BT I think in person the blue anodized has a really different quality from the replica.

Curious about the coating, I wonder how well it will hold up over time and weather it will scratch showing steel through it. The carbon nitride-based treatment on the gen one is scratch resistant.

Great discussion here. I have a Seiko quartz watch with a chronograph that can measure in 1/5 second increments. It's pretty cool technology, fun to watch. It is not same as mechanical, but some of the Seikos are worth checking out. Also Citizen has some really cool designs. They don't get respect from some watch snobs, but I think the RWG crowd that enjoys the designs and technology will appreciate it.

My Gen Tag Heuer Aquaracer wab2011
World Traveller replied to vizsladog's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
How much do you think the Diamonds were worth? I can't believe they handed that to you, that is so insane. Would like to see the expression on the owner's face when you handed it back to him. -

that is the great story man!!! Stories like this restore my faith in humanity. I love the anodized blue on the gen Tags, looks like solid sport watch. -
IWC discontinues the Ingenieur 3227
World Traveller replied to Seadweller4000's topic in The IWC Area
I think watch companies are moving to designs that are difficult to duplicate and emphasize the mechanical parts and design, such as the Defy Xtreme Zenith line. Wonder if IWC is going in that direction, away from watches that are duplicated by Chinese 2 weeks after they are out. -
Thanks for the input guys, curious what you guys think of the Zenith watches? I am really finding those interesting and keep being drawn to them as the watch to save up for and one day hopefully own. The movements look really amazing.

Good point, as the recent story of the fellow who bought the IWC that had a problem and it was promptly resolved at the AD shows this is not an insignificant issue.

I'm very tempted to purchase another Gen with the big discounts I am seeing in the stores and on the net. I was in a high end watch store selling watches for 20% off list in the whole store. Here's an example on the net of even greater discounts. 45% off IWC Ingenieur http://www.jomashop.com/iwc-3725-01.html 47% off Tag Heuer Grand Carrera http://www.jomashop.com/tag-heuer-carrera-wav511bba0900.html 43% off Zenith Grand class Open El Primero http://www.jomashop.com/zenith-grand-class...204021-21c.html Any of you guys finding the deals too much to pass up?

What a great design, thanks for posting the new photos, those are very nice shots of it.

Going with the Emergency cell phone pic:

Glad to hear it worked out, that watch is a great piece. Please post some more picts of the new one. I'd like to see how it looks in different lighting conditions.

That is crazy! I would flip out if that happened to me. That is a very very expensive watch. I would want a brand new watch.

I agree, Breitling is the best! Post some picts of it and how you are going to decide on the gen purchase. -
I can't wait for the next AR run, i just missed the last one.

Gen and Rep Day Date Aquaracer
World Traveller replied to World Traveller's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
That is wild about the gen having the same problem! I noticed the datewheel hang too, but I figured this was the like datewheel font being off and not having OEM parts. What do you mean about where the gen is made? Because it is a Tag? There is another thing nobody is mentioning here is the anodized aluminum bezel which the rep does not have. That bothers me more than anything to be honest. -
Rolex Milgauss w/Green Sapphire Full Review by D4M
World Traveller replied to Daytona4me's topic in The Rolex Area
Cool shots AK, Did you take those yourself or find them on another website? This is a cool watch. If I ever get a job at a power plant I'm going to buy this watch. I wonder why they chose the green crystal for the design. Is there some story behind that? -
Reminder: proper care for asian 7750 movements
World Traveller replied to milsub5517's topic in The Breitling Area
Yeah this drives me crazy, any idea why this happens? Does the ETA 7750 not do this? -
That sounds like an amazing watch collection. The Corum one looks nuts! I would say that maybe you could buy one of those watches used from him, but since they are precious metals and hugely expensive, even used that would be a lot of $$$ I agree with the rest of the posters, until you get to know him better leave the reps at home. If you do wear some reps I would suggest "Lower end" brands like Tag Heuer sport watches.

I would be interested, great idea Dan.

Gen and Rep Day Date Aquaracer
World Traveller replied to World Traveller's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
I think I ordered it from Josh (perfect clones). I had some trouble resizing the bracelet and had to re-order a new bracelet as well. Getting the gen springbars for it were a big improvement. I like the watch but it's something strange about the AR or the crystal. I think sometimes it attracts smudges.
