  1. Try 288 pieces on this particular version (mistake on caseback - ). The other thing is that the next version will be slightly different with the automatic movement and as such this may be very much like the IWC GST where the gen was made a couple of years ago and so the liklihood of you running into this one is extremely low. How many people who would buy an Easy Diver are going to buy a hand wind no date version. After all, its not usually the WIS who are buying this one.
  2. In any case, the MBW standard which allows for replacing rep parts with gen is really relevant only to the vintages (1665, 1680, etc.). In truth it has more to do with the factory who is making them. And now a number of dealers sell them.
  3. Can't wait for the pics. I am eager to buy the chrono but scared to death about the movement. Perhaps a dealer who notices this loop and sells it will comment whether it is the identical movement as the Portuguese. Or perhaps not.
  4. The HBB wears smaller than a 44mm PAM? I would have guessed differently.
  5. You can swap dials on the 2892. I have no idea on the 2824.
  6. I have to say that in the flesh the gen is a much more elegant version of say a 212 or 253. And no, I don't go diving. I suspected there would be too much wrong with it. I saw the gen in both SS and SS with WG bezel (or all gold, I am not sure) and it was, IMHO, really stunning. It interested me because this will be the last version of this model (gen) with the Lemania chrono (actually the Patek version of the movement) and even the rep movement looks nice (although it doesn't have the engraved bridges nor is it as nicely finished as the gen, of course). The next version will be an automatic.
  7. They are addictive. And the unfixable flaw on the 24 is the rings around the hour markers in addition to the polished bezel (although there is a pic of a 24A without polish on La Cote).
  8. A number of dealers are offering a substantially better version of the Dubuis Easy Diver with Lemania movement. Has anyone bought this one. The gen is a stunning watch in person and it wears like a PAM. The rep looks pretty good but my fear is the "carbon fiber" at the end of the case and on the side lugs looks cheap. Anyone? Pictures 'borrowed' from Puretime and King.
  9. Very cool. It is nice to see that I am not the only one with more than one version of a watch.
  10. For point and shoot the new Pentax 10.2 meg with antishake seems to take great pictures no matter what we do. I am still trying to figure out the D-80 though.
  11. You're right. and while we are at it the lumed non-numeral hour markers should be larger and the bezel markers should be polished as well: But it is still, IMHO, the best Sub rep.
  12. 243 with gen cognac Pre V. Still trying to figure out why my D-80 will not snap a picture when I focus on my wrist. Unfortunately, seriously.
  13. The sides are polished beautifully on the second generation 243. The first generation 243 is roughly finished on the sides. The pics above are of the first generation.
  14. Marco- I suspect he may sell 40 for the price of 35 anyhow. Email him (off of ebay). Here is his email: jimmyzfu@yahoo.com On all the other items I bought from him I offered less than the ask for his remaining pieces and he took it. No ebay fees for him that way.
  15. Congrats Marco. And yes, he is definitely based in Italy.
  16. Very enjoyable. Should have tried that one on wife #2.
  17. I have a better idea - why don't we set a multinational bank headquarterd in the Netherland Antilles - RWG Finance International.
  18. Google has early stage business to business oriented system up and running. They are going to go afte Paypal eventually.
  19. I forgot to add that the version of the 243 you are showing above is the earlier version. Namor- It may be ugly but put one on. It ain't coming off.
  20. Both - Date font and cyclops (as always) 64 - Hash marks on the bezel should extend beyond the numbers. Don't own it so no other comments. 243 - CG is a little off. The "hole" is too big. Make sure you buy the later version, if you go that way, as it has proper engaved He valve and 60 click bezel unlike the other version. I also have never been able to discern whether the markers on the bezel should be polished.
