Just watching Antiques Roadshow in the UK. Basically people bring in antiques and they get valued on tv. Well, I was just reading the forum when all of a sudden this guy turns up with a really beat up loking old Radiomir! What a nice surprise!! Beautiful, with original strap on it too. Basically his story was that he bought it from a friend whose father served in WW2. The father killed 2 German navy guys and took the watch (amongst other things) as the traditional war booty. The watch is in great condition, looks like one of our guys has aged it!! I'll think it's a gen, if he was faking it he would be selling it not valuable, and that strap is like nothing I've ever seen on a PAM (or anything else for that matter). Anyway, the value (based upon verification) was set at £20,000 !!!!!!!

That's cute Linder! Here's one of my little daughter a day after coming into the world! I think you can tell by the picture that she's more of a Cartier girl!!!

Ubi, I used to hate Daytona's. Now I'm groing fonder and fonder of them by the day - at least when you post your pics! The AD I went to today had 2 - 1 TT and another on a leather strap with a mother of pearl dial. Neither of them were half as good as yours IMHO!!!
-
That's a rep right? Just going from the fact that the etched crown seems too clear, although the one I tried on today looks very similar - same dial, it's a killer! If it is a rep, whose is it?
-
Likewise.... the wife has to buy into it too!!!

Hmmm... that's a simple question but it has a long answer full of twists and turns... In a nutshell RWG1 stopped working, owner disappeared (some watches and money went missing), RWG1 started working again but we didn't know for how long, Ken, Offshore, Admin and a number of other brave souls decided to create RWG2 to get away from unreliable servers, members and owners and here we are! This is a good place, stick around, you'll like it. We have lots of great info, members, dealers etc etc.. Welcome, and enjoy!

Yep, I was pretty bored at lunch time so I nipped down to an AD near to where I work. Initially I wanted to try on a nice retro looking automatic Longines (£500) which looked really cool, but was a bit too small for my wrist, or rather too small for my eyes as I'm used to looking at bigger watches! Then I got talking to the guy and he realised I knew a thing or two and we got on to Rolex. He noticed my PO (I am always VERY discreet with my reps in AD's btw and don't give them a good look) and said for a little more I could get a nice Rolex. So, anyway he sat me down and brought out the Explorer which is a beautiful watch. It felt lighter than I thought, but the finish and build quality were amazing. It retails for £2100, and he couldn't get me a ny further discount but oh boy - it is so tempting to just slap the plastic down on the counter! Fortunately I know I can't afford this right now so I headed out the door a happy man. I guess the point here is that there isn't that much difference between our reps and the gens, but there is some difference. I love my reps, and will continue to furnish myself money permitting from time to time, but, I think I might start saving......

I expect the pictures will come once they've woken up, by which time, you might have reached a state of slumber Ken!

I'm not so sure... I think it just did...

Has Anyone Had This Happen With An Ebay Transaction.

I thought it was "If it seems too goo to be true, it probably IS" - as in it is too good to be true therefore it's false, or a rip off as in this instance. Either way I think we both mean the same thing and this is a watch forum, not a semantics, or nuances seminar... -
It must be nice for Drogba to be putting Sheva in the shadows... As for Arsenal, it's good for them to beat ManU @ OT, but if they can't beat the other rubbish in the PL they've no chance...

Look forward to the pics!

Have you searched the dealers galleries, websites (where applicable), e-mailed queries to them etc..??

Welcome Stevie, I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself here. As far as mods go, do a few searches for 'modders' in the US. Try redbigjoe and The Zigmeisterzumba in the US...

you're in good company...

I wonder how many of those have already been produced...
-
Get a casio digital for the movies!!! Back to the lume, I guess that with vintage watches it would look out of place wouldn't it? You guys probably know better than me but would re-luming a gen vintage watch have an effect on the value?
-
OUCH... Any defense? If you are innocent you should speak up and provide proof, if you think he's guilty provide proof! (although to be fair you already have...)
-
Curious to know how did you do your case distressing oswald?
-
They're cheap enough to take a gamble on IMO...
-
I'm sure I'd tried that! Anyway, thanks Linder, that's twice in 2 days you've helped me out!
-
I can't actually get into silixwatch.com at the moment - takes me through to some other search site. Anyone ales having those problems? By the way, the AirKing they have on there for about $50 had some really good reviews a while back...
-
I live in the UK and I've never used a UK dealer - not because they're not any good - they are very good! I will get round to it in good time... Have you had a look at the dealer section here?

The rep PO (4th gen at least) bracelet's have exactly the mechanism you describe above. There is a solid pin which is held by a crimped sleeve inside the centre link. However, it is quite a task to get them on and off. I wouldn't be surprised if they just found it tough going and guessed it was a fake from that. You should get yourself a watch re-sizing tool, no need to visit smug AD's!
