  1. They would have a crown for a range of watches, so it would be interchangeable with other models in the range. So for instance smp crown would work with the smp range (of that generation and size) but not new ones etc. The aqua terra crowns would work on all models of that range and size, and railmasters etc. AT parts are hard to find now, you might find some parts on cousinsuk, not sure which though, last time I looked a few months ago all I could see was a black AT quartz dial on there. They might be able to get hold of a crown if asked though, it's not exactly an obscure part, and the railmasters were only discontinued very recently...as in a year ago.
  2. Yeah, was just messing with ya about panerai etc, I do get you, it's gonna be tough going, but with all the price hikes with the main brands, it may well be a good time to offer something different at a slightly lower price. It has worked for the likes of Kobold and a few others, yes they are around a few years but not that long, Chronoswiss aswell, I think!
  3. Yep, perfect answer, not saying it's you OP but many look for reps that are as close as they can get to gen without thinking about what watches they really like themselves, I think some of the Hublot reps are fantastic, but I wouldn't even wear one on my ankle, let alone flash one around on my wrist
  4. Not saying anything about the above company, don't know anything about them, but plenty of boutique brands just appear out of nowhere and claim some long lost classic heritage to appeal to people who can't think for themselves, bankers and soccer players....people will buy anything, just look at Hublot and Panerai....I think I'll start a watch company!
  5. Any of the dealers will get you the lemania copy version (ST19) It's about the best around... http://www.puretimew...manual-winding/ The lowerend quartz version has a working chrono, it's also a nice rep, try watcheden, timeshops narikka etc for one of these.
  6. No prob, I was looking for one anyway, you are as bad as me, I'm putting a franken together for a friend so he definitely wants a white numbered dial, but for my own I still don't know, I prefer the white aswell but red would be more ...'exotic'
  7. Arrggh, that's not what I like to hear, that's a balls mate, these crystals are too bloody expensive for these things to be happening....must have given you palpitations.
  8. That's what I was thinking, but not too sure the orange is for me ...not very adventurous here, might hold onto it we'll see, I've to get the red dial first!
  9. Right 42mm dial with red numbers is: Case No: 168.1653 (It's the case No for the full orange 42mm PO) Part No: 064WK3171011 CousinsUK ref: X24022 Just use cousins ref above....so much easier...why they make things so awkward to find I don't know but once you have the ref then you are sorted. I've some bad news for you tho...the red numbered dial is £30 more expensive than the white numbered dial(Yes, silly, you'd think there was gold in them red numbers!).....that reminds me, I've another white numbered dial to order so much do so before they tack on the extra £30 to that
  10. Yeah the bezels can be a nightmare without the right tools, best to take it in to get it done, there were some cheapish bezel removers on cousinsuk but even they are touch an go and sometimes they don't get it off. Yep, bezels, damn changed my mind on orange and now want black with red numbered dial just thought I'd ask, I'll prob put it up for sale soon.
  11. Yep Andrew is perfectly fine dealer.....Also either the black/white/white or black/white/red (first links) are both fine above, or the swiss eta clone versions of those if you want slightly cheaper. Go with what ever one you want really, both are fine reps, no difference in the quality of the reps except for the number colour, if you are going franken eventually it really doesn't matter either way. Cousins have the red numbered one somewhere I'll try find it later based on case part...their search system is a mess...usual I have to go onto the Ofrei website to search for number parts and then go back and put them into cousins system. Yep, look out for rep pearl, try get the most centred and flush to gen out of the box if you intend to keep it. I think the He valve think is back to normal again now after a slight blip a few months ago so no worries with that. The AR out of the box isn't bad, slightly too blue-ish and less 'transparent' AR effect than gen, but still not bad, it's similar in colour to the older 2006-2009 model PO from Omega which had bluer AR compared to later versions.
  12. You really crack me up tolis How many PO's have you got at this stage...dozens...one from each dealer? I'd say you've more than Omega have in reserve stock Don't tell me you haven't bought one yet...they are all the same!?!
