  1. Good thread! I once checked out the genuine Jaeger le Coultre Master Memovox Compressor of a distant friend. ( This is the only true watch nut among my friends). After the initial "oohh" and "aaahhs" I replied without thinking: " The date does not align properly! Man, he had not expected that!
  2. Prices for vintage Rolex parts are going sky-high! GMT-MASTER 6542 BAKELITE BEZEL on eBay
  3. I remember reading that Hermann Goering, head of Luftwaffe during WW2 had a liking for Universal Geneve. A small brand that still exists but have taken a downfall in exclusivity.
  4. I like it. It looks much more hardcore than the Big Pilot. Have always thought that date and lot of text are out of place on a "Pilot instrument". A second timezone will be a very nice addition of you plan a second version. That is useful for a pilot.
  5. I would much rather have Omegas new contender for the Super-divers, the new Ploprof. It is sceduled for early 2009, and will likely cost about 7500 USD. A tad under the SDDS. But, neither watches are suitable for a dinner out.

    IWC BP 5002 Ver1

I guess there is no easy fix to this. If it was, the manufacturer would have done it. I suspect there are gears which run above the date wheel, so a thicker wheel will come in conflict with those. This is the reason for the similar sunken date wheel on the Navitimer 3-6-9 version. But, the Navitimer uses a modded movement, where the BP uses a regular movement, so I could be wrong.
  7. Here is the reply from the seller. Yes, unfortunately for us, the authenticity is in question, we have many years spotting fakes.however this got buy us. WE paid $900.00 and I know someone who got stung for $1800.00 I'll contact Breitling and see if fraud charges are worth pursuing on this matter- thanks- PAWNSTORE But.. The auction is still on.. This is not good news for the replica community when people actually can get away with their watch "verified" by pawn shops. The movement really looks good, so I can understand that it can fool most people. It is one weird thing with this Asian 7750, it looks as it has a "7750" mark where the regulator on the balance wheel should have been. I have never seen this before?
  8. Just sent the seller some questions.. I wonder if he is honest, just have been screwed..
  9. Really good comparison pictures, thanks! The sunken date does not look that obvious. I am still on the fence about the BP. Guess I will pick one up eventually, just need to downscale my current collection.
  10. Great review. First of the block this time also! I still wonder what movement it is.. To me it looks like the Valgranges copy, as in the Mille Miglia GTXL, sure not like a 7750?
  11. Cool watch! Interesting to see pictures of the rep. Even if it is not my taste, I wondered what this one looked like "in real". The combination of engravings and raised letters on the caseback looks good! Guess this is quite an attention-grabber.
  12. Great post. The well thought out details look so obvious when pointed out.
  13. Nice watch. Black bezel is very classy!
  14. Thanks for the info. I was actually considering the Hydronaut rep.. Have anyone bought the Longines Hydroconquest yet? (Sorry for thread-crapping)
  15. The Tudor Hydronaut replica might be what you are looking for? http://www.a88time.com/index.php?main_page...x&cPath=228 Or, you can check out the Longines Hydro conquest chronograph. That is a relatively cheap watch as gen, and might be a good choice for a young guy. It is on my list... http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...amp;hl=conquest
  16. Looks like a rather nice watch. It will be interesting to see some close-ups of the detail finish. Seems like the replica has the fish on the crown, not the "Probus Scafusia". But, I suppose it is replicated from an older model? Somehow, I find a fish a bit odd on a Pilot watch.. :/ Engravings on the caseback look a bit shallower than gen, as usual on reps. But, all in all, a nice watch for a relatively low price. The low-beat 21600 is accurate for the Big Pilot. I had a Chopard Mille Miglia GTXL rep with the Valgranges copy movement, and it was smooth and silent. Asian movements without chronograph are usually cheap and good. A picture of the gen:
  17. Nicereplica is very nice, yes.. Ruby is one of the good low price dealers, together with Silix ( silix-prime and watchsilix)
  18. Sure! Have you tried to contact Ruby for the Chopard? She has it listed of 99 USD: http://www.nicereplica.com/prolist.php?CateId=9 Good luck! < < < < On another note... I was tempted to add this 79 USD Graham chronograph to the "Bargain guide"... The Graham is a monstrous watch, which I never could see myself spending 350+ USD on... But, I bet this quartz-version would have much the same "WOW-effect"... The caseback is not as nice on the 7750-version though.
  19. I have never seen the Sherpley Speed Six before. Nice car, but like almost all replicas of a 30ties car it has way too small wheels. That spoils it for me.. Like those awful Excaliburs and Pumas. The Suffolk Sportscars SS100 replica is the only 30ties replica I know about who has about correct sized wheels. The Pembleton Brooklands looks like a fun car! It reminds me of the Citroen 2CV based "Lomax" or an old Morgan. Living in California must a be heaven for a car nut. It is not that easy in Norway.. Kit cars are hard to get approved, and the weather is not to nice for cabriolets.. I am still happy with my old '91 Miata, though. But there are usually at least one more on the parking lot outside the market.
  20. Gorgeous.... I really hope you get it for a nice price. It will be an interesting project to watch. The genuine would surely have been one of the most expensive cars in the world, it it ever were for sale.. Together with the "Ulenhaut-racers". There are some really nice replica sportscars.. I have been playing with the idea of getting a (Jaguar) SS100 replica. ( www.ss100.com) or a Porsche 550 Spyder replica.. But this Mercedes beats them hands down.
  21. Time for a little bump here... I got to think about the "Pass around watch" when I was traveling on vacation last week. Is it still alive? Seems like it got lost when it was with r11co?
  22. Fake fake fake... The rep seems to have running seconds@6, while the genuine chronomat of this version has a 7750, with seconds@9. I bet it has a quartz-movement. Also..you can just ask yourself why the seller will sell a genuine Chronomat to you for about half the normal market price..?
  23. Sorry, I have to correct myself.. I checked with the 2008 Breitling catalog, and the Ocean racer strap is available for the Skyland and Blackbird. Thus, it seems like it is available in both 22mm and 24mm wide. The only replica Ocean racer strap I have seen, the one Silix has for the Heritage, is 24mm wide.
  24. Nope... The Ocean racer strap is 24mm wide, while the SFSO, Blackbird, Skyland and Chronomat has a 22mm lugwidth and use the "old" Breitling rubber strap.
