  1. Just for fun, a picture of the 1970ties "Jumbo" Ingenieur. A big watch for its time, and a commercial failure. As the bezel was screwed on, the holes were seldom aligned with the dial.
  2. On the original Inge, the holes in the bezel is a design-homage to the original Ingenieur "Jumbo" from the 1970ties, where the bezel was screwed on. However the bezel is pressed on the usual way on the 2005 version. So, as far as I know the holes has no functional use on the gen... I don't know how the bezel-construction is on the rep. **EDIT*** I see that Seadweller4000 beat me by one minute..
  3. Very very well made review. Good research! I have also considered this watch several times, but the SS instead of titanium put me off. Sometimes I wonder why the rep factories choose to make close to 1:1 copies of some slighty odd watches, like this one and the new Baume & Mercier chrono... This should definently be linked to the Tag Heuer buyers gudie!
  4. Great review! Thanks! I agree with this being one of the very best Omega replicas. The Bond-Seamaster is also very good, but the wave pattern on the dial is for some reason better replicated on the chrono. Personally, the helium-valve position issue have I never understood.
  5. Silix has them: http://www.watchsilix.com/class.asp?page=2...id=4&aid=35 I have seen better ones, with "gold" digits on black background. If you ask one of the dealers (ruby or Silix), I am sure they can trace one for you.
  6. Great read! Appreciate the research and effort you put into these reviews! The Inge is a fabulous rep. As you say, it feels very well made, with smooth edges. On youtube, you can see the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FoJdNjaY7U... One very interesting thing that the watch in the video has not only short hands, but also the Asian datefont!! 2.23 out in the video you can clearly see a closeup of the datefont!
  7. A lot has happened on the BCE scene the last weeks, so I did a little update to include the release of the two-tone bracelet and the new dials with Arabic numbers. For some reason, there seem to be yet another maker of the Chronomat Evolution now. the "Fecce Tricolore" Chronomat Evo rep seems to be from a different factory .. with bad pearl and no AR. I also included some pictures of the new, decorated movements that the watches seems to be fitted with now.
  8. Nice work Stilty! Personally, I would choose #1, because of the bracelet. The blue-dial AK is one of my favorites. Classy watch, with a touch of sportiness. I would love to have a gen... But at about 1k for the cheapest, well used 60-ties, there are many more tempting watches to buy..
  9. Replicas of the new Millgauss are also out. Not my cup of tea. The Ingenieur fills my desperate need for a strong, antimagnetic mechanical watch.
  10. Yeah... "This is Ghostrider, requesting a fly by...." I guess the true Navy/ USAF pilots does not earn enough to buy the Doppelchronograph, but rather uses a G-shock, Timex Ironman or some Chase-Durer [censored].
  11. Eterna for me today. A fresh addition to my collection.
  12. Yes, there are quite a few new Chronomat Evos at the moment. I like the two tone with Arabic numbers. Interestingly, the pearl are different on the models. The "Frecce Tricolori" pictured here has a very bad pearl... But the pattern on the dial seems deeper and better on these versions.. Seems like there are different manufactures. The two-tone versions has the same caseback as the ss-models and thereby the wrong model number for the two-tone version. Guess it is time for an update on the Breitling Chronomat buyers guide.
  13. Gorgeous watch... Good pearl and well aligned markers at 3 and 9... The engravings on the bezel looks sharper than on the Evo and Steelfish... Hmm... Tasty! I try to convince myself that I don't need another chronograph... Ruby is very nice to deal with, can I ask what her price is for the Blackbird?
  14. A nice vintage Seamaster. Timeless silver dial. It looks well used though. As for value, there are quite a few of these on eBay, a search there will give some indications of value. The watch smith who gave you the 2000 USD value is quite far out.
  15. Well said! The Railmaster is one of those watches which I like, but which I will likely never buy. There are not many hardcore Railmaster fans out there. If I ever see a 39mm Railmaster on a wrist I will consider it genuine and give cudos to the owner... Not like if I see a Sub, Seamaster, Steelfish or Daytona.... think this actually is a good thing for the few Railmaster fans!
  16. Yes, I thought the same thing... The frozen subdial is a good move, but that text... This is my "old" Seagull-ST19 powered Daytona. With frozen subdial mod. The dial of this one was quite close to the gen, at least good enough for me.
  17. I am switching between a black Asian Steelfish on rubber and a couple of TAG Heuer chronos at the moment. The SOSF is the only one which I feel is safe to take out this rainy autumn... Even though the Carrera chrono also seems to be rather waterproof. No fog under the crystal even after a wet bicycle ride.
  18. What will happen first; This thread reaching 10 000 hits or Pugwash receives his Aquatimer...?
  19. A classic vintage diver! Eterna is a nice, understated brand with a long history. It is very scare in the US. This Airforce Chronograph on its way in the mail... to me!
  20. The Seamaster Chrono was one of few watches I really wanted, and I was quick to buy when the replica came out. However, the thickness surprised me. It felt like the watch was not properly balanced on the wrist.. I sold it, and were much happier with the thinner TAG Heuers; Link and Carrera. But, I have just bought another. Will give it a second try. It is one of the best Omega reps! In the end it is all down to personal taste. By the way, the thinnest chronos are the Seagull ST 175 manual wind powered chronograps as in the vintage Daytonas and some Omegas.
  21. ditto.... I have never seen a fake for sale at the Timezone sales Corner... The closest have been some "Genuine" Omega straps, which were marked "Made in Swiss"
