  1. Big congrats...and a nice treat for the contribution to the board.
  2. Yup...and it has the updated rotor. Very nice piece. Congrats.
  3. Ok...I'm surprised. When I see the last pic, the strap and watch combo looks really plain...but the wrist shots really show how well the strap goes with the EoD. Well done.
  4. Rodico is good for fingerprints, oil, dust as well. Rodico is the official watch tool cleaner upper, picker upper.
  5. Did yours have the manual wind movement or the A7750 movement? If it had the manual wind movement...I might be able to help you. I've got a decent lead on some brand new Seagull ST1902 movements that are built for this and could be had for a decent price if all goes well. I don't have confirmation on price or availability...but PM me if this might work for you.
  6. Thanks for posting this. For the money it works. Mods you could do are the pearl as the vintage pearls didn't have the metal ring...looked kind of like a blob of amber...and a cheap $15 Clarks crystal (finding one that fits) would give it the closer feel giving a more accurate profile and look. Bash it up. That's the big thing. It's an old "tool" watch...it needs battle scars.
  7. Hah hah...why apologize Ken? You're the one going to Hell. Oh...back to the thread... Pig-a-licious!!
  8. Great looking piece. I love that UTC module. One of these days I'll get me a Ti watch...one of these days.
  9. That's good news!!! Any chance on a 2893-2 clone for solid GMT operation??????
  10. There is no real beginner's guide per se, as it usually is centered around modding particular watches to fix flaws, or doing major things like fitting pocket watch movements in vintage PAM cases. If you go to the Rolex section, there is a beginner guide to modding a Seadweller that might be a good intro to modding. I reposted AJS' post on swapping movements linked in my sig...Francisco has a section on mods, and of course El Zigmeister posts regularly on his mods. If you are looking at a specific brand or mod, you can start asking questions and you'll get some better responses.
  11. It likely won't without some work. If you are going for the tricompax layout, the standard mod to the A7750 is below: The new version of this movement with the tighter subdial spacing and the less-sunken datewheel was reviewed here with details on assembly and operation: Francisco's New Tricompax A7750 Review The extra bridges would likely make the movement too thick to fit in a 7753 case without mods.
  12. Hey Ubi...don't pull an Oren and ask so many questions.
  13. Watchwoot is Daytona4Me...a user on this forum. Not an official recommended dealer here...but he is on RG or RWI if I remember right. He's a discount dealer...not the same kind of or level of service as Josh / Andrew / Peter, etc. Read his description on his site of his services...pretty self-explanatory...very self-service. That's fine with me...might not be for others.
  14. It only had a LITTLE to do with searching. I had actually saved these threads as PDF's on my computer...and was able to look them up by specific quotes and author name in the search engine. I tried with the regular searching and came up dry as 25 rubies in a Chinese movement.
  15. Keyless Works #1 Keyless Works and Stem Position Reference #2 Keyless Works #3 Keyless Works #4
  16. The only real reason to go low beat is that the hand sizes are the same as Swiss / ETA so a direct swap if you plan to go that route.
  17. Yup...never would have picked Andreww as a Graham guy. Mind you...when you see them in person, they really are something. I find that with a lot of watches that they seem kind of "hokey" in pics...but when you see them in person, the play of lighting, and the scale in person can really make a watch jump out as something special that previously looked kind of silly in photos. I felt that way about the Graham's until I saw them in person...and about the UN MMD as well for that matter.
  18. It's actually more accurate for some...as some of these guys are actual collectors who initiate the production of some of the reps by purchasing the gens and having them copied. Yeah it's a bit confusing but part of the culture of reps. "Dealer" sounds so dirty. ... Mind you...they do fuel an addiction.
