  3. Hah hah...I have 2 friends about to walk down the dark path of ordering their first reps...that's keeping me busy.
  4. The J12 ceramics are nice. I actually have a men's size Breguet and an A. Lange & Sohne rep for my wife. They look great!! Don't think you have to go super small.
  5. Great suggestion Lani...I think THAT is needing of a photo tutorial.
  6. Yup...CDN dollar was doing great today, so dropped a load into my USD account. Woohoo!! Shopping time!
  7. What a wonderful write-up. That was a treat to read...and how exciting for you to get the pics while the progress was underway. I think you found yourself a great person to service such a fantastic piece with amazing history to be attached to your family. I'll send a note to The Zigmeister...he'll need to read this!!
  8. It's an easy fix. Is it the lume that fell out of the lume retainer, or the whole marker fell off (including the silver framing)? If just the lume fell out, you would need to decase the movement and glue the lume back in the retainer cup. If the whole marker fell off, it may have a little foot that pokes through the dial and you apply glue to the backside (crazy glue, epoxy, whatever) where the post penetrates the dial. ANY watch repair place should be able to do it on the cheap. Just go to a shopping mall repair guy or something...not an authorized dealer.
  9. I think I'm the one that's confused. The 239 has the lever closed at the top (flicker at 10pm vs. 8pm)...but I think the CG pin is the same diameter top-side vs. bottom (wrist side). You can use a pin punch or a bracelet pin tool to push the pin up (which is what I have to do) and shape it how you want so it is more recessed on the underside...so if you did flip the CG (if it worked), centering on the crown may be an issue, but the CG pin shouldn't be because you can adjust this by pushing the pin up or down. What I thought Zig does with the CG pin mod is fabricate a whole new pin...removing the old smaller diameter one, drilling a larger hole that fits the lever tighter as well...thereby tightening the lever by creating a tighter fit of the lever on the CG pin. I don't think the CG pins are asymetrical. Maybe I'm wrong on this.
  10. I usually do it to highlight a pic I found particularly of interest, or relevant to my comment. I usually don't quote a whole photoset. I thought the reload of the exact image would just be a cache reload locally instead of a new fetch, so not so taxing on bandwidth.
  11. I have a DSN one...never worked on it, as I ended up modding the one from your old 239. I still have work to do on the modding of the original 239 CG...but my intent was to give the DSN one a try flipped for the Destro. I'll have to take a look to see if it would fit or not. Ti of course, is another issue. Oy!!
  12. Car - CHECK 1000 Posts - CHECK What you need then, is the info contained in my critical guide linked in my signature.

  19. Check out the following Dave123 posts (read the responses...they will give some insight I think): Dave's Blacksteel SA You should also look for wrist checks from Dave123 as well...as he's posted a bunch with his 2 other gen SA's.
  20. I know there's an issue on the tube getting stressed out if screwed in too tight too...Zig warned me about that...thought I was easy on it...guess I wasn't. I got my parts from H.W. Perrin...easy as pie.
