  1. That's the problem! Everyone who warned people...those of us who have been purchasing gold for the last year and a half or so were looked at as being overly cautious and way too pessimistic.... then you see the latest numbers, our "Official" ZIRP (It's been effectively zero for a few months now), consumer debt, national debt... I chuckled when I saw they were going after Madoff for his Ponzi Scheme because the irony is...our nation's debt structure has major aspects in common with Madoff's scheme!!! Very well said.
  2. Oh Wow...I really, really like that!
  3. If you'll watch the whole clip you can spot the two that eventually went to work for the Federal Government overseeing the financial crisis.
  4. Oh yes...hereeee it comes!
  5. I agree, I'd buy one... will the subdial spacing be an issue?? Looks like they're closer than standard 7750s
  6. A senior VP for GE's asset management division mentioned to one of my colleagues that their internal predictions project the Yen and Canadian dollars as being the most stable over the next few years... we'll see how it all plays out though!
  7. Thanks!!
  8. Maybe not that soon but the USD is going to take a big drop next year
  9. I've never had an issue with it... http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...ling+a+bracelet Great thread on the oiling procedures used by various members...I personally disassemble the entire bracelet, clean it with mild soapy water, rinse, dry...place in a large container of baby oil in a dark room for 3-4 days (still disassembled) and for Rolex bracelets I use latex gloves to reassemble the bracelet IN the oil (sounds like overkill and prob is...but it works ), pat and wipe all excess oil, wash thoroughly, pat dry and use a high quality auto wax... if there's any stiffness afterwards I might try repeating the procedure or, worst case, swapping the screws...
  10. Indeed Have you tried removing the bracelet and soaking it in mineral oil for a day or two/ moving the links in the oil? I use that and car wax on my rollie rep bracelet and I seriously can't tell the difference in terms of how it wears.
  11. Not usually a Breitling fan but that dial is awesome!!
  12. Yes. Click the little "RWG" at the top left and when you scroll down to the collectors section and click their names, they will display the sites that they sell from.
  13. Just wanted to thank everyone who's contributed time, money, experience/gen comparisons and effort into this endeavour... in my humble opinion: -I see where RobbieG is coming from on my own watches...the modern ones are remarkably easy to read...again, no idea if this is due to the materials used, secret single sided internal AR, a combination of both, or neither... whatever it is- it does the job and it does it well. -I think what Sssurfer and Chief are suggesting makes sense... it can't hurt to double check the actual coatings on the current mags and try out a single coat internal with the coated mag...especially considering what I've seen of Chief's new AR. From the pics and the testimonials it really is colorless so coating the whole inside of the crystal vs just under the mag (and having to do the prep work to AR a small area, etc) makes sense to me and shouldn't have a negative effect on the "genness" of the crystal...
  14. The only watches I keep on autowinders (quality ones that let you set TPD's/ programs/ etc) are my vintages that do not have quickset date mechanisms...let me tell you, going from the 3rd to the 15th today was not so fun...
  15. Hmmm... I've never had an issue with my Asia 2892 copies but then again I've been lucky and we all know QC is a toss up... I imagine you've slowly wound it for 30-40 turns and then set it down to see how long the power reserve is?
  16. Industrial espionage boys...lets get a man on the inside! ...seriously though, it's pretty crazy how...clear the gen cyclops is! I tried on another GMT IIC in an AD and was amazed...
  17. Haha, good stuff !
  18. Agreed.
  19. Interesting..thanks!

Just wanna add that certain dealers can get you a V1 dial on a V2 watch for something like $300...PM me if you need a name
  21. I put this in another post somewhere (can't find it) but I did a very conservative income breakdown and basically found that even using very, very, very conservative numbers, a dealer would easily break $500K-$1 Million USD a year in pure profit....in China!? Hugeeeeeeeeeee money.
