  1. Could be anything. You could take it to your local repair shop (non-branded). Where are you located in the world? If western Europe send me a PM maybe I can help you. If you are over on the island of GB you should talk to MD2020.
  2. Thanks for all the nice suggestions guys. Makes me feel real at home seeing all the trouble you are going through posting links and pics. @ Doc: Thanks for your offer. I will happily accept it and I will make it up to you!..and the winder is absolute astonishing but pointless for a hand-wind Maybe I will treat myself on one... @ Nanuq: you dirty hound dog you
  3. Welcome back. Always nice to see some old timers.... Noob!
  4. Sounds cool. Is that even possible? Is an AD willing to cooperate you reckon?
  5. Some of you may have read in my other thread that I'm planning on giving my wife a gen Rolex 6694 (thanks Hartdoc) after she has given labour to our daughter in May. Problem is the watch does not have papers or a box. So I'm thinking of buying a rep box and certificate just for presentation/ gift. The watch is genuine after all and the box and papers will wind up in a drawer anyway...... I did see some genuine boxes on the Bay but if I go for a genuine box I want the one that is correct for this model and I have no clue which one that would be. Also they are insanely expensive.... What kind of ideas do you guys have? Maybe someone has a nice Rolex presentation or service box lying around he is willing to sell me?...
  6. Wow..... Looks pretty good considering the limitations of the movement. I'm glad they took on the challenge for this rather impossible rep with a see through case back. All in all I will buy it in a heart beat if the bezel is real ceramic!
  7. Don't see it on his website. Only the group shot.....
  8. The Abyss has 3 seals. 2 in the crown tube and one in the crown itself. If you cut the stem just the right length you will have absolutely no problems with WR. The seals are very thick and tight.
  9. Parts are almost impossible to source. It's a weak point of this model. I shortened the stem and it remained WP. http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/147390-breitling-abyss-sufferig-from-weak-crowns/?hl=%2Bstripped
  10. Probably no Noob... Otherwise Angus would have let us know. Andrew doesn't have suchi a good relationship with Noob. Also poor/ no AR from what I see on the picture.......
  11. There is a different feel when winding an ETA or 3135. Even if they are both clean. Personally I find the ETA smoother as you can hardly feel the click. The 3135 winds much more like a hand wind.
  12. Did you clean, check and oil both balance cap jewels?
  13. The AR characteristics are superbe but IMO the blue hue is more gen like.... Eventhough is reflects more light.
  14. Thanks Doc. Your watch will probably never leave my family ever again
  15. Really great advice. Thanks so very much. Appreciate it!
  16. You guys with the sex... Hahaha. If it can lead to more sex that alone is worth the engraving Will look up a good engraver here. The date is kind of hard as I want to give it the same day she gives labour. Maybe the initials or our daughters full name. Still have to think about that.
  17. Thanks for the input guys. The case back it is! Will share some pics when the time is there
  18. That is the question. I want to give a gen Rolex to my wife after our baby girl is born in may. It will be a vintage 6694. So A. Do I engrave it? Or will It will devaluate the watch' worth.... B. If so what do I engrave? Name daughter, date? C. Where to engrave? Case back or on a removable link? That's for your input. Mark
  19. Congrats....thanks for all your spam
  20. Thanks mate. Located in Holland.
  21. Hmmm,...Good question. Don't think so.
