  1. Beautiful piece... Vintage Seamasters like this are my favorite watches. Actually the first "expensive" watch I remember is that my father wore a Seamaster like this for many many years. He wore it through the dark "quartz-infected 80ties and into the new millenium. My mother bought it to him when they were engaged ( they married in 1962). My fathers Seamaster is unfortunately lost at the moment. Hopefully it will turn up one day! It was a manual wind model, without date. I bought my father a replacement last year, a 1963 Seamaster Automatic Calender. These watches are timeless classics! Buying this watch made me think about the point in buying replicas.. For the price of a good replica you can buy a cool vintage piece like a Seamaster, Heuer or two though vintage Seiko mechanical chronos...
  2. Seems like the daughter of one of the great Timezoners, Richard Paige, is selling out some of her fathers stuff. A fun ad! Sales corner ad
  3. The U-boat is a cool watch, but not exactly my style. I might pick one up just for fun. Anyone knows what the red indicator over the seconds subdial (next to the "2") is for? Is it some sort of "low on power" indicator?
  4. Great pictures! Thanks for shearing! It is a great looker, classic yet the bezel design makes it look modern. The pearl seems spot on.
  5. Nice watch. impressive that it still has the original sticker on the caseback. I have always liked this model, but I doubt that I ever actually will buy one.. Not at these prices!
  6. Silix usually gets the new replicas some weeks later than the "Cartel" dealers, but is always a bit cheaper. He now has the Skyland. Although it is the version with "half a lume" and lume dot on 12 instead of a triangle. Skyland on Silix-prime Also, the new Ebel 1911 and RO Offshore with seconds at 12. Good to see that not all dealers works together on increasing the prices.
  7. Nice piece.. On SS it looks very "Breitling-like".. I am still on the fence about this, in style it is very similar to my Blackbird, which I love. An 7750 with the updated font would be nice, though.
  8. Interesting! Well... Actually it is the best Aerospace replica I have seen so far, even though that is not a great honor.. At least they have tried to hide the pushers. If they fit the "gold on black" displays which are on some replicas, it will look much better. How is the caseback on that one? Does it have the conversion factors? Here are my Genuine Aerospace and replica Blackbird.. Best of both worlds imo.. I bought my Aerospace Avantage about two months ago. It is a good buy on the second hand market.
  9. I agree that the Crosswind is one of the most beautiful watches ever made by Breitling! Here is my Crosswind rep.. Please be gentle with me.. I bought this way back in 2002..
  10. Looks like a nice watch. A bit shame about the dial says "Calibre 17" while the rotor is the same as on the regular Carrera, with " Calibre 16"... Still, good engravings and dial quality.
  11. Good work, really appreciate your efforts!
  12. Good luck with the sale, Dani! I can well understand you are cautious when people will buy an expensive watch and are not asking for references or details about the watch. I advertised a Rolex 6694 on "Finn.no" ( Norwegian ad page) and got two replays from African residents wanting to buy.. No questions asked about the watch and they could even pay by PalPal.. But, I chose to sell it locally, for a lower price. I guess your EWA is not that easy to sell locally. I have been on the other side of the fence when buying a 2006 Aerospace from Malaysia, paying out 1800 USD, but everything went well.. Strangely, I am more afraid of selling abroad than buying from abroad.
  13. A Norwegian GTG was attempted about two years ago (in the days when "Gran" was still around), but I think that it ran out in the sand. Could not get together enough members.
  14. No clicks, and both ways rotation on vintage Submariners, or Sea-Dwellers. that said, my Bond-Sub from Silix is one-way rotationable and does click... I can switch with you if want to click!
  15. Welcome Viking! I actually have a rep friendly watch smith here in Stavanger.. But I started out letting him work on my vintage gens and built up a sort of relationship with him before I bought in my replicas. My watch smith is a 65 year old guy, and have an amazing store.. Really old-school! I think many watch smiths would be suspicious working on replicas from a stranger. They expect unknown, fragile Chinese movements with a great risk of failure during work. But, actually, few of my replicas have needed work. For service and upgrades, I rather send them to The Zigmeisterzumba. Another attempt at a Norwegian GTG would be nice!
  16. I call in on this thread.. A friend of mine has a Panerai Luminor Regatta ( the waffle dial one, I dont know the PAM-number). Ha managed to break the crystal.. Anyone know where to buy a replacement crystal? I tried to mail Davidsen, is he the same as DSN?? I am not much into this Panerai-stuff..
  17. No problem. An automatic watch should start easily to tick, as you put in on and shake your wrist gently. After a days wearing, it should have enough power for 40-45 hours. This is a nice read for a start: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...nding+automatic Setting time and date when you pick it up after some days rest will soon be no hassle.. Or, you can buy a "watch winder" which winds the watch when you dont wear it. But, it is bit of a luxury. Personally, I have never missed it.
  18. Ideally, you should be very careful when manually winding an automatic watch. Preferably not wind it at all. The movement is geared for automatic winding, and manually winding it stresses the gears. That said, yes Asian movements often feels rougher than ETA.. "21j Asian" covers a lot of different Chinese movements. Some are as good as ETA while others are ok. In general, they are good movements though.
  19. Impressive work! You must soon run out of Sub/SD models to replicate!
  20. This watch has been on and off my wish list since it came out.. after reading your review, it is back on! Very good review, right to the point. I like the close-up pictures. Finish on the subdials looks very well made.. thanks! It is a different watch. High-tech design which is well thought out, just like the Porsche cars! Black dial on black rubber looks very stylish. I hope that the new generation 7750ies with regulator finds their way into the glass-caseback replicas soon. That would make a nice replica even nicer!
  21. If I remember correctly, there were a limited run of a Franck Muller replica about two years ago, using a genuine gold case and a correctly decorated ETA 2892 movement. There has also been a replica Cartier Francise, with engraved ETA2000 movement, just like the genuine I believe.. Strangely, the best replicas are often of rather obscure watches.. As always in threads like this, I also pull out the unloved Rolex Air-King.. The simplest Rolex there is, no crown guard or date and date mag to mess up! Still, opening the caseback will reveal its true nature.
  22. Velkommen til galehuset! Many Scandinavians around here. Have fun! Luckily, shipping to Norway seems to be almost trouble free.
  23. This topic is a year old... But actually, it is news today. If anyone read "Dagbladet" today ( July 1st 2008) ... Big increase in confiscated counterfeit goods.. Piratkopier kan koste deg dyrt.. Not good!
  24. These have been out for some time, but have not received much attention in here. Some of the U-boats are cool.. but never something I would wear myself... As attention grabbers though, they beat every Rolex hands down!
  25. Great watch and story! Love the "versatility pictures"! White dial Explorer is my favorite Rolex, (at least among the affordable ones..). With its white dial and fixed bezel, it looks very non-Rolex like, still it is a true toolwatch and part of Rolex-history. I am a bit jealous. ...Wear it well! By the way.. It also looks good on rubber..
