  1. If it gives me good luck...I'm willing to try anything.
  2. Glad I'm not the only one. What tracker are you referring to?? I guess I haven't.
  3. I'm using Firefox 3.5.3 and when I go to the RWG Main Page: http://www.rwgforum.com/index.php? The page eventually refrehes or attempts to reload after maybe 20 seconds (possibly because of the Shoutbox reloading). Everytime it does this, it hangs on the refresh. When I click "Back", in the address bar below, I get an address going to: ajax.googleapis.com Is anybody else having this problem? It does the same thing for me at home, and on IE6.
  4. Well...I hopes so folks. Maybe I should rub TeeJay's bald head for good luck...Buddha? Hello??
  5. Big congrats...beautiful watch. That's some pretty serious Debussy too!!
  6. The shops you have listed are all new to me and names I've never seen mentioned on this forum. I would recommend you stick to the shops HackR has listed the items from, or go to the Dealers / Collectors section of this forum to get other potential dealers. We have recommended dealers for a reason...as they are tried and tested by the membership here to be, overall, reliable with fair pricing. There are no "super reps" of ALS watches...but there are some decent ones. The ALS Hand Wind first on HackR's list is great. I have a couple of them...not overly accurate, but truly in the spirit of ALS watches. The price on it is great as well. Welcome to the forum. Buying reps is not like going to Wal-Mart...there are issues about maintenance, service, shipping, etc that you should read about. I suggest you read the Noob Guide linked in my signature for an intro to the rep world.
  7. Sounds fun. Happy BDay. You...leave a watch untouched? Never...it will never happen. It will be extreme modded!!
  8. I fully understand and know that Sixx as a good friend hold no grudge against me as crap happens even when trying to do the right thing. It's the nature of ANYTHING. However, as I said in a PM to him, I also thought that if anybody can glean some info or suggestions on shipping, or perhaps realize that this sort of thing happens from time to time even from relatively safe countries, it will help control expectations all 'round. Well...if the package does indeed show up, our postal lady will get another nice sponsorship on her next marathon she runs!!
  9. ANother great write-up filled with great, practical tips, clear instruction and description of the problem. Bravo!!!
  10. Holy Crap...somebody went shopping. Yeah...YEAH...you got the tools...but what can you do with them? I really look forward to it!! Awesome.
  11. ADRIAN!!!! BTW Val...dem's some crazy boots!!
  12. I haven't been on newsgroups for years after my ISP dropped coverage of them. I have friends who still use them but via the pay services and find them cleaner for downloads of binaries than some torrents. He just saves up downloads, and subscribes to a 3 day service and goes hog wild.
  13. I thought it was Gio and Hike's photos...I only JUST realized there were watches in them.
  14. It took me awhile to figure out how best to answer this. Lani's post of course, provides some amazing photo porn about some outstanding pieces...but I think what makes a good collection is a collection that fits YOUR needs as a collector. Lani obviously has an eye for detail, varied tastes and like good representation, so he's got lots of pieces that meet this need. Nanuq on the other hand has lots of divers...vintage divers...and has a passion for Doxa's. So...lots of pieces in this category meet his needs. Others have small needs but are specific for the use cases they need covered: swimming, formal dress, casual dress, bling dress, etc...so need a few watches to cover all these bases. Ubiquitous has a need for hand built uber-frankens...one for each kid...so a double El Primero Powered Daytona makes a good collection for him. Tangfolio has a need for 5 of everything...so 35 x 20 piece watch cases later...some great photography...and he has some amazing photos to share with the community here!! To come up with the best collection, you have to figure out the bases you need covered and go from there...reference Lani's photos to figure out what some of the primo pieces are...and shop like there's no tomorrow.
  15. Tandems!!! Yup...I've got one... I seriously encourage everybody to check out the link on the pic!!!
  16. Remember Magnusson, this is 2 cases over how much time, and how many transactions?? In general, I don't think there are many issues...but luck of the draw on this one. Crappy luck...crappy draw...but still. I would like to believe that shipping from/to Canada is still generally safe.
  17. My worst week was about half of Hike's...and all because of Shtslr1's liquidation sale!! Awesome pieces...great guy to buy from. Hike...you need more watch photography posted...mmmmm...bubbles...
  18. If you've got a spare Speedy Moon, I'll PM you my coordinates.
  19. Yeah...I feel like complete tripe. I know it's one of the risks we take in the hobby...but man...not something I wish to have happen to anyone...but you feel even worse when it happens to you. @BluePrince - the package was described as fashion accessories for repair, and had a repair note inside and parts as well so it would hold up on inspection.
  20. So...this is my open apology to Nikki6. Awhile back...a long while back, I tried to help Sixx out with a deal with another member who wouldn't ship outside of Canada. I acted as middle man for 3 watches (an HBB lite, 42mm PO, and Concord C1) and the watches arrived quickly by Canada Post to which I repackaged them and mailed them off to Sixx in the UK. A chrono pusher fell off, and the crown was known to be buggy on the C1, so I ordered a new pusher and crown and stem for Sixx through Peter which was packaged up with the watches before shipping it out. I tried to keep things under the radar for value, taxes, and counterfeit goods reasons and shipped it with a neutral description by standard surface mail without tracking. Shipping with tracking I thought would raise too much attention...from what I understood. Nothing on the package indicated watches, and things were bubble wrapped so wouldn't feel like them either. Well...10-12 weeks later...no package. I contacted the post office and of course, without tracking, they can't do anything. Crap. So...I apologize to Sixx that this didn't work out. I have never had problems shipping anything outside of Canada before this...and of course, it dings a great member on the board. I guess the morale of the story is, ship it with tracking and take the chance with customs??? Maybe???
  21. PM me your address...I'll send over a few...I just got some in the post 2 days ago.
  22. Great pics and writeup. It is a nice piece. I love that nice deep and polished seamonster caseback.
