  1. Elegant watch! They have used the slanted date window from the Speedmaster Date.. Guess it will not be long before we see the first replicas!
  2. Very well written review! I remember the long and winding road that led up to the Costeau.. Like you, I try to wait some months to buy the watches, as QC is improved and the price usually drops. ( I just bought the Blackbird). Interesting to see that the replica has the date window slightly to the right... It also looks like your watch has ETA-datefont? Wear it with pride.
  3. I came across this one searching Rubys offerings a while ago, and was a bit surprised that I had not heard about it.. ( 459 USD) The movement indeed look good. Is it the same as in the gen? It could have been a very tempting replica, but personally the design does not appeal to me.
  4. A really good looking watch, personally I actually like it even better than the 7750 version. It most likely has the same quartz movement as the Tag Heuer Indy and Breitling Chrono Colt replicas, with a 1/10 seconds totalizer@2 o'clock. 27 jewels, according to the movement picture on Kings site! The price seems weird as the Indy replica cost less that 150 USD... But I remember the Indy was available both with ETA quartz and Japanese quartz. Maybe genuine ETA quartz have been more expensive.
  5. This is quite a rare replica I belive... Quite funny watch, with a Poljot 3133 manual wind chronograph movement. It even has Rolex on the bridge! An eBay find from some years ago.
  6. Air-King is made with black dial. There are two different dial styles, plain stick markers or the Explorer-style with numerals@3,6,9. I don't know if the very latest Air-King is bigger in size than the old version? There is also a non-date Oyster Perpetual, it is also a simple, rather small watch.
  7. Great watch, and a good read. @Mitton-Mar: Excellent comparison. I am a bit confused that the replica on Rubys site has the white painted Omega logo on the dial, like the genuine, but the one you have has a metal logo. I know the oldest Speedies had a metal logo, but is the current version produced with both options? By the way: I have the "Speedmaster Reduced", the smaller automatic version. Also a great watch, If you like to alternate between bigger and smaller watches. Usually a good buy on the used market. Anyway, "Ev_ " wear it with pride!
  8. Yes, the B-1 and Aerospace are really cool quartz-watches. Watchmark has a new line of B-1/ Emergency replicas. Two different types. Not very true to the original, but seems like a decent watch for the price. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=69501 http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=69499
  9. That is some special cat! There sure is some dog-dna in him. Weird cat that likes to take a shower, play fetch and can be taken for a walk! Our cat Ralph says hello! He is a Norwegian Forest cat, he sure has a mind of his own. "Miauw"
  10. Cool series of pics... and a lovely watch! These are very very good. The pearl is the best on any Breitling replica. Get the Lello datewheel, and you are there! The concentric dial pattern are a bit shallow on this dial style, though.
  11. Great summary of the Ingenieur! It is truly one of the best replicas out there. I love mine. The short hands does not look good though. I think that the earliest batch of the genuine has short hands. I have posted this before, but I can repeat it here: An IWC Ingenieur promotional video on Youtube displays an Ingenieur with short hands and the same date font as the replica. Interesting!

    fake speedy?

Nope... It is a real 3510. Speedmaster "reduced". The baby Moonwatch, with automatic drive. Bad pictures though, and wrong description. A nice, but somewhat risky buy for 870 USD.
  13. No good replicas of these.. Especially not of the Aerospace due to the special crown-operated movement. ( Interestingly, the movement was also used in some Tissots) I had this B-1 "homage" a while ago.. Actually an ok watch, but far from the gen.. I think it is still available.
