  1. Ghostface, that is quality! A work colleague told me about RWG1 a little over a year ago and I was hooked. I'd always been quite into watches but never thought about a replica other than a $5 job in Thailand... Little did I know that they could be so close to the real deal. NOw I love it, I have a few and I certainly want a few more! And thanks to ths board, and others like it I know I'm safe, and in good company!
  2. Guys, I'd love to come also but unfortunately I won't be able to. Not happy with having a 7 week old daughter in the house we're moving home this weekend, which may drag into next week knowing how these things tend to go. It's a shame as I'd really love to meet you all and see your collections of course - Next time. Enjoy, and have a couple of beers for me!
  3. Kostas, the place would not have been the same without you. You are a gent, we need more like you!
  4. Unfortunately I'm not great with intricate detailed jobs - would be a lot of trial and error involved and would probably get through more watches than I'd want before I got good results!! Well done by the way, you did a very good job on it.
  5. Although to be fair to PT, he's not the only one...
  6. This, for my money is a beautiful watch, copy of a 50's version still produced today I believe. I have my eye on one as they are not too expensive...
  7. You have a nice selection, and nothing to worry about with Jay & Angel.
  8. That's a beauty - did you carry out the mods or was it one of our trusted and talented contacts?
  9. Please don't forget to post (or PM) if you've purchased a military 5517 from one of our dealers, be very interested to know what your experiences have been...
  10. Wow, I guess that's hasta la vista for RWG(1) then.... unless the plot decides to thicken further...
  11. That is an excellent thread, sorry for replying to such an old thread (although it will be good for those of you who haven't seen it) but I was searching for more info on the 5517 military. I see that a couple of our dealers stock this, does anyone have any experience with this particular watch? As far as I can see the most pronounced difference is in the size of the crown guards - anything else I should look out for? Thanks guys,
  12. All together now... "WELL I WISH IT COULD BE CHRISTMAS EVERY DAY........." It is at the old RWG - until it's down for ever of course....
  13. I just had a look actually for the first time in weeks and it appears that we finally have to wave godbye to our old home. Even more thanks I guess go out to the people who had the foresight to make this happen.
  14. That is one of the worst (if not the worst) Omega I know of. Not for me.
  15. If you're in any doubt as to where to look, don't mistt Veni12's signature...
  16. It's nice, most Pam's are superb, exquisite in fact, but I prefer the simple one's to be perfectly honest. Having said that I wouldn't say no in a million years!
  17. I realise that it's already been said but Jay & Angel are great to deal with and their watches are top class. I have an Omega SMP and a PAM 112H and I love them both. Would not hesitate to do business with them again... soon... very soon... want to do it now... 2 things to be aware of. 1. their website is slow, get used to it. 2. they don't always respond immediately, be patient with them. They are not ignoring you and they will not rip you off.
  18. That's pretty mental - I think I'd have to see one in person to really get to understand it!!
  19. Here's mine - apols for the picture quality, only got my crappy phone camera here...
  20. Yep! It's very tiring and quite tough as 1st time parents but baby (and mum for that matter) are doing great. I've almost completed my 1st week back at work (wandering around like a zombie!) so very very pleased that it's a long weekend!!!
  21. Well said, it isn't rocket science! Good to be back here after some absence Veni!!! Slowly submersing myself again!!!
  22. Automatic is simpler as the motion in your wrist will wind the springs which keep the watch ticking. With other models like the 111, 112 and plenty of others you have to wind the srping manually. I have both types and I like not having to wind my automatics, but also enjoy the manual winding one's (as long as I don't forget to wind them)!!!
  23. I think he's talking of setting the time, not winding the watch up!
  24. There is a school of thought that watches should only be wound clockwise which I always try to do. Not sure of other members agree with this....??
  25. I quadruple it! Jay & Angel are top notch.
