  1. That is a very difficult question to answer. Especially when you factor in non-Pam watches - Swiss HBB, Swiss CD, Falco Gen dial 5512, etc. So let's just leave it at more than a few.
  2. And it works for the CD's amongst others as well. Will you delve into the day wheels as well?
  3. Always happy to be the guinea pig. The L swiss L versus T swiss T is my bad as well. Needless to say I am very pleased with the results. I know how difficult it is to remove existing lume without damaging the dial. Combining Ziggy's "tritium" lume (which I can testify matches up beautifully to my gen tritium dials) with Marco's now extinct custom cyclops and Lello's datewheel makes this one fabulous rep. And Don, on that 24A stay tuned. Beyond the already done fabulous polishing job we are adding Lello's 7750 datewheel, revised crystal/cylops combo from the improved Arktos and eliminating those lume buckets. But just wait until you see the next project (if it works - ).
  4. Congrats. The classic example of the rep industry positively impacting the gen manufacturers. Wear it well.
  5. TT- Very nice. That tt black sub is one of my favorite's since childhood. And the Pepsi... well there isn't much to say except that I hope I make Nanuq's Christmas list. N- You are truly a gentleman. One who likes bulldozers but still a gentleman.
  6. I am feeling an extreme case of deja vu.
  7. Euno- Thanks for the review. Looks really good. Alignment looks much better on the inner bezel. But I had the same question on the lume on the markers. It was an issue on the CD but the lume was surrounded by a bezel so it wasn't as obvious. On the 12 markers the lume application looks very sloppy but it may be the compression of the picture to fit on the forum. All the best and wear it well, Kruz
  8. Good for you. Enjoy it. With a little bit of luck you will see one relumed and with sssurfer's first gen cyclops and Lello datewheel in the next day or two. Stay tuned.
  9. Davidsen has a long history of listening to knowledgeable forum members. He welcomes the input and certainly wants it before he goes into full scale production.
  10. S- Fabulous pictures. Little by little it is growing on me. All of the vets swear by this one.
  11. Another rocket scientist. Why do I increasingly feel that anyone posting reps on gen boards should simply be banned. Then again there is always some idiot...
  12. Looks great. Wear it well. The things I was wondering about was how the hands and dial compare to the gen.
  13. Wow, I don't know who it is. But the descriptions and pictures match. The pricing is reasonable. The descriptions are fairly accurate if you read carefully - Swiss ETA 7750 (Asian) They even have the 2892 Conquistador. They appear to ave almost everything. Nothing new but everything. If I find one of the holy grails I may give them a shot. On the 28 the movement looks good and it has the same 2893-2 rotor. That one appears to be already anodized, oops I mean PVD'ed. That is the only problem with it. I hadn't seen a case number higher than 175 before this one. But if you want to go the PVD route and do it yourself with the more accurate and gorgeous hobnail dial try this one: http://www.dhgate.com/productdetail_402880...62827_k_c.html#
  14. I don't even know why I replied. Oh now I remember! I just want to make sure this is the longest "waiting for a new rep" loop ever. Any speculation as to whether it makes it in time for Thanksgiving?
  15. Travel for a day and you miss quite a bit. This is one of the most vitriolic loops I have ever seen. What is most disturbing is that one person can cause so much aggravation. I will assume that this has been directly discussed with VB via pm. If not than shame on everyone. I do have to say that the increasing incessant and often irrelevant posting has become annoying. And yes, if I think about it, posts of this nature have caused me to spend less time here or not bother with many threads when I am. But we have seen this before with other well-meaning noobs and they eventually slow down. A number have become valued members of our forum. And, after all, life is a recurring pattern. What is alarming based on reading this thread is that in this case it appears that all these posts are coming from someone who is leading an imaginary life??? It is not maddening. It is saddening if this is the case. The other revealing element of this loop is the amount of animosity being voiced by a number of folks who are long time friends and the fact that they would take the time to do this level of research and actually make these posts. To VB I have to say - it now appears there is more abhorrence of you than I have seen of people who are known to have stolen money from forum members. But the loop also shows you have friends here as well as detractors. My advice to you is to simply slow down and settle-in. Ona a larger level the solution in this situation seems fairly obvious. If there is a general consensus (and there appears to be) that there is too much spamming whatever you want to call it taking place from any one member than the member should be asked to slow down their posting. If the person complies life is good. Those who are friendly with the member can continue their forum relationship with the member and it makes the member think twice before posting. And that way the forum member has the choice to comply and remain on the forum or to leave. Ultimately, if the forum member cannot comply for whatever reason be it political, psychological or whatever than they are banned.
  16. I too have found the smaller Mullers only thing very frustrating.
  17. At a 100 watches I officially am declaring you nuts. I have been collecting reps for years and cannot have more than 40 watches and i have way over $xx,000 invested in them. On that basis you would have dropped well over $50,000 on reps in a relatively short time. Do yourself a favor and stay from this forum and, more importantly, the dealers for a month. Take all the money you saved and buy another gen. Better yet, save the dough and buy your significant other that well deserved 70' flat screen. He will never [censored] about reps again.
  18. There is a reason why all the original PAM PVD's came on a tan or caramel strap.
  19. Patience for what? You are not going to see another dealer with a 2892-A2 PR. I don't know who is selling what but if he has good pics, the price is reasonable and it is functioning you should consider buying it. You would want to get it serviced in any case to ensure longevity.
  20. You are doing better than I. Mine came with an unengraved rotor but it has a number like 1xx. S0 my conclusion a while ago was that they made 50 or 75 originally complete watches, which was what the folks at Honpo intimated when they originally sold them, and the subsequent ones were made using whatever they had left. I used to be unhappy that my other ones had a very low serial number but now I am grateful. Back to the point at hand, these are fabulous original movement reps and all but one or two flaws can be fixed to get it to 99%.
  21. TeeJay- You are so right. I am looking at an 003 (B series) and a 170 (f series) which both have actual tritium on hands and dial it is amazing how quickly the tritum degrades. The hands look sketchy in no time. But isn't that the beauty of tritium - that and how quickly they lose luminescence. Kruz
  22. Long weekend here: Friday- 003 Gen t dial and hands, crown and Jimmy everything else : Saturday - Time for the occasional Rolex outing. Falco's MBW 5512 with gen dial, crown, crystal insert, etc. and 2846 movement: Sunday still deciding between the GMT twins - original movement, gen crowns and hands, jimmy cg's, watchmaster cyclops, ziggy relume, yada, yada, yada ... (for all you Seinfeld fans)
  23. Simply put it is a must have. All the 2892/3's are. Add a gen crown on top of an excellent crown guard included (second only to a Jimmy or gen) and a Lello datewheel and it is too good. You end up with an original movement rep with full functionality and 97-98% accuracy for less than 15% of the cost of a gen. And with proper service it will last a lifetime. With a Ziggy or equivalent servicing I have as much confidence in it as I do in any PAM gen.
