The PAW is going to be passed on to someone in the UK, it doesn't work however I think we should carry on taking pictures of it, all with the time 17:17, which is what it is at at the moment, cos that's when it died.

JTB, you want to show it the slums??

It is going to be making the short trip to Glasgow, then Tuscany for Easter!

This is fantastic news. I was hoping the infamous SeaNaster was still enjoying the life of a travelling rock star...

Looking forward to the photos.

When it comes back to the US, I'll take care of fixing it.

Is the Journal still travelling with the watch?

I've ordered PAW a new DG2813 movement, and I've bought a set of hand removal/replacement tools. Now it's a race against time for them to arrive before I jet off to Italy. It would be nice to have him/her beating again, but if not it'll just have to be 17:17 all day.....

PAW is still ailing. He has a new movement, but it is no thanks to my ambitions being greater than my skills that PAW still doesn't work. The minute hand keeps slipping so I can only assume that the new movement is of slightly different spec despite looking identical. Either that or I have done something wrong.... :(

Edit: PAW lives! Just in time to get on the flight to PISA (yay!)

Well gents. If the crew deems me worthy at some point, I'll be more than happy to escort our precious PAW through some parts of Africa and Eastern Europe in a few months. I'll be getting a new job which will have me frequenting these areas. maybe I can get a pic with him strapped to a Rhino horn???

EXCELLENT!!!

Thanks, r11co, for replacing the movement! Seems that the PAW will live the rockstar lifestyle for a bit longer!

Let's keep her going!

Cheers, everyone...

That would be amazing...

r11co will make the decision as to who gets the watch next, and I'm sure he won't disappoint!

may I ask where it is at now? :)

May I also ask the status of the PAW?

I know we all get busy, but the intent of the PAW was to pass it along at a pretty good clip to keep things interesting. Can we please get some action back into this thread?

I'll email r11co...

If the PAW can make it back stateside this summer I can waterproof the watch and get some photos of it on a shipwreck. I will be conducting an archaeological survey of the wreck of the Sarah E. Sheldon in Lake Erie. I am a volunteer diver with the Great Lakes Historical Society, and will be surveying this wreck and another this summer. It would be nice to get the watch upgraded, and have some photos of it in its natural habitat. For the enjoyment of any divers in the forum here are some photos taken by another member of the survey team during the survey of the Dundee last summer.

Me descending to the Dundee on the downline.

Another shot of me (right) and my brother (left) after the dive waiting at a saftey stop, notice the SMP Chrono anyone?

Pardon the bump, I am just hoping this thread gets noticed by whoever actually has the PAW currently. I will be doing several other dives on the Sheldon this summer, and a few on another Lake Erie wreck. I would hope this thread gets noticed in time.
