  1. Youre welcome! I agree that Cartiers are classy, and not that expensive to buy used. I was slightly tired of all my "sports" watches and decided to buy something different. The choice was either the Roadster or the Pasha Seatimer, and I ended up with the Pasha.. A watch that even my girlfriend will use!
  2. This is a really good pdf of a test of the Cartier Roadster: Watchtime Cartier Roadster The archive section at Watchtime is a very good source for test/ articles of watches! Here is an article about the Cartier Pasha. Cult watch Cartier Pasha Inside Cartier EDIT: The first page of this article appears to be blank, but the remaining four pages are there.
  3. Good choice! A nice, subtle Day-date... Really a stealth-Rollie that is not likely to be called out. It actually looks rather well made!
  4. If the watch is low on power, the chrono will stop. This is normal with all mechanical chronos. Have you worn the watch for a day or so, it should normally have enough power to operate the chrono.. If it still stops intermittently, it is defect... ready for return.. The Portoguese has a reworked 7750, and the movement has unfortunately proved to be troublesome.. There are a lot of transfer gears used to move the seconds subdial from 9 to 6 o'clock.
  5. It is all down to personal taste, and how much you want to spend. Personally, I have no problem with quartz. How big are the difference in price?
  6. Great idea! His articles and contributions to this forum deserve a gift.
  7. Great watch, the strap really suits it! The stock rubber strap is ok, but it looks way more "expensive" on the leather. Is yours the Asian 21 jewels or the 7750 version? I have the Asian 21 jewels, and my rotor is silent. Wear it well.
  8. Congrats on the Explorer II. I am glad that you finally got it. Interesting news about the new series of Explorer IIs. I hope to find the "ultimate" one day. If not, I will have to buy the gen. White dial is a great looker!! Wear it well.
  9. Yes, I remember you, Bricktop.. Always nice to the newbies!
  10. The subject I remember best about the old RWG is the RWG Watch.... The LimitEd Edition "Collaboration 1". That was one of the issues that tore the place apart.. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...l=collaboration Remember TTKs comment about the money from the members had gone to new wheels for webmaster Blades Acura. The parts from the RWG watch even turned up in other Railmaster replicas! http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...l=collaboration
  11. He he.. Gratulerer!
  12. I got a Super Sea Dweller from Silix today. Will post some pictures in his trade review section. Ordering and communication was excellent as usual. Sometimes there can be a delay if the watch is not in stock.
  13. I sent my Carrera to The Zigmeister for a movement swap to ETA 7750, and somehow the big Chrono seconds hand got lost (most likely on my side). The Zigmeister sourced a similar hand, which were silver. He did a good job painting it, however if you look closely you can still see that it is repainted. You can always say it is a custom piece! Actually, black/ Orange sounds kind of cool... Let's see a picture!
  14. Beautiful watch, Lanikai! It seems like the dial is much better on yours. The concentric pattern on the subdials are deeper than on mine. Also, the pearl is greatly improved.. Interesting! I will link this in the BCE-review! I have wanted another BCE for a while. Preferably blue dial with numerals, but I have not seen it out yet!
  15. There seems to be rumours that the Steelfish and "Ultimate BCE" are in short supply at the moment. Dealers are seeling out to prepare for the new versions, which are due "in two weeks"... ( Guess we can make that about three months.) Does anyone have any information on the work/ improvements on these new models? Thought it could be cool to gather it together in one thread. I hope that the dial pattern on the SOSF and BCE will be improved, the cocentric circles on the stick marker BCE models are a bit weak. Also, the pearl on the SOSF can be better. The last batch of BCEs seems to have an improved pearl. The engraved numbers on the bezel can also bee deeper and sharper. Nevertheless, I sure hope that they dont mess it up too much..
  16. " 2 months later, you discovered that the hands were orange, not red!?" Well, I think the most likely solution will be to repaint the chrono hands. The Zigmeister did a nice job for me on the hands of a black/red Carrera. It is hard to get such spare parts for reps. It seems like most dealers dont want to bother with selling parts, unless you are a good customer.
  17. Well... I will delay my MBW-purchase until Silix and Ruby start selling them.....
  18. Thanks for the review! An excellent read as always! Impressed by the sharp crown, the logo on it was a bit pale, though. I had a Yachtie a while ago, and the smooth bezel clicks was what impressed me most. A good looking watch, my girlfriend loved it, but I found it but a bit too flashy.
  19. Better (more defined) dial pattern, sharper numbers on the bezel and improvement in the pearl are the only issues I can think that can be improved. It will sure be interesting to see!
  20. Check out the Breitling Chronomat Evolution review, which is pinned in the Breitling section. (It is also linked in my signature..) The BCE is a gorgeous replica, all dealers have it. Even though I have read that it is in short supply at the moment. Good luck!
  21. Sorry to hear about your bad experience. That must be the worst watch I have ever seen from a dealer..Sure it must have been dropshipped... I am sure you will receive a replacement!
  22. Hmm.... It seems to be short supply both of the SFSO and the BCE... I hope it is not a bad sign... I am on the verge of picking up a second BCE.
  23. Thanks! Are your SD unmodded? The CGs and the lume looks better than usual.
  24. No no, I have my share of 7750 chronos, and will never order this one. However, it is interesting to see how the Asians make their own version on existing designs. The caseback has a touch of Chopard.
  25. The supply of genuine ETA 7750 movements on eBay have dried up during the last months. But, browsing for movements, I came across this one. Apogaum with "7750 movement". I remember it was discussed that it was weird that there were no "Brand-watches" using the Asian 7750... The answer seemed to be that the 7750 is a protected design from ETA, and that the Asian 7750 was only manufactured for use in replicas. ( Unlike the manual Seagull ST-19 chrono which design rights was bought from the Swiss in the 1970ties.) Well, it seems that the Chineese have done it, and also found a way of selling the surplus watch cases... Not that bad for 319 USD. Anyone recognize this case and bracelet? Actually, I think it looks rather cool! Like the combined Tachymetre/ Divers bezel. A motor sport Chronograph with Helium release valve..