  14. I searched some more, and it appears that the same watchmaker has made replicas of the Hanhart version of the relaunched Hanhart 1939 Luftwaffe Fliegerchrono. Both Tutima and Hanhart made chronographs for Luftwaffe during WW2. Their recent reissues are true to the size of the originals and uses a modified ETA 7750/7760, auto-winding gears removed. The watches are very similar, due to the specifications were set by the German goverment at the time. Here is a comparison picture. Comparison picture of the genuines from Timezone, Hanhart 1939 and Tutima 1941. The Hanhart is a little bit bigger, 40mm vs 38.7. Lug style is also a bit different, and the Hanhart has asymmetric pushers and sunken subdials. Several Swiss and German makers delivered chronographs to the Luftwaffe. However, one might consider Hanhart and Tutima closer to being "Nazi watches" in that Tutima and Hanhart, beeing German companys, obviously did not sell watches to Allies as well. IWC, Omega, et al did, and very happily. Too bad the Russians could not resist the temptation to include the calendar on the replicas... Well, it makes it better suited for everyday use and fits in nicely@ 6 o'clock. Cool vintage snail-style tachymetre scale on this one, as well as telemetre scale.. Or plain dial style Caseback engravings look better than on the Tutima version. Classic case profile on the rep. Correct oversized crown. The Russians have been insipred by western makers in their watch design. The classic Navitimer has inspired a range of the Poljot chronos. Interestingly, they have also made a version with "Poljot" in the same script as the Hanhart "Flieger", this version is marked with the correct 23 Jewels ( the Poljot calibre 3133 is a 23 jewels movement). The "Poljot" version before they decided to make an all-out rep? The genuine. It exists with both brushed and polished case. Genuine snail-tachy dial. Red reset pusher looks business! Note that on this version, the numbers are cut off by the subdials, as on the replicas. I have had my eyes on the Hanhart 1939 for some time, and think I will take the chance on this Russian replica.. At about 240 USD shipped, it is worth a try. Some pictures of the WW2 Hanhart, just to sum it up and give some eyecandy for the weekend!
  15. I could not decide what color to get for my second BCE... All are great. So I went for the Blackbird instead. It is black dial only!
  16. Some wristshots of my genuines. Swissmatic... (Note the completely useless "half slide rule" on the dial..) Sold Oysterdate.. Ok redial, but glued hour markers. Now sold. Eterna Airforce. Great watch! Lastly, Breitling Aerospace!
  17. I just found these on eBay. Seems like some Russians are making replicas of the Tutima flieger chronograph. Using the trusty old Poljot 3133, hand wind chronograph movement. Logo and everything is a bit "off", but the overall look is quite good, I think. Seems like they have rotatable bezel also. Tornado.. A great European fighter-bombers.. Or.. do you want to be a graduate Nato Fighter pilot? Strange caseback stamps.. Dont know how there are on the gen. Generic Poljot crown, at least on this one. Interesting to see Tutimas repped. Maybe an ok buy at about 236USD Tutima replica on eBay By the way.. Here is my genuine Poljot Sthurmanskie. The original Soviet Pilot chronograph. It uses the same movement as the watches above. Great watch!
  18. Nice watch. I know that Tissot was a sister brand of Omega, bit of an entry-level watch as Rolex vs Tudor. Tissot used much of the same movements, and were often a bit more daring in design of case and dials.. ( at least in the 60/70ties.) Have never seen a double-signed dial, though!
  19. I am thinking about buying the Breitling Blackbird. Really, I am filled up with chronographs at the moment. But as the price of the Blackbird has come down, I cant resist any longer. I also consider a non-chrono Tag Heuer Carrera or Link GMT... Nice replicas which has not received much attention here.
  20. Great collection! I am amazed to see that you have managed to insert a gen dial in a Navitimer. I have thought about doing that, since Ebay for some reason is flooded with quite cheap Breitling dials..
  21. A bump for this excellent review. Ruby is organizing a group buy for the Blackbird. At 300 USD shipped, I am finally ready to buy one.. Hopefully, she can tell her supplier to look out for the pearl issue! http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=67829
  22. The booklets are included, and I think the guarantee paper is shown in one of the pictures.. Not very good pictures, though. An inexperienced seller.
  23. Great story, what a wonderful item to have in your family. Looks like your grandfather used it well. I love these vintage pieces with dedication caseback. They always have a story to tell..
  24. The raised Breitling logo on the buckle is the newest version of the genuine. Maybe they have altered the rest of the strap also?
