MBW rep with gen dial and working sec at 12 was about 3000$, TTK was able to source it. A franken project is really hard but possible.

A 16800 would be an intersting project with a noob, but a open 6 and 9 date font overlay font is pretty rare. Not sure also that a gen no sel 93150 would fit properly. I'd go for a 14060 too.. Looking forward to see it finished

I know, a gen turns in the opposite way. I asked because overlay open 6 and 9 date font are very rare.. I was luky to find one a few months ago. Great find

I guess it is a noob dial, MBW has 3 bars under SWISS MADE I ddn's say that an MBW couldn't have a correct data mag (even if looks stil bigger to me) but most MBW have a bigger date mag because of the deeper rehaut. You could put a piece of glass and have a even weaker mag effect i.e. BTW what bother me most of MBW's modern sub, and I owned a lot, is the conical rehaut and the uncorrect date font (easily fixable installing a noob DW) Anyway it's a damn nice watch, we are not talking about a 80$ noobmariner

In vintages 160xx DJ I've only seen round 3 open 6 and 9 date font, not sure on 16xx series

Yes BT, the MBW rehaut is deeper than gen, BK said 0.1mm deeper, you can notice it also from the stronger data mag effect. Actually what bother me most of the MBW/TW is the conical rehaut. Not like old CN sub, but still wokky. Noob is correct in this way, but too shallow. The difference that can justify a 500$ rep is the 1:1 gen case construction, same gen bezel assembly, crown and tube OEM specifics, so a perfect base for modding. At the beginning I was looking for a OEM case too, but 1400$ is definetely not worth for a modern Sub. @JoJo35: all the gen parts fit without any mods but the bezel, that needs a little bit of case reworking (my watchmaker did it) Gen bezel fits the case, but too tightly and wouldn't turn. A little bit of sanding (of the case) made it work correctly.

I guess you can have it for 499$ even it on their site they say 529$. My opinion is.. buy the gen 16710, and then if you want to spend more money buy the rep. WM9 (modded) is beautiful, but a gen is a gen. Tribal Sub collection is stunning, probably the best I've ever seen

Like Daytona, white dial is the best choice. As I said before, a genuine dial makes the difference, and EXII actually doesn't neet other mods, it's just perfect. I wouldn't reject a gen black daytona or explorer anyway

Pics can make we think about the YM as a super rep, but when you hold it on your hands, you can easily notice the dial difference (as BT says), the white gold plated bezel and different feeling of the bracelet. A sub, SD, Explorer rep bracelet can get really close to the real deal, but the new style bracelet (YM, Daytona, new DJ) is another planet, IMHO
