1. Most of the TDs source from the same places, there is no better TD for sourcing any Rep. The TDs are all different and have their own strenghts and weaknesses it depends on what you want from the TD not from the watch as they are pretty much standard. If you send a photo of those watches to your chosen TD they will tell you if it is available or not.
2. Never let a movement stop you from buying the watch you want. Movements are always replaceable if not repairable.
3. Don't mind the two SDs. This is a Sub thread. I have no idea how I got so obsessed by these. I had no interest in Rolex when I first joined the fora. So for your viewing pleasure / displeasure: Modded 6538, work done by @NCRich. Helenarou big_dazza modded dial. Modded 5512, this one I like playing around with. Franken 5513 built by @tripdog Franken TC 16610LV V6 originally built by BK I guess you would call this a SuperFranken 16803 built by my watchnaker, loads of help from the great members of RWI on this one. 16618 no idea who made it, it has a nice little 2836 inside. This was given to me by some kind members on RWI. Now the Ceramics. My first sub ever the Noob V2/ V5/ V5.1/ V6 No Date 114060 depending on which dealer or member you talk to. I just think of it as the one before the V6s. Hulk Noob V6s 116610LV, this may receive one or two mods. I have had too many Hulks but I have decided to keep this one. I like my Sunburst dials so here are two fantasy 116610s. Kindly given to me by @rwatch0 .
4. Some Subs, ignore the sneaky SDs that crept into the photo.
5. Yep 20mm. Mine just snap in now but I have had it over 2 yrs so the watch tends to do as I tell it to now lol.
6. Only RSC should really know and of course a lot of builders on the fora lol. If there are any tells there are people here who could tell in a heartbeat. The problem is some gens are serviced locally with aftermarket parts and the owner is happy that he has saved a few magic beans. This will turn a gen into a franken. I would however guess there are a lot of Franken builds sold as gen. They probably are 80% gen but probably only people very familar with reps or gens could tell. The mid case for a 16610 is easy as StarTime do a very convincing one and there are plenty of modders and engravers here who could make it even more convincing.
7. To get the WP test and sometimes gaskets replaced (even on brand new watches) costs me €10 to €15 with my watchmaker. I went into a jeweler once to get this done. She charged €20 for the test and €30 for gaskets, so shop around. I have used the same watchmaker for three years now and he makes this hobby affordable in as much as he can but he cannot stop me going crazy on a build or cure my obsessiveness, but he does take the sting out of it lol. As far as I remember i bought 2mm heavy duty ones on EBay and I have not had a problem since, also they snap in better than the skinny Noob ones.
8. Well going by his prices if it is engraved it must be worth at least 2k.
