It Looks Like PAM's Are The "It" Watch in the Hamptons
eddhead replied to Watchmeister's topic in General Discussion
I actually see quite of few of them on the streets of NY. In fact several people in my building have PAMs as well. If the WM is the one you showed me, I must say it is a gorgeous watch. -

@ pug I have noticed a decline in your posts lately and was wondering what was up. hang in there, your contributions are valued. I am afraid we may have lost a few friends along the way though for same or similar reasons. Wonder whatever happened to TJ Gladeraider?

Canal Street - shitty Watches? I dont think so!
eddhead replied to slay's topic in General Discussion
you mean like that first one we went to on weds. nite with FWATCH?? Honestly, when I shop there it is usually with the g/f looking for bags for people in town for the w/e or for family. .. i have said this for some time now.. most vendors carry two grades of goods. if you look like you know what you are doing, and are not a police officer, and especially if you speak mandorin or cantonese, you can get to the good stuff which is usuall hidden away behind a fake wall, or a couple of blocks off site. been there done that. They tend to be very high quality LV's, channel's, coach's etc... but i have never really found a vendor who offers quality watches. best i saw was on mott street where i found an asian 21j rolex presidential i needed for a friend for 65. I think I talked him down to $50 or so. We had to ask for the rolex's because they were not in open site. The guy most have thought I was a cop, because he asked my g/f in mandorin "what is he" (talk about a loaded qeustion) It was OK for $50, but nothing special. I am curious to hear about what you bought and where you found it. -
somehow i missed this yesterday, but i have to tell you i am stunned. i do not have words to do it justice.. just gorgeous.

indeed. notwithstanding the reliablity of the movement, why not just call it a Sellita .. why call it an ETA? Not to get back on THAT subject again, but jeez...

I disagree with those who are criticising this post. Look, this is an open venue to discuss all aspects of replica watch collecting. This person is expressing a point of view. It might even help the 'collectors" better understand the need for quality control. Either way, it is a perspective that is a legitimate and relevant as some of the more postivie posts here are. I did not get from this a 'screw you i am going home' attitude, just a thoughtful explanation of why he is disappointed and why he no longer finds value in the hobby. Nothing wrong with this at all as far as I am concerned. It also further highlights the value of QC before shipping which I think is more and more becoming a distinguishing value added dealer service.

Given there was only one reply to the Cuban question, thought it would be best to stick to Jetson's suggestion and have the GTG at Da Nico's. Location is 164 Mulberry Street which is between Grand and Broome. Let's shoot for tommorow at 7. Looking forward to meeting you guys!!

How much luck have you had with your reps?
eddhead replied to predfan2001's topic in General Discussion
I have pretty much followed that rule as a guiding principle.. i.e. simple Swiss ETA movements and as a result have done pretty well. I am not sure if you consider a GMT function to fall into that category.. i have two of those... one is an ETA 2892 from EL and it runs another is asian powered and it is not doing very well. I also have an asian powered noobmariner it runs very well. So as a guidling principle, my experence would dicatate keeping it to simple ETA powered movements (1st) and if possible, avoid dropshipping. -
Beautiful watch, congratulations!!

Guys, In order to secure a room in the cuban restuarant, I will need to know if the cuisine and date (11th) works for everyone so I can give the owner a sense as to how many people will be attending. If not, we can always do little italy. But if you know, please get back to me as soon as possible so we can lock this up. thanks, ed

grrrrrrrr!!!!!

congratulations!!!! ... the more i correspond with you guys, the older I feel....

OK guys we need to nail this. It does not loook like the 10th works for Ragfx so my suggestion is to shoot for the 11th which to tell you the truth is better for me too. I never heard back from Mattlarry on the steak/sushi thing. We can go with Jetson's suggestion (little italy) but I would like to propose a resturaant on Cuban place on 8th between 55th and 56th called Azucar. An aqauntance of mine (lives in my building) owns the place and promised to take care of us, and we can probably get private room. Question: does anybody have any objections to Cuban?? So far, i have the following potential's Fwatch Jetsons Slay Lionsandtigers Kruzer Oakland Ragfx eddhead Please let me know if you can make the 11th and if you prefer Cuban or Little Italy. Thanks, Ed.

well if that is true, one would think 18% of the US based forum members are African American.. and maybe it is, but my intuition tells me otherwise.

I am happy you feel that way but I do know we have scared other females off in the past with rather off-color posts appearing in the off-topic thread.
-
It is a good point. Equally interesting and disappointing is the lack of female participation. Based on some of the postings, this is just not a female-friendly site and that really is too bad.

I believe Mr. Clapton is a born again Christian, which I am sure accounts for his perspective on life altering events.

I wouldn't worry about it. I have a 17 year old neice I have been buying replica bags for for some time. Trust me she is a very trendy and fashionable girl She knows they are reps, and she doesn't care. They are stylish and look good and that is all she cares about -
Will the 10th work for everyone?

really good reviers. the only ones i have tried were narika's. his service was great and the pens were inexpensive but lacking in quality. very light weight and plastic feeling scratched easily and did not feel real good in the hand.
