  1. Makes sense to me. We have a HUGE Brazilian population here...at one point we had the largest Italian population outside of Italy...huge ethnic communities represented...AND...we sell Fosters beer.
  2. Everybody sees things differently...so new pics are always fun to look at. As well...you have to post your first pics so you get the bug for posting more!!
  3. They probably will...because I think they look too cartoonish. They will use SS and blast it to look like Ti. Are they bringing in your MMD supposedly? I'm assuming it will have the crappy seconds at 6...too bad. The new mega MMD lacks the elegance of yours and looks garish in my opinion.
  4. Welcome aboard. Read the Noob Guide linked in my signature and you'll find out about all the dealers recommended here...and the links to their sites...including the Euro ones. Go to the Omega section and look at the pinned guides there for reviews on the best Omega watches. The Speedmaster dates are very accurate reps if you're interested in those...and there are lots of pictures of these watches. Lanikai has a couple photo reviews of these. I have a review of the SMP Chrono pinned in the Omega section as well.
  5. Welcome aboard. Tanfo has quite the collection. Read my Noob Guide here...and you'll hit the ground running. There's even links in the guide to articles on how to post pictures.
  6. Excellent! I can't imagine your boss flying to Sweden every 6 weeks from Toronto...too much travel for me.
  7. I just think the rubber strap needs to be ditched on this one. A design like this IMHO, should be on leather...and not rubber. There was a recent issue of GQ or Maxim or Men's Health or something like that that had a fashion spread with a dude wearing one of these on a croc honey-brown strap with standard tang buckle. It looked fantastic...maybe it was the vintage wood boat he was on with the gorgeous model beside him...but maybe the watch was nice in its own right...I can't remember.
  8. There are some decent Cartiers out...it looks like there are a few Gucci's...and depending on your wife, she might like the big Pams or some of the other big "men's" watches. My wife wears a FM Crazy Hours, and an A. Lange & Sohne fantasy cross between the 1815 Saxomat and a Lange 1 which is quite nice.
  9. Nope...you're looking in the right spot. It's been discussed before. In fact, you can read the Mod's takes on this HERE. Essentially...while general discussion on the brands would be interesting...RWG is focussed on reps...and there aren't many reps of Pateks of any quality besides the Aquanaut and Nautilus (the others are low end reps), and only the one UN model...so not much traffic would be generated. More explanation can be found above. Read my Noob Guide for more info on the rep world and culture.
  10. Welcome aboard guys. Contact any of the forum dealers directly, and ask for the IWC Spitfire 42mm with double AR and A7750 movement...they should be able to find one for you. Good luck...and remember, read my Noob Guide so you know what to expect in the ordering process, maintaining the watch, etc.
  11. Big congrats. Don't forget to "check" the "married" box when you fill out forms now.
  12. If you ever fly over to meet your boss in Toronto...let me know!! I'm sure we can get a few RWG regulars together for that.
  13. I remember when this came out...it was a looker. Glad to see you pull it back into the current rotation...and re-shooting this one with your honed photog skills. It is a great looking watch with a fantastic retro feel...IMHO...a better vintage feel than the current vintage line of IWC gens!! Was it Taka that had the rose gold version??
  14. Read the links for the appropriate questions in my Noob Guide. Welcome aboard. Who to send to all depends on your time requirements, money, and where you are located.
  15. Read the care and feeding of manual watches posts in my Noob Guide linked in my signature. As well...there are post links there for why hand winding an A7750 is bad. As to replacement bracelet...post a request on the forum in another post...or if the one you have is defective, you can ask to send just the bracelet or clasp back and get a replacement...attach pictures to show the problem if there is one. Welcome aboard. You'll also find instructions on using the slide rule in my post linked in my Signature.
  16. Mmmm...toys. Hey...I gave a few practical examples and instruction on using the tach in my Slide Rule guide linked in my signature. Chicks dig it. I don't think TeeJay needs these watches though...with his survival vest and a litter of soccer mom's...I think he's got all he needs to get him through some cold nights in space. Well I feel proud. I actually beat Freddy to a vintage Rolex minutiae question!! Actually...big props to RWG for fuelling the passion to research and honing an eye for detail!! I have lots more examples of pics in my gen 1655 guide linked in my signature for those who are interested.
  17. Grippy rubber gloves around a racquetball works too. I picked up my Jaxa for super cheap...and handy to have. Work out the cost. $40 + $20 for shipping...I imagine a local repair person should be able to do it for less...not much less...but less.
  18. I'm not so sure that it exists. I think that's the issue with this rep.
  19. I gotcha!! I should post a scan of some of the old ads...pretty funny.
  20. The old ads say this...stating the orange hand was just to tell you whether or not it was daytime or night time when you don't have a sun or moon in site to act as a reference....hence the 24hr fixed bezel. Hey...when I'm down in my deep dark cave for days on end...I always lose track of night time or daytime...I need one of these BADLY!!!
  21. That's the hand tool. That will work fine. Get post-it notes to protect the dial...or I use the Bergeon dial protectors. The caseback can be a regular Jaxa...
  22. This is a confusing one. The seconds hand has the shorter dot position proper for the later 1970's 1655's (as opposed to the long position for those in the 80's)...BUT, the dial is marked "T Swiss T" and not " T Swiss <25 T" which is closer to a 1970/71 1655...which from what I understand, had straight seconds hands with no lume dot. My guess is, damage happened to the GMT gears somewhere and likely to all the hands...which is why the GMT hand is replaced with something possibly aftermarket, and the seconds hand with a mis-matched 1655 handset not quite in line with the dial. The crown guards look wider which to me looks closer to the early 70's...but the bezel font looks to be from the late 70's (namely the shape of the #1 serif). I'm assuming the case is thicker (14mm)...closer to a SeaDweller than thin like a Sub?
  23. Resize the image on your computer to 800x600...and upload it to an offline photo server. I use Photobucket.com...use whatever works for you...then in your post, link to the image on the offline server. Go here: Pugwash's Guide on How to Post Pics
  24. I'm surprised they don't have that one. Try any of the other dealers in the Links section of rwg.