  13. Also wouldn't worry bout the 10sec pd, it will settle down, the scratch you refer to looks like a tiny dot....dust? Eitherway looks fine, probably dust speck.
  14. Looks nice rpc, as usual pearl not perfect on the 45mms, but I've seen worse, everything else looks great, as above accept it and enjoy!
  15. Looks sweet matt, have you got tools to get the old bezel off? btw what 42mm PO colour bezel are you looking for? Is it black? Cos I'm looking for a black aswell I do have a gen 42mm orange full bezel that I don't quite know what do with with at the moment, was gonna use it for a franken but not sure if I want orange...was gonna sell it.
  16. Yep Jkay, I think it was watcheden was the only place I ever saw rep seikos and citizens (had to blink a few times) The dssd is a much better option definitely!
  17. Yep the sinns are almost superreps, the AR is amazing on them, better than most gens, can't go wrong. I'm sure there was a few reviews on the U1, if you do a search you might find them. There are reps of seikos, but it seems they may be very low end and lack the true dive function that only a gen seiko tuna could give.... the gens are quite reasonably priced, unless we are talking about Grand Seikos.
  18. The Sinns are nice reps, I don't have the U1 but I do have the U2 and love it, great quality and very accurate, I believe the U1 is just as good built quality. Dont know too much about the seiko reps, don't think they get much attention...can't be a good thing.
  19. I think they've improved some of the designs in the past few years, sure they will never be the old Heuer but with the 1887 carrera and the newer aquaracers they've picked up pace, also some of the Monaco rereleases are gorgeous. There's something unlikeable about them though, the advertising is too in yer face, as a brand they are a bit annoying...like a kind of rolex for 20 somethings As said above they are not owned by swatch, they are owned by LMVH, same company that owns Hublot and Zenith, and a whole host of other annoying fashion brands. I'd still like a decent 1887 rep though, get it started
  20. This is a real balls of a situation to be in, I feel for you OP, It would be nice to think that whoever signed for it would've done the decent thing and held onto it for you, not these days. How much was the package insured for? Fedex have to take some responsibility for this...the package didn't get into your hands so they can't wash their hands of it, even if they try to (and they are bstards for it dhl, fedex, ups, the lot of them, they promise everything and they never want to pay out when things go wrong) ...also concepta needs to pull the finger out and get some recompense going, not good enough. If himself and others are going to do business with gen like priced items then they need a proper 3rd party jewellery insurer, like parcelpro etc.... not regular postage insurance, it's not worth a shiit. Even the rep dealers offer to resend the package as a form of insurance if things go wrong.
  21. Yep, it'll be so good even all the frankens will end up in the bin .....If we can get as far as a 1st generation 1/5 ultimate new 2012 PO next we'll be doing well
  22. Hi brokenblinker, yes the crown stripping issue is a concern with the PO's, but it is probably overstated, just make sure you ask for a good one with good screw down action and it should be fine, at least if you went with the swiss or the eta clone then if worst came to worst(which it probably won't) then you would have the option of gen crown. Also you may want to franken in future with it...for the little extra expense, it's probably worth it. I don't believe you necessarily need the swiss, just extra expense, the clone is fine. If cash is really an issue and you really can only afford the cheaper version, go with the dg4183 then you could always sell it if you want eta option in future, It's a good option with little outlay for a great rep out of the box.
  23. I know what you mean, nothing worse than something like that, it would just bug until it's gone....Rodico is magic stuff great for all kinds of things and great for removal of any dust marks prints or other residue, and causes no mess.
  24. Maybe I overstated it when I said the tide is turning, but what you said is right, many watch fans just want to have a few good watches rather than just being able to afford one, reps are the best way of going about this. With the current gen prices I think quite a few more watch fans see that these days.
  25. ...I think we've all calmed down now, normal service resumed! The mods sorted it out....FxrAndy told us all to go on the beer last night and we did, .....with gusto,..... best treatment ever
