The interest in this watch is obviously there (IMO that goes for all ROs), so if the rep is good enough perhaps we should think about a group buy. Slightly OT, but has anyone asked Honpo about the status of the 1:1 RO Chrono yet? I would rather know for sure whether it's going to happen than to keep waiting for years in anticipation.

But I'll definitely at least try and check out the AP Boutique. Admin, I'll see if they've got any update on the Dual Time.

I'm off to Singapore this weekend and will probably have a couple of hours to check out some watches. Does a decent rep market exist out there for watches? Also, any must-see shops for gens? I want to check out the Mark XVI and new RO Dual Time in particular. Thanks.

It may be the same case. The big difference is the bezel. The screws in the picture on this rep look a bit mangled in places. Another difference (between this and the gen) is that the bezel isn't close enough to the edges of the case at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock. The gap is at least twice as much as it should be. This was an area of the Faldo rep which they did better. Some more flaws that they haven't fixed: 1. Placement of the AP logo should be more to the left so that it is directly under the "60". 2. The word "Automatic" is too big (in both height and width). 3. The hour hand is too wide. It should be the same width as the minute hand. 4. The TT has many more problems: the gold colouring looks way off, the date window should be black font on gold background and, I don't think they ever released this TT model with grey dial (it should be white); also on the TT model there should be minute markers at 14, 15 and 16.

Nice to see them focusing some attention back to AP. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

Correct. I researched the NF model to death around the time I got mine, and I've seen gens with different clasps. As far as flaws go, there were two rep versions of this model, and I ended up going with the less accurate but higher quality version from River. In all, I noticed around 8 differences between River's model and the gen. But I'm still really happy with it. I've got a solid caseback and more accurate dial and hands on the way (seem to be waiting forever for them though) for my project.

Congrats on another superb purchase, Admin. One word of warning though. If you get caught by customs when coming back to the UK, you can add at least 22% (in VAT and import duty) on top of what you paid. I've been stopped on my last two trips back from HK (although I was ok as I had nothing to declare).

Looks like there is some shill bidding going on in that auction. The seller ignored my questions, so that was enough to put me off... Two different areas of the bezel need to be brushed: the face and the sections which meet the case. The bevelled sections of the bezel (i.e. the middle sections) should be polished.

The high bid for the rep on eBay is currently US$1,325. Unbelievable...
