the 210 is a classic and i would not recommend any of this. it would be like a woman getting a breast reduction. if it was a rep it wouldn't matter but not a gen. i love the look of pvd but in all honesty, pvd is probably a fad. companies will produce them for a few years and then people will be over it. if that's the case, this will be very hard to re-sell. i see people from time to time change the hands to gold and then, what do you know? it's up for sale. i can only assume that they were not happy with the outcome. if it ain't broke don't fix it ... just my $0.02. all the best.

I sent a mail to Josh and told him about this flaws, his simple answer was:
"Hi,
Maybe you are refering to another model of ap..
The current model is avail in gen.. According to the maker.
Iwc .. Should be avail end of this month.
Thanks
Joshua"
So I fear they will not change it...what a shame that the makers are so narrow-minded
Isn't this what they also told about the first ones with the silver date windows?
They will change afther some time...
Maybe they can show us a pic of the gen

Thanks! I like powerful and cheap. Great combo

If you don't plan on doing this for a living.... direct sunlight and some patience will do.
Thanks chubbchubb but patience is not listed in my vocabulary and there is not much sun these day's
I can't remember were I found it but I read an article that this one works great.
Isn't UV light just UV light so it will always work or do you need a specific power or so?
-
Need to install a cyclops and I'm looking for a cheap UV light (probably only use it one time)
I found this one but since I have no experience with it, I have no idea what I should look for.
Do you think this will work to cure the UV glue?
Thanks for letting me know!

Yep, it's screeming REPLACE ME!!!

concentric circles
Wow.....

Thanks.
Good questions! I am pretty sure the hands will fit except for the GMT one. That will be a question mark.
There is nothing wrong with the DSN dial, just the pics I suppose.
Not too sure how all these will work out but what the heck, have to give it a try, right?
Right! I would have taken the risk as well

Great parts man, it will be a wonderful franken one!
I have some questions:
Will those gen hands fit the asian movement?
Can you use the original dial feet with the asain movement?
Is it the picture or is there something wrong with the left side of the DSN sub-dial?
Very interesting project

I have 3 or 4 to go. (crystal only)

Looks great man.
What did your modder do other than the cannon pin?
The AR doens't look standard to me....
I also like the strap. Can you tell us what it is?
-
Oh man... I almost love you pics as much as I love the watch.
Really great choise you made there.
Have fun wearing it!
-
Get the AR and the DW done and you have a absolutely lovely watch.
I really love it with the croc strap. Great combo with the white stitching.
I agree with you about the markers. I don

It looks great man! Nice lume

How did you get your crown to work with the rep movement? Mine broke off and I am looking at ways to fix it.
The crown fits the rep stem. So no problem.
-
wow. awesome work.
by the way, how much $ did you have to spend to make it look like this now?
Reluming the hands:

Ok what did I do:
Gen Strap
Gen Deployment
Gen Crown
Gen Dial
Relumed Hands C1
Chief's AR
Raised PR hand. (the standard one is hitting the dial)
I think it's quite amazing how detailed the rep parts are. The crown is almost identical and also the dial is pretty close.
I made a comparison pic of the rep and gen dial and this is what I noticed. (sorry for the lousy pic)
The printing on the gen dial is whiter than on the rep
The "IWC" print is a little thinner on the gen.
The 8 is different.
The hours markers and the triangle are higher on the gen (thicker layer of lume)
Of course the lume is much better.
Size of the date window, power reserve display, distances etc etc. are spot on.
Almost forgot. The feet of the dial had to go so I had to glue the dial on the movement ring.
Hope you like it.
Cheers Sander

Def a gen 48 that is worn a lot and sold for a low price,
Agree.
I think he made a mistake with the 44mm.

I couldn't sleep last night thinking about what I did wrong putting this watch back together (this is insane, I should be asleep right now!).
If it wasn't for the ETA data sheets, I NEVER would have been able to put it back together. I'd like to thank whoever originally posted that information.
I think I'd like to try the TZ course, I'm going to look into it. I have such a long way to go. It would be so fulfilling to be able to take a movement apart, clean it and put it back together (correctly and lubricated)... oh that would be a nice feeling.
I think in 7 minutes I can take the caseback off. I might be able to get it down to 5
I know how frustrating it is. I always start a project as soon as the kids are in bed and work until I can

I think that the 6497-1 movement is a good movement to start working on.
My first experience was pretty good although I had 2 little problems. The first one was the missing winding pinion (have no idea where it went) and the second one was that I broke the head off of the crown wheel screw. I didn
