  1. For some reason I can't edit, but it is a US Dollar account.
  2. Hello and welcome. Most of us are members of several fora, but we feel this is a special place and home.
  3. The big advantage of posting prices in one's own currency is that one does not get any nasty exchange rate surprises. I always assumed that that was why they chose to price in Chinese. I grew up in England, now live in Euroland, have a UD Dollar account. It's a bit like Imperial and Metric, the only people who can't manage both systems are those that don't want to. After all most of us know how big a Cubit is and that system isn't currently used by anyone.
  4. Well I'm far from the greatest expert, but constructively I think it looks very well on the whole. Your pictures are as bad as mine and a bit fuzzy. Freddy333 always says find a picture of a genuine you like and model your casework on that. I just googled "Rolex 5513 gilt" and all the crown guards seem to have less meat on them than yours. Good in a way, it's easier to take metal off than put it on. I hope you aren't upset with my comments. So if you modelled on a particular watch, can you show us the genuine and is there any chance of better pictures please? Happy New Year BTW and enjoy your watch.
  5. The kind of accountant that deserves a Rolex from a customer is the one who can make 2+2 = 1 when it is the taxman's share and 7 when it is my share. There are accountants that can make that totally legal even though mathematically improbable. Just saying like :-)
  6. This isn't easy. I guess much as I'm not a big Panerai man, one of the newer models has to be by far the best bang for the bucks watch in terms of being most similar to genuine. Best Mod? I wouldn't like to judge between them. Unlike other forums, we don't have any weak Mods. our sexually desirable Rock God Modderators deserve a joint first place. i support @Nanuq for veteran member and @misiekped as modder, but with an honourable mention to @rolojack Member of the year, well I think of the guys who are always there with sound technical knowledge and deep understanding of tiny details. @freddy333 Daytona man of the year, @sacsah1, @QueTip, @automatico, @alligoat Also come to mind. @ssteel and @jmbseem to constantly help with watchmaking know how. @hologramet has been helpful with access to genuine parts. A big thank you to all of you. However also on the list of super helpful with technical information is @dbane883, who has also given away parts and inspired us all with simply stunning builds, so my vote for member of the year is @dbane883 Dealers, I've used a few now and had excellent service from all of them. I guess my vote goes to Rafflestime simply because Ken did the right thing by me when he could very reasonably walked away.
  7. Legend can sometimes sound harsh, but he is a good guy and a very knowledgable member, take his words on board. When I wanted to know about Phong, I did multiple Google and forum searchs. There is a ton of information out there. Read it and make your own mind up, this hobby isn't for those who want easy solutions because any of us that have built or had built high quality reps and frankens will tell you it is often far from easy. I have dealt with Phong more than once and will do again, but how does that reassure you? You don't know who I am or anything about me.
  8. I totally agree. I do have all Rolexaddict's contact info including his postal address, but I don't feel comfortable giving anyone's contact details out to someone I don't know. If that seems harsh imagine how you would feel if it was your personal information I was giving away randomly.
  9. We try to all look after each other here. Keep reading and you won't stay little long :-)
  10. I'd love to see pictures. I know almost nothing about these Texas dials.
  11. Happy New Year brothers and don't forget we have to wait a little longer than usual tonight. 00.00 comes after 11.59.60 So that time can be corrected slightly.
  12. Yeah sure, just make sure you screw the buttons down if you are going that deep with it. Seriously, it's beautiful A. I'm a little jealous.
  13. I hope you didn't pay much for that, it looks nothing like a Submariner
  14. It's easy to have nice watches on the Internet. I'm doing a New Year special on these $98-00 and free World wide shipping, LMAO!
  15. I very much doubt any of them are real. These are counterfeit goods and those producing them like to keep a very low profile for obvious reasons. Stick to Trusted Dealers, all of whom can get Noob factory watches. A large proportion of the replica watch dealers on the internet are just scam sites that will take your money and disappear. Especially as someone new to the hobby, stick rigidly to trusted dealers on this site or one of the other forums. If these dealers can't get you a particular watch it is because it does not exist.
  16. @kernowLooking at the Seamaster Professionals, I think this is highly likely to be a scam site. Also no mention of what movement is used and advertising by a none TD. The whole thing stinks, have a little look mate before someone gets burned.
  17. Fixing the hand stack can only be done by swapping the movement. Correct hand stack options at the moment are 1) Genuine Rolex movement if you can find one and have a lot of money. 2) A Yuki movement modified by someone clever to be a GMT movement using Rolex parts, also pretty expensive. 3) Take a leap of faith with this new and unproven movement now available from the dealers. It's long term reliability is completely unknown at this point.
  18. I well know the feeling, between autocorrect and my dyslexia I have the makings of a world class cypher machine :-)
  19. Same advice as I would give to a man, wear whatever you like and to hell with what anyone else thinks.
  20. Looks great and since black is less loved while they are for sale new, guess which will be most collectible in future.
  21. Fascinating, I'd really like to know more about your Seiko Mods as well as seeing what develops between you and my friend Bart.
  22. I was very much saddened to read of George Michael's death this morning.
  23. I could be interested in these. Also I'd like to hear your impressions of the fossil movements @SSTEEL
  24. You are an optimist my friend. What you mean is you will have to choose between them every morning instead of just once :-) seasons greeting
