Pug is right. The other thing to bear in mind is that even if you have a direct swap you should be aware that you may not be able to swap out the Aswian dateweheel for the Swiss. THis was the case on the Breitling CHrono.
Hey V-
If you go bigger I am in. Let me know. If you elect to do screw in as well let me know. I have two beautiful straps from you and no buckles. A Bob buckle with nothing on it just doesn't do it for me.
The color does appear pretty close. On the TT's my issue is the gold datewheel. The gens all have gold background on the datewheels. I wonder if that can be fixed? At least the all gold appears to have a white background datewheel.
I find the best source of 7750 movements is Ebay Germany. On WM he makes beautiful satin finish SS but I was not aware of him doing anything in Titanium.
You can do a Chrono Avenger with Swiss for less. I did it by accident when my movement busted and I simply bought Swiss 7750 fo $220 or so and had Ziggy drop it in. The total was in the $500 range.
What can you say? We are asshats. But happy ones. And the funniest part is that I suspect there are more than a few folks here who have more invested in gens than the majority who hang around the purist sites.
I suspect different AD's label differently. When I got a Breguet back from Breguet they had attached a classy sticker with the date on it. The next guy who serviced it and was an authorized repaired person commented on it. Who knows?
The 222 has a faulous dual cyclops set-up. Would not change it similar to the 2892 Power Reserves. On the Power Reserve the new cyclops is a noticeable improvement and you keep the cyclops directly above the dial in place. On the 222 leave it alone. If you want to be anal about the 222 the only thing you might do is paint the insides of the datewheel hole black as the metal does show. But you are only going to do that if you are taking the watch apart. It could do with a new crown though.
Thomas-
Congrats on the new job. Excellent salary and I think that the bonuses can really add up too. I suspect there may be a gen or two in your future. But before you stock up on the gens you better check out housing prices. My colleagues over there say it is outrageous.
