  1. The tri-compax Navitimer is a beautiful watch. The replica is very nice. As far as I know, there is only one maker of this. Too bad you have to live with the Asian 7750. A swap to the more solid ETA 7750 would include transfer of the extra gears which moves the chronograph minutes counter from 12 to 3 o'clock. It is possible, I think, but I have never heard of anyone done it. The datewheel would still be recessed, as the transfer gears is on top of the datewheel... If you want the "best Breitling chrono replica" I would sure go for an Evolution with ETA.
  2. Thanks for the picture, I have been wondering about that.. I don't think it is titanium. It scratches too easily, according to the guy who took the rep on the Subsea test.
  3. Nice vintage Rollie! These are good value these days, if one dont mind the small size. I have picked up an Oysterdate (6694) and modified the endlinks on a 20mm replica band to fit. Is yours a true Chronometer, or a redial?
  4. Impressive work! Quite far from anything I would dare to attempt!
  5. Not the worst quartz-Navitimer replica I have seen.. This is the more accurate 7750-version replica of your watch. Mechanical chronograph. :
  6. Nice find. I have wanted a winder for some time, but have been put off by the huge selection on eBay.. If you are willing to ship overseas, I would be very interested in the double winder. Probably shipping is more than the cost of the winder, but still a nice deal.
  7. Great little review with fabulous pictures, Stephane! It sure looks like a true quality piece! Reminds me a bit of the Ingenieur, same Gerald Genta design.
  8. And so is yours... As least for me.. Guess it is some eBay-problem, hopefully it will work soon. Search for "Superocean safety deposit", if you are curious.
  9. If you feel lucky... You can always take the shot on THIS on the Bay... 1200 USD "Buy it now" Suspicious "safety box deposit sale" with blurry pics. Seems like an SFSO dial, but with the older style bracelet.
  10. Yep.. Gen. Nice, flat hour markers. The easiest tell, the pearl is cut off.
  11. Chill down... The Asian 7750 has automatic winding, so during normal wear it is not necessarry to hand wind it. After a day (8-10 hours) on the wrist it should have enough power to last at least 24 hours on its own. If you want to manually wind it. With crown in winding position: Carefully turn the crown with your thumb and index-finger clockwise about 20 "turns" (from totally unwound). If you feel any big increase in resistance, stop immediately. You cannot overwind a movement during normal wrist-wear. Hope this answers your question. And.. You should upgrade to "Supporter" membership, to get access to all of The Zigmeisterzumbas excellent articles!
  12. As long as the date change behaves normal, that is the date starts to change at about 11, and is fully changed sometimes around 12.30, I would say that it is not trashed. Be careful if you wind the movement manually, do it very slowly. But if your watch behave normal, there is no urgent need to take it to a watch smith. In case you have not read it, The Zigmeisters excellent guide in the RWiki section is HERE!
  13. Ahh... A watch with boobies! Reminds me of Barbarella, but the boob-spacing is too far..... why do they never get it right on replicas..
  14. Agree! The Ingenieur is a cool daily beater. Heavy, though and with a solid ETA-movement. I think that the old Aquatimer with ETA ( See Pugs review) would be a similar solid beater...
  15. Well.... Let us round up this topic, and rather discuss the IWC Aquatimer that finally seems to be out...!
  16. Well... I guess I am one of the "silent majority" in this matter.. However, it does not really bother me that much. I just skip the posts that do not interest me. Those who have been with the forum for a while, as well as on the old RWG, will remember that this subject comes up once in a while. It always generate strong feelings. Kudos to Andreww for speaking.
  17. Well... I might have a slightly different opinion. The Asian 7750 is definently a much more appropriate movement for this watch, but at three times the price I would hesitate to recommend it for someone who might not be well aware of its idiosyncracies... A quartz-chrono copy takes a beating much better, and requires no special attention. (and dont suffer from sunken datewheel). It might be a good starting point if you like the style and want to try it out. I have seen several new cheapie-reps which appears to have the same case as the 7750-versions (Carrera, Aquatimer and Chronomat Evo). So, if you want the flash and not really care about a mechanical chrono-movement I would not hesitate to recommend the quartz-reps. A quartz which functions is way better than a 7750 which breaks down after two weeks when the owner tried to adjust the date... The cheap Asian automatic version with day-date subdials are just stupid, in my view. It is a bit like in the photo-equipment forums... A newbie asks "Who has the best cheap 80-200mm zoom" and everybody points him in the direction of the latest 2000 USD offerings, anything less is just junk... Do I have any quartz-chronos myself? No, but that is another story!
  18. Here.... http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=45438
  19. A nice vintage Omega. from the 1980ties I believe? The Omega "Geneve" series was a cheaper line of watches, from what I recall.
  20. The Inge is a fabulously well made watch. The only new in this version is the AR, I guess. On Youtube, you can see the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FoJdNjaY7U... It is interesting to see that the watch in the video has not only short hands, but also the Asian datefont!! 2.23 out in the video you can clearly see a closeup of the datefont! I suppose the replica makers were quick to put the watch in production, before the final version were finished. The genuine Ingenieur has a heavily modified ETA-movement, with IWCs own Pellaton winding system. It is a noisy system regarding to some reviews. A solid, stock ETA movement should be more than good enough.
  21. Hi Olegunnar (Solskjaer?). The De Ville does not get much attention around here. the only dress-Omegas that seems to be somewhat popular are the Railmaster, Aqua Terra and sometimes the Constellation. I guess you have read By-Tors Omega guide? Personally, I find it dull... Dressy and classic, but....just dull. If you like the Deville, buy it and go ahead and make a little review. To show what we are missing out on!
  22. Howdy, and welcome to the forum! Texas is cool. Only place I have been in the US.. ( Training course for Halliburton in Houston) Nice girls there.. Don't mess with Texas!
