  1. Those are really funky Narikaa. How much do you sell them for?
  2. A comparable watch is a Girard Perregaux Seahawk II Pro, rated to 3000m and with a pricetag of
  3. This is the famous ETA Noobmariner, a watch that some still don't acknowledge the existence of. I have this very same watch from Andrew and it's fantastic and the best out of the box Sub rep in existence. In person, the pearl does not look anywhere near as zitty as it does in some of the pics and is comparatively quite good compared to others I've seen. Wear it well.
  4. If someone calls me out, I would think it would be high time I got a new suit.
  5. Don't be ridiculous. The new watches are unmistakeably Rolex. They are still recognisably the Seadweller and Submariner respectively. They've updated the design and not altogether drastically either. There will always be those that prefer the older design, that's ok. I don't care much for the lamborghini Murcielago but I loved it's predecessor, the Diablo. But it doesn't mean I can't appreciate the newer model. Just don't dismiss something new as being bad just because it's not how you would have done it.
  6. Actually, after looking at it some more, the new SD is a terrific watch. Its design aesthetic is certainly more pointedly rugged than past iterations and the functionality is more obviously emphasised. However, I'm really starting to like it. Rather a lot. I really like the flatter crystal and the extra deep, stepped rehaut. I've always found Rolex's to be a bit girly in size compared to the Omegas and this certainly goes a long way to redressing the balance. If I could, I would buy this watch in a heartbeat.
  7. I happen to like the new Submariner. There is a certain design purity that is undeniably Rolex. I wonder how much of this negative reaction is merely group mentality? A year from now, I bet many of the initial naysayers will be wanting one of these new Subs or SD's. Change is good. It's not exactly as if the old Submariners will be disappearing from the face of the planet so why can't these new models be accepted? PS. I do think the new SD is fugly as hell.
  8. C'mon factories, let's rep this to super rep levels. It could be done with your eyes closed.
  9. The implication from Chris's post on his dealer section is that the watch By-Tor reviewed above is the solid 14k gold midlink one. If so, does anyone have a price on this yet? And are the different grades of gold plating that By-Tor refers to? How can one be sure you're getting what you paid for and not getting skinned?
  10. Most AD staff couldn't spot a rep if their life depended on it. They are salespeople not WIS. I know from experience how clueless they can be. The only ones in an AD that might spot a rep are the managers or the watchmaker out back.
  11. Making it a quartz is like cheating. You could pretty much do anything with electronics and a battery. If those complications were mechanical, we're in Patek territory. That's why Patek are Patek and Citizen are, well....Citizen.
  12. Has the Mil Sub 5513 ever been repped? If so, does anyone have one or knows where I can get one? I've seen the standard 5513 reps doing the rounds but none of the SBS versions with the correct hands.
  13. It's a Gianni Agnelli affectation that some fashionistas have adopted because they think it's 'cool'. Little do they know that the only reason why Agnelli does it is because of a nickel allergy. Interno 8 have even gone as far as creating a special shirt with a double cuff that features a cutout for the watch.
  14. Ok, I had a very profound experience earlier today. I saw owdeguy's Breitling Chronomat Vitesse and I fell totally head over heels in love with this watch: (I hope he doesn't mind me reposting his pic as it really is a corking shot) The reason this is so profound is that I almost never find a watch a 'must-have'. Not the PO, the SMP or the Rolex Submariner. And certainly not a Breitling. I have never been into Breitlings in any big way. They are nice watches but they don't capture my imagination in the way that Omega has. The only gen's I've ever owned and still own have been Omegas but no watch has had me jonesing for one quite like this Breitling. I can't understand why they have never repped this watch considering it's not unimpressive aesthetic strengths. Anyway, I'm off to an AD tomorrow to get me one of these babies. God help me.
  15. That is one sexy watch. I seriously dig that watch. Did they ever rep it?
  16. Basically you're saying that the Gen Speedy has a shallower rehaut? Oh boy, you've opened up a can of worms here. Before you know it, there will be fur and claws flying whilst we argue about a 0.01mm difference in rehaut depth just like with the Subs.
  17. Where the hell did you get that? I think I have just fallen in love with a watch. Breitlings are not my bag but that thing is just the bollox.
  18. Thanks for clearing that up. The reason I asked is that your association with us Rep collectors might not endear you to the guys at Panerai if they were to ever find out, even though you are 'incognito' the fact that your name is engraved on these amazing pieces might make you readily identifiable.
  19. milligram for milligram that pearl must be the most expensive thing on the planet. Don't sneeze.
  20. And you're on a replica forum?! I don't get it. (Sorry, I wasn't meaning to be rude as I have no idea who you are, but if you're 'in' with the top guys at Panerai surely frequenting a replica forum is a bit of a conflict of interest?)
  21. Either that guy is huge or he's playing a very small guitar.
  22. You mean you didn't understand what a retro encabulator does? Idiots...I'm surrounded by idiots...
  23. You could always hook up with Angus while you're there. I fully intend on having a couple of beers with him next time I'm out that way.
  24. LH, what exactly is your problem? I'm not exactly a TTK apologist and I've never bought anything from him but even I think you're deliberately being provocative.
