  1. YAY!!!!! Thank you, Bazonkers! Don't worry about that. Here is a gen 228 GMT. Looks a lot like your photo here: Again, just perfect. Thank you SO MUCH for getting one, and posting it. My 2nd batch 229 is reserved. GOD WILLING.
  2. Tell me, TELL ME SOMEONE, where has this talent gone? WHERE! Where are the Frank Sinatras, the Judy Garlands, the Jacques Brels, heck even the Nina Simones gone to? What a poor world we live in, talentwise. When Tom Jones goes, I'm burning my 78s.
  3. I LOVE this version! It's so arch. Her accent makes it brilliant! Original: "Quand il me prend dans ses bras Il me parle tout bas je vois la vie en rose" Sounds like: Hold me prawns down said bra Eel me par Cuba Jay vwah Lovey on Hose-uhhhhh Patricia Kaas wishes she could sound as good!! Remember Kim Wayans in "In Living Color" when she parodied Grace Jones? P.S.: Buffalaxing is hard! P.S. #2 11 January: I just bought it on iTunes! God, it's even better than I remembered it -- des mots de tous les jours. "Day Moe day two lay Jew"
  4. Tell me, Luisik, why did you target Americans specifically in your reply? Why didn't you include all "Anglo-Saxons"? La M
  5. Sharpie, where have you BEEN! What a great Wristcheck. In fact, though creativity is always fun, this should be the template of what a Wristcheck is. @Pix: LOL. Is the strap from TWB?
  6. I had quite a different visual of 'Bono's boner'.
  7. Family that drink together, stay together... I thought it was posed, but check out the rags on his feet. Homeless... Still laughed though.
  8. Doug, thanks for the info. You are an encyclopaedia of these types of sites! I often wondered what sites we bought from, before finding RWG (good thread idea maybe -- why not post it?). Personally, what concerned me more was thinking of 'Russian' and 'scam' together: automatically, I think phishing site, rather than bad goods. I wouldn't trust them with my VISA info, at all, so alas no majolica pottery or matryoska dolls for me. Anyway, I hate the Fighting Irish. GO ACC! @Jens: Thanks for the info!
  9. Thanks! The second most beautiful TC strap, after the Senape -- the Fiero. http://timeconnection.biz/Merchant2/mercha...Product_Count=5 Sadly, not on special for a while.
  10. Wow, cool, you posted! Good Lord, another Greek strapmaker? Seriously, though. Thanks for the effort. My strap is much more proficient than your earlier ones, so I'm sure you'll be fine. BTW, people liked the blue thread ones, so stock up! Good luck to all concerned.
  11. Hmmm. Do you remember my Lidia Bastinich post? It had all kinds of watches worn by telly chefs. There is some odd little nexus between those who cook, and those who like watches. You just don't see musicians or other artists into watches as much as chefs. Even Tony Bourdain, whose new season debuted this week, was wearing a new Breitling. And in the same episode, another watch suspiciously like the Ebel Tarawa too...
  12. A lot of people probably know this, but from what I have been told, it IS the latter.
  13. I forgot to post the best part! To my pleasant surprise, Brent included not one but two fat, single keepers: one stitched, and one plain. That way you can choose according to your accessories, like Babola and his shoes. Why don't other strapmakers think of this -- it's such a practical touch.
  14. That's awful. Can you point out some threads (xx out the urls so we don't give them trackbacks, please)? I always wondered, for example, how that person who outted Ken's Bergie shirts, got that info. Perhaps they Googled, but it seems to me, it must be a member of this forum... @Plaifender: Hola querido! Yes I did. Amongst other reasons, I wanted to be called by my full name, and leave "V" to the original. ...como estas? Followup: Ooh Swedish? Maybe Fitmic or Swemoose want to translate.
  15. I have a surprise when V comes back. He's my partner in strap-crime. Nah, it's okay. I know Narikaa well, and though perhaps he was too abrupt, not without some truth. OH! This reminds me. Be back with more shots, Ryyannon!
  16. Heston schmeston. Any Ebel worn by this wonderful Brazilian girl, looks awesome: She even makes the Ebel Brasilia look less godawful:
  17. Fair-minded as ever, FxrAndy. Do you mean, the 253 that Reklamkillen posted? Good one! But I also think that one would look very good on a regular black-dial PAM. Check out the similar Greg Stevens Toro Moro on my DSN 112: The difference is that this custom-made Greg cost me almost $200.
  18. Taste is relative. And sometimes it's inbred. Not too shabby! At least, unusual in design. I hope you're not buying retail... Quite so, but the PO is a marque unto itself in my mind. I meant more like an SMP. Good call on the gold. Have you seen the Diagono? I have two gens of that, and they are fairly unisex. Here's Trusty's versions: http://www.trustytime88.com/index.php?main...9d499aa43b22c9c
  19. What I'd like to know, is how can people sell watches with photos like this? This Tiffany's watch ACTUALLY SOLD TOO. Mind-boggling.
  20. You mean, "Weekend at Bernie's" wasn't real?
  21. I don't know how long he's been doing it for (we've exchanged 2 PMs and 2 emails, total, and has disappeared), but the strap I received was very proficient for the price. That's the key, THE PRICE. For people who complain about TC this, and the exorbitant prices of Panerai straps that, which START at $200, one is a fool to think this isn't a decent alternative. Sometimes I don't say anything, but the straps offered on these forums are not quite good. But these are amateurs, whose straps number in the dozens, not hundreds. I'll take a strap from them ANY day over a Simona or MF, because it's just for you.
  22. In a million years and 200 straps later, I think I know the difference.
