  1. I was hoping to replace like for like so I didn't have to replace the tube. The Sub crown (that came on my weird Sub rep in the GMT case) didn't fit. Ubi thinks he has something he can throw my way which will be very convenient. Here's hoping. I love the help in this community. :good:
  2. I know I'm waiting for the new 1655 project coming down the pipes. I hope it works out well!!!
  3. I wonder why the difference in the weight of the pieces. The movements are essentially the same, and the case size and construction are similar. I wonder what the difference is. I can't imagine that much of a difference in variations of SS used on the case and bracelet.
  4. And here I was thinking it was gen because of the sagging crown guards. See...once a Noob...always a Noob. All Hail the Master - NANUQ!! :smartass:
  5. This is an awesome photo-set. Great post!!
  6. Nice pics. Tanfo. How do you like the orange beast? It looks quite striking.
  7. You need pics to assess? C'mon B...you're better than that. I thought you were an expert.
  8. What...aren't we worth it? Hah hah...nice...
  9. Alghazanth Finnish Metal...yeah!!!
  10. As an update, I was able to remove the crown off the stem with no problem, using a little heat. I attempted to install a trip-lock crown from a GMT Master II case I had and it appears the crown is too big to fit the tube on the 6263 case, so it still appears I need a replacement crown. Here's hoping somebody can help!!
  11. To start off with...I'm not a Daytona purist. If I was , I would have to say a DW or Spinmaster piece is the route to go...but for $600, this is a significant purchase compared with one of the other options. I have 2 6263's, both with the Seagull ST19 manual wind movement. The movement is rock solid and reliable, and the font for the "Rolex Cosmograph" is not so heavy and bold. Sorry for the crap pics. I have the panda dial version as well as the black/red: These versions I have are loaded with flaws: Incorrect trip-lock crown Symmetrical chrono pushers Wrong crystal shape Incorrect bracelets etc In spite of this...I love them. They are beautiful watches...and you have to figure out if going for accuracy is that important to you. If not, there are significantly cheaper alternatives worth considering.
  12. The Asia ETA will have the same sweep as the ETA so you will be good to go.
  13. Hah hah...I have to laugh that the first post you have on a watch forum has to do with shaving. On a serious note...I think it all has to do with marketing and NOTHING to do with common sense.
  14. I think Miss Behavin' has a new subject needing a spanking!!
  15. In Canada, Somal Canada had them for sale for $99 + shipping (next day shipping was $9 for a big box). I think the regular price is $139 CDN.
  16. Congrats MP!! A solid watch you'll be keeping for awhile!!
  17. I haven't tried crown removal yet...thought I would see about suggestions first. Now it looks like removal will be the trick. I'll hold off on the attempt when I get a suitable part to transfer to first!! I did find that if I pull on the crown it does allow me to turn things, so I think I will have a fighting chance on removal. Pulling obviously, doesn't help when trying to wind, or put the stem in.
  18. I'm not sure what needs to be done. Maybe wait a day or 2 and see if some of the watchmaker folks chime in on the thread...or find a watchmaker who can do the repair for you.
  19. Big congrats on the score R!! Great price: $966.66. It's the Price of the Beast!!
  20. As a defence, there have been many others who just disappear and don't put anything back. At least Oren put up his review, and posted the video to show the features of the watch he bought. I think that should count for something. I just wanted a little more pillow talk in the end.
