That has nothing to do with it. She has the right to send whatever she wants and I have the right to think she's a dumb bimbo whose only doing it to further her own interests and not out of her having thoroughly researched the issues and sent the President a letter worth his time. Again, not saying she doesn't have the right to do that...she does- just saying she looks like an idiot...that might be one of the sloppiest things I've ever seen written. Listen, if you're going to send a real, meaningful letter to the President of the United States...please run the damn thing through Microsoft Word. She looks like an idiot and I'm inclined to take her as one... and my issue isn't what what she says (even though parts of what she writes are absurd) it's more about how she does it. Posting it on her website? If you truly want to communicate with Barack Obama...send him a letter. Privately. There is absolutely no need for you to publish all of your correspondence just so people will think you're oh so brilliant... as I said earlier, if she didn't have huge boobs absolutely no one would care about what she says. Now, just because she has a rack and decides she's going to be "involved" in politics, she's going to grace us with her glorious intelligence and deep social commentary. Please.

Bit of good news about the crowns... sorry to hear that some of the parts aren't working out the way you thought they would but I'm sure that whatever you end up doing will come out well...it sounds like you already have some thoughts as to what you can do with the remaining parts! Good luck!

I agree about XOM...especially with their profit margins the last few years (and the fact that their earnings set records). I think the majority of the public believes BP and RDS are more "environmentally friendly" and working hard on alternative energy, though XOM is too... congrats on going in on SSL!

I noticed some comparisons to Zimbabwe but I think they'll be ok for at least the next few years...just my opinion though I wouldn't buy their stock to retire with... I wouldn't be surprised to see a company like RDS, BP, or XOM try to scoop them up for the technology...there's been speculation about that for a bit...

They've been around for 58 years...weathered the apartheid... their technology looks good- probably will be much more in demand when oil prices head up again... strikes and demonstrations still occur there but from everything I've read the political situation in South Africa is fairly stable and they seem to be OK as a corporation with regards to political liability. I couldn't agree more... that's what really gets people depressed...

I'd def recommend either the DJ or the Sub... not too flashy but it'll get noticed...

What type of winder is it? Some of them can adjust to various TPD (Turns Per Day)...there's a published schedule (orbita?) of recommended TPD for various types of movements... so if it's an ETA you could set the winder to the correct number of TPD and see if that works...

RE: SSL http://caps.fool.com/Ticker/SSL.aspx Interesting...lot of the bearish members are also bearish on GE and BAC... might be a good long play...you'll probably see lower returns than with an RDS or XOM when commodities spike but it's got a lower beta, higher diversification, and should be more stable...

I agree with zzippy regarding Merc, BMW, Audi/VW etc... a large percentage of their operating profit comes from the United States....they'd better pray the US keeps buying luxury cars or they'll suffer...
