  1. Does anyone know of a gen non-GMT PAM in either all brushed SS or Ti that has an anthracite dial like this? I'm not a big GMT fan, but love everything else about this watch! PS this is an 89D
  2. For some reason, this place is ringing a bell: http://tinyurl.com/yfb9by Worth a call, at least.
  3. Will the dealer not replace the watch? These are simple things to replace, though. We can walk you through it. In fact, if you search the forum, you'll find all the info you need already posted.
  4. If I recall, The Zigmeister's input on this was "no" it didn't matter... I think it was more a question of whether or not the lubrication would break down faster if the watch was kept running constantly in a winder, and he said it would not.
  5. Mine was said to have shipped early last week.... So I expect to be waiting at least another week or two being in the US.
  6. How were you screwing it in? Using a tool?
  7. Is that a Greg Stevens on the 127, Leitztozeiss? Edit : Just saw your other post... looks like it is.
  8. Hooo wah!!! I'm in for one!
  9. Hehehe. Place eraser on edge to be deburred. Move eraser back and forth, back and forth, back and forth....
  10. It's a pen with an eraser. It works by removing paper, essentially. So it's a rather abrasive rubber. Great idea, and I suspect it'd work well for this task. Should give you the right edge while at the same time providing a lot of margin for error since you won't have the ability to remove much material at once.
  11. My noobmariner has the ring too and I don't need it. Maybe it'll work for you?
  12. Looking good Mr. Cotter!!!
  13. Dayum. She's a looker! I'll be dreaming of her tonight.
  14. Yes, it is crucial that we do not misunderestimate the importance of the War On Terror. But, with that said, our country *has* seen far tougher times in the past.
  15. Am interested in your findings as well, and appreciate the leg work you're doing!
  16. I'm thinking so...
  17. Currently using two 250W halogen work lights positioned on either side. Shooting a gray card and doing a custom white balance. I'm not getting enough diffusion with things like tupperware, tissue paper, bed sheets, etc - still getting blown areas which you never see in TTK's shots. I think it's a combination of the diffusion material and the light source(s). I'm thinking that lower powered light, better diffusion and longer shutter times might help. But, still, any polished/mirror SS finish is awfully tough. Hell even matte finishes are no walk in the park. Hahahaha!!! Yea.... I, too, thought it was an endless granite counter of some sort.
  18. Bought a ladies Franck Muller Conquistador once and she has no clue what Franck Muller is, so it was a non-issue. I suspect, that's the most likely scenario unless you're buying her a Rolex.
  19. Basically use the two tool bars... Use one to press down on the circular tab on the back side of the link, and use the other to push out the pin. I, of course, managed to bend my tool bars in the process but that's neither here nor there. More info can be found in prior threads. The topic has been covered.
  20. The 16610 MBW does. Not sure on the 1665.
  21. Be prepared to redrill a hole and tap it for the new crown tube threads. The Zigmeister's watch in the tutorial was one of the ones that don't require this, but apparently many TW Best cases (which yours is) do require it. FYI
  22. A tad dark around the dial, yes, and yet there are harsh/blown reflections around the case and bracelet. So tough to get it just right... I don't yet have what I'd consider a suitable macro lightbox either. I've experimented with all sorts of contraptions, and still haven't come close to the diffuse yet well lit shots TTK produces. I'm going to try to locate some Acrylite DF locally (link) and see how that goes. My light source itself is also highly questionable. Perhaps I ought to just stop tinkering and go with something like this kit: link. I'm not a macro photographer, and now I know why. It brings a real appreciation to the hobby though.
  23. Ooer. A new shot of the frankensub? Sexy.
  24. Let's just hope Chronomat has a good explanation for this, and more importantly, makes the whole thing right.
