial) on SS is one of my daily wearers. I have had the racing version, and personally I found the rubber strap a bit odd. It stands out from the case, and does not hug the wrist properly. Still, it looks good. An interesting thing is that all the Carrera replicas have the model number "CV2014" on the caseback, your version is therefore a bit better replica than my CV2010. Wear it well!

Rep Omega - need links taken out. Where to go?
chrgod replied to Turdly's topic in General Discussion
This is the tool you need. Might as well buy one, if you plan to buy more replicas. Watch tools are cheap on eBay, and nice to have. Every small watch shop should be able to remove links. Do not however take the replica to any high end watch store! -
A good looking watch and sure a good buy for the price! Not many square watches which looks as good as this. This was one of the watches which caught my eye even before I really got into watches, have never bought a rep of it though. My blue-dial Air-King has the same "sunray-effect" on the dial. Stunning! Good choice, Slatibartfast! Once more, seems like we have similar taste.

I think he is referring to "Bergies Belts". But, you might need to send him a PM. He can source most stuff at good prices.

Does this Tag Carrera Tachymetre look real of fake?

Argh!! It was sold, not to me. -
Does this Tag Carrera Tachymetre look real of fake?
chrgod replied to omnadren250's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
Well... I think it is real.. Actually, I have just sent the seller a mail to tell him I will take it.. I emailed the seller yesterday. Before you posted it here. Have thought about it for a day, and decided to take the plunge.. Maybe I will use the case from my CV2010 replica. The replica is really very good, but has some differences: All the replicas I have seen has casebacks marked with CV2014 ( The racing edition which was the first on the replica market). The section between the subdial chapter rings and hours markers@ 6 and 12 are narrower on the replica. The bearing for the rotor is different on the ETA vs the Asian 7750 For the black dial version, the text on the dial is more silver on the gen ( lightly more greyish on the replica) -
Just saw this ad for a nice seventies Rolex box and a gloss black Sub dial.. Think the price is ok, 140 for the box set and 250 for the dial. A bit tempted myself, but I am not that much into the modding stuff.. Have dealt with the seller before, and he is a nice guy. http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=msg...198#msg_4085049

Seems like there is a new Tag Heuer replica on the market. I have not seen it mentioned before, so thought I should post it. A nice big watch, with double AR. Crown seems a bit thicker on the rep, but it actually suits the design better.. The red on the seconds hand also seems a bit rough. Is this the first Tag Heuer replica to use the Asian Unitas movement? This seems to be a special edition Carrera. Special decorated movement, with the "avant garde" styling. Replica Genuine Genuine Replica Genuine The Genuine comes in a nice box.. All in all it seems ok for a 178USD watch, even though I personally would prefer the IWC Big Pilot for "Big watch under 200 USD" Carrera 1 at Josh

Interesting. I have a SSD where the crown does not screw all the way doen, unless I pull out the crown and try several times and different positions. This is normal for the "short stem" issue? Do 2824 and 2826 have the same stem?
-
Thanks for the review! Side-by-side with the genuine is really useful! I note that the replica has circular lume dots in the squares, while the gen has filled the square with lume. It is a minor difference though compared with the slide rule markings. All in all a very nice watch, which I am very tempted to buy! I remember my feeling when it hit the market last summer! Impressive piece!

Wow.. The worlds most famous watch! :o Well, seems like it was actually found one year ago.. But I must admit that I did not hear about it then. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/mi...ars-399989.html

Welcome! I love your nickname... DBS is also a traditional manufacturer of bikes.. with a long heritage here in Norway! (DBS stands for "Den Beste Sykkel" , The Best Bike.)
-
This is the gen? Seems like the rep has the normal slightly grayish text on the dial, but except from that and date font not too bad at first sight.
-
Well.. Nice, but I still prefer my CV2010 "Brad Pitt". Its classic "no nosense" style has made it a favorite. I have never really understood the need for day on a watch.. It is just one more issue which can bother if it does not align. Interestingly, the normal Carrera has Depth rating of 50 meters, while this new one has 100 meters
-
Yep.. I remember reading about that on Chuck Maddox watch blog in 2006.. http://chuckmaddoxwatch.blogspot.com/2006/...oing-on_13.html Another weird Omega is the non-chronograph Speedmaster.. A Seamaster model with Speedmaster on the dial (nicknamed "Speamaster") http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tre...39075&rid=0

Anybody knows the purpose of the white indicator on the seconds subdial?

Thanks for the feedback. Think I will pass this one, or at least wait until a V2 comes out.
