I agree. TTk, are these all available? -
I don't agree with that in all cases ... I think that is very specific to cultural norms and local styles. Would not necessarily make that assumption in NYC for instance, despite your observations about 5th ave shops. Not that I am taking offence, I am not and do not have any to begin with. Just an observation. Don't necessarily think those profiles (young bucks and old codgers like me) hold up everywhere... tatoos are quite a bit more trendy here than in other places i suppose. Again, not that i partake.

Whenever I see posts on the bay that say things like " ... I was told..." i get suspicous. It is like a disclaimer.

@vmena and BKLM1234 I was really hoping someone would provide feedback on these new breed MBW's. Thanks so much.

I should point out, I am not Scottish.. I just thought this might interest some... Ciao!

As we appear to have a sizable representation of Scottish citizens and ex-pats, I thought there might be some interest in the following forums. I read through a portion of each and thought there are some intriguing posts including information I was frankly not aware of. http://grianaig.proboards49.com/ This is a board comprised of people who favor an independent Scotland http://www.wirednewyork.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13679 This is a link to a thread on a blog I belong to that covers a range of news worthy topics. Most of them are NYC related, however, this specific thread is a discussion on the pros and cons of Scottish Independence. I have no skin in this game or agenda to promote, I just thought you might find it interesting. Alternatively, if you already have an interested, hopefully these forums will provide you with a place to catch up or particialte in the discussion. To participate you will need to join the forum, but it is at no cost.

your basic vintage no-date sub.

Nice job! It looks great I agree. Dials, crystals and inserts for most rollies. At least for me.

A CAT WITH BIG EARS!!! AAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

You're probably right about that. Just went to the US Customs Home page and noticed the Dept. of Homeland Security Logo. It seems Customs and Border protection are a combined agency. Still, this stuff really bothers me, and not for the obvious reasons.
-
maybe, but it seems to me that homeland security should have more important things on thier plate than hassling otherwise law abiding and tax paying citizens over relatively minor infractions. I am sorry but this is not their job, i.e. to protect the interests of big business. Focus on protecting the citzenry as opposed to the corporate interests please. God almighty.

I made one purchase from each... Got the UPO from Precious Time. What I liked about dealing with him is he didn't drop ship directly to me. Instead, it came to him, he looked it over, and sent it. Took a bit longer but that approach will always be preferable to me.. in fact, it is a service I am willing to pay a little extra for. I am not sure if this is SOP with him, or just something he did with the UPO's. Got an Asian 21J SMP/GMT from TWG . Was drop-shipped directly from the factory. Came within a week, but I had a problem with the bezel. No big deal, I had to reset the spring and it was fine, but it is an example of what can happen when the watches are not inspected prior to delivery. I never mentioned it, and I am sure TWG would have been ok if I had... he seems to be very service oriented and responsive, but this is what you risk when a dealer drop ships. In all fairness, this was a far less expensive watch, and sometimes when you buy a watch with a lesser movement, the finishes are not as good too. On the other hand, I purhcased a noobmariner from TTK which has the same movement. As you may know, TTK does not drop ship. Coincidence or not, the watch has terrific fit and finish, and runs really well. The point here is not to plug the dealers per se, but to highlight the benefits of drop shipping, which PT did at least for the UPO. I think this should be a consideration. BTW I live in the US, and I have had no problems with customs, deliveries, etc... Best of Luck either way!!

they're all great watches, but my personal preferance is the PO

Florida Residents. Do you see what is going on?

I have to say, this is another phenomena that is unique to the US, or at least the Western Hemisphere... how is it ok to toss used butts to the ground.. even if you stomp them out.. I have to admit, I did it myself when I smoked (gave them up about 18 yrs ago) and I cannot for the life of me understand why I thought it was OK. People who would never think about otherwise littering think this is acceptable. I don't get it. -
Following the French elections, even from afar, I was really struck by how the electorate came around to Sarkozy.. honestly up until the time of the run-off, i never thought he had a chance. Interesting too that the turnout was around 85%. In the US we are fortunate when we break 55%. I really think that is disgraceful. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Beauty has been chased off by the Beast. Now France waits to see just how feral and domineering Nicolas Sarkozy will be. The lovely S

No that is the 42MM non-cousteau.. Picked up a gen while I was in HK 1.5 weeks ago. Didn't want to do it, but I couldn't help myself. I love this watch. Also tried on the Cousteau.. that is how I know it is bigger. I am pretty sure it does not come in the same color combinations (yellow and blue)
-
that is correct, the non-cousteau version is 42MM.
-
That is too bad, I know you put a lot of good work into that thread. Maybe we can call it the "Collector Misrepresentation Forum"
-
I could be wrong, but I THINK the yellow on blue dial is a different model watch... i.e. the more standardized the 42MM (non-cousteau) Chrono... The cousteau version is a ltd edition 44MM.. I do not think it comes in yellow and blue although newer versions may feature different colored dials.
