  1. Gosh! It really looks like you guys had a great time! Salute to the organizers! Hopefully, I will be able to join in on the next GTG in Europe!
  2. It is a very good step by step guide over at RWI: "How To Fix Omega Clasps That Won't Stay Closed" http://www.replica-watch.info/phpBB3/viewt...f=6&t=25354 I had the same problem on my Seamaster Pro. Now it is secure.
  3. Nice watch. Yes, it is a very good rep. Shave the crown guards, change the crown, and it is almost perfect! My Noob from the group buy has the right 16610 sticker. It doesnt really matter since the number wear off after some months.. ( like on genuine Rolexes.. ) Interestingly, the model number between the lugs are "16610 T". I think the "T" designates the LV model.
  4. I got mine today. Thanks "Ole Bull" in Thailand. You know your watches as well as the violin! A couple of quick pictures: Nice package! Comparison with the "Super" Sea-Dweller. The "frontal rehaut" as By-Thor calls it, is much more prominent on the Noob. Also, the etched crown on the crystal is more subtle. The crown on the Noob is thicker. The bracelet on the Noob has very sharp edges. The SSD bracelet feels much smoother and refined, as one can expect from a watch which cost more than the double of the Noob. Different case styles and crystal height of the SSD vs the Noob. Since I have a Two-tone 16613 at the moment, they gather for a family photo. The two-tone is for a friend. It is still in plastic since he is considering to return it due to the misaligned date-magnifier.
  5. Cool watch! Yes, it seems like the genuine vintage 60-early seventies Chrono-Matic, not the recent reissue. Great watch for the money by the way. These are even quite large, unlike many other vintage pieces.
  6. Ahh.. Lots of Mazdas in this thread! Here is mine.. Hairdressers special!
  7. Yep.. I have had the same problem on a Submariner. It was caused by one of the cogwheels being damaged. It lacked some teeth so it sometimes stopped, but could be started again. But I guess it might be several other causes for the watch to stop intermittently. The Explorer II/ GMT-Master movement is modded, so it is often more troublesome than a regular movement. Beautiful watches, though!
  8. Same-same, but different.... Nothing new under the sun. But thanks for the info!
  9. I am not married, but I wear my MSc University ring once in a while. ( Norwegian University of Technology and Science... NUTS!) It is a rather simple ring in gold and silver. One small ball that resembles Earth, held up by a silver band, the technology. It is visible in this wristshot of the Sea-Dweller.
  10. Good work! It really looks like an old, but cared-for watch! I have the same sub, as a future project. I hope the Air-King you bought from me are kept out of the tumble dryer, though!
  11. Yacht-Master added to the reviews. It shares the space together with the Noobmariner. I have not really updated the original post in the last months. With the weak dollar, prices have gone up. Some of the watches are now priced above 150 USD. And new "bargain" watches are being released. ( Like the fresh 44mm IWC St Exupery with power reserve for 135 USD!)
  12. I suppose he is referring to the microscopic difference in thickness of the 6 and 12 subdial surroundings. On the genuine it is a little bit more space between the subdial chapter ring and the 6 o'clock marker. On the subject of Carrera and subdial flaws, one can also mention the "ragged subdials" on the Racing model.
  13. Thanks for the list of improvements. I did not know it was an all-new case, pushers and subdial hands. Great improvements! My 6263 (from Silix) actually does have plexi crystal for some reason.
  14. Nice watch! It is a positive thing that they have freezed the subdial@6 in the new models. However, personally, I find the old version better. It is a rather straightforward fix to freeze the subdial. Even I managed to do it with the help of ajoesmiths excellent guide. The Seagull ST-19 feels very good, and from what I have read is superior to the DW-movement in terms of reliability. Here are a few old pics of mine: Comparison with picture of the genuine, from "Rolex Sport watches". The crown is a bit too big.
  15. Yes, cool avatar! Regarding the Navitimer, all info is well gathered in By-Thors Breitling guide. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=12678 The general consensus seems to be that the two-tone version of the "old" 6-9-12 subdials version is the best.
  16. "Great Balls of fire!!"
  17. No price yet, on any of the dealer sites. EDIT (03.02): 138 USD
  18. Movement picture... The tiny movement looks small in the case.
  19. But actually, the lack of AR is in line with the "vintage" appearance of the classic Carrera! My Link CJF2110 actually does have decent one-sided AR.
  20. The smaller watch looks like a genuine Breitling Callisto? Breitling has made a great number of "special editions" for different teams, squadrons or Air forces. Usually on special order from the squadrons.
  21. Yes, the Carrera Chrono is a wonderful watch, and close to the gen. One of my favorites. The only "big" flaw, apart from the date font, is that the text and logo on the dial is slightly darker than on the gen. (The Chopard Mille Miglia has the same flaw). The other small flaws doesn't really matter to me. The movement is even decorated quite close to the gen. Blue screws and the lack of regulator tells it apart from the ETA 7750 used in the genuine. Strangely the watch does not have any AR, either gen or rep. There are a lot of glare.
  22. Thanks for the pictures! Looks like the watchmaker has done good work. The crown seems to be well replicated. Interesting style, a nice break from the usual sport diver watches!
  23. Just checked the IWC catalogue. 44mm case, 12.6mm thickness. Interestingly, according to the catalogue it looks as if the Asian datefont would be more accurate for this one.. There should also be a small marker@7 next to the Power reserve, and metal surroundings on the numbers.... Nevertheless, its a nice watch! The gen was made with 250 pieces in white gold, and 1178 in SS. The rep has the same serial number as in the catalogue. The real McCoy..
  24. King has a new IWC St Exupery replica out! Looks good at a first glance. The Asian movement even have the nice ETA-datefont! Good caseback engravings and decent AR also. I don't like the 001/250 serial number though. Perhaps we have a new Bargain-winner!
