woody Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 Good read as always from gen forums......and that and the fact that all of our watches are quartz movements! yay! hxxp://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=126536 remove the 2 x's and add the 2 t's...you know what to do.
maxman Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 Link Is not working. OMG, my brother Is going to join one of those rep forums, . Guess how disapointed they will be when little brother has nicer looking watches and knows a [censored] load more about timepieces In gereral. That cant be good. Mike
lhooq Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 What do they argue about? Whose is more fake? Whose date cyclops looks the crappiest? Bet on whose leaded 18k "Gold" flakes off first? Actually, those are pretty good thread ideas...
HauteHippie Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 LOL a fake forum. This is all but a dream!
Nanuq Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 Actually, those are pretty good thread ideas... Whose looks the fakiest? I nominate this one!
metaljesus Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 I dont know whats more disturbing, The fact that there is a forum for fake watches or people would publicly admit they buy fake watches. Yuck! Imagine the character of people you would meet on a fake Rolex forum? Sad just sad.
deltatahoe Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 Whose looks the fakiest? I nominate this one! admit it nanuq -- deep down, you're just jealous of my highly modded folex deltatahoe
FxrAndy Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 That and there also probably are people discussing design tips and spreading "authentic" knowledge from forums like TRF in order to build a better fake..... IMO a bunch of CUxts stuck up there own arses
Member X Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 Now don't beat about the bush, Andy... LOL That's the sort of thread that I want to post a picture of an ultra-franken of a really rare model, or even a modded BK/WM9 v3 Sub, just to see how long it took someone to notice it was a replica lol
ubiquitous Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 Whatever they have to tell themselves to justify or feel better about their purchases is fine with me.
Member X Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 Nothing like being open minded... and they really are nothing like being open minded... lol
Katerchen Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 Nothing like being open minded... and they really are nothing like being open minded... lol BUT they are funny :thumbsupsmileyanim: The gorgeous George
asciwhite Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 (edited) Its almost like when you buy a Gen you get the makers of the brand to think for you, and shut down your own brain because you have "the best" and you dont bother about anything else... Like timepieces in general Do not know if that came out the way I wanted but..... EDIT: When SOME people buy gens!! Not all of them *hehe* Edited April 27, 2010 by ASCIWhite
Nanuq Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 admit it nanuq -- deep down, you're just jealous of my highly modded folex All Hail the Delta-Lex!

Well said. Have you seen, for example, much of what passes for "art"? I can't speak for anyone else, but it sure seems like there's a lot of people that ascribe value to their "art" simply because it was expensive. Same with watches, eh? Thinking to themselves... "I spent over six grand for this thing, so look how wonderful it is!"
mumum Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 How do I join, quickly tell me, this place is filled with uneducated, unknowledgeble fools... I need a real place with close minded, know-it-all like me (btw, isn't rolex the best? And what's a VC, AP ect.?)
southcoast68 Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 Let those folks alone with their own opinions. The less they know and understand about this little corner of the watch collecting hobbies, the better off we will all be. Lets be sure to give this guys brother a warm welcome when he gets here. Cheers PS, I didn't know we were all Russian mob here .

Mike I tried the link and it still works; remove the 2 x's between h and p at the beginning, and replace them with 2 t's.

txcollector Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 Number 1 - Hilarious that there are people over there that would prefer an Invicta over a WM9 Number 2 - I would love to answer to the Q: "what do they discuss there" A: how overpriced many gens are and how a watch actually works. Most of those guys don't know past the bezel how good or not the construction of those watches/movement are. Funny thread and very typical.
dluddy Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 It's the Build vs. Buy mentality - some folks will never get that Never understood the fun in laying down your Platinum card and walking home with a watch
HauteHippie Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 It's the Build vs. Buy mentality - some folks will never get that Never understood the fun in laying down your Platinum card and walking home with a watch I could think of a few where that'd be very fun...... as long as its someone else's Platinum card.
