freddy333 Posted June 26, 2010 Report Posted June 26, 2010 About a year ago, with the completion of my 6536-1, I had constructed all of my grail watches But, now, with the (near) completion of the infamously mythic Pan Am GMT (my Phase II 6542), I think I have to define a new level - Űber Grails - those ultra rare & mythic models that include the likes of the gold Moonphase & albino 6202 (TBA)
Cats Posted June 26, 2010 Report Posted June 26, 2010 :thumbsupsmileyanim: Great collection Freddy. I'm jealous. Carpe Diem Cats
mastergod Posted June 26, 2010 Report Posted June 26, 2010 Love that Pan Am (and the others) But the Pan Am, it certainly is in a league of its own. mg
panerai153 Posted June 26, 2010 Report Posted June 26, 2010 Freddy, wonderful collection. As I said before, the Pan AM really stands out and is my favorite.Your collection sets the bar even higher. Enjoy these beauties, they are in a class of their own.Question is now, since you have collected all of your grails, what's next?
freddy333 Posted June 26, 2010 Author Report Posted June 26, 2010 Question is now, since you have collected all of your grails, what's next? 1st, I have to get the roulette datewheel installed to complete the Pan Am GMT. Then, continuing the albino theme, this is next on my to-do list (Datejust-style 6202 Turn-O-Graph) Someday, once I figure out a plan of attack, I would like to do a proper Moonphase. Possibly, yellow gold.
panerai153 Posted June 26, 2010 Report Posted June 26, 2010 Man, you de Bomb!! I bow in awe to your abilities. moonphase will be a great project, probably more difficult from a parts accusition point than any of the others before it.

gtanak Posted June 27, 2010 Report Posted June 27, 2010 Life is so unfair.. 1 man should not be allowed so many grails.. and now Uber Grails.. Hail the Monty Python.... Attack!!!
By-Tor Posted June 27, 2010 Report Posted June 27, 2010 You're a true hardcore Freddy! Stunning examples what serious modding can achieve... I wish I had 1/100 of those skills.
lhooq Posted June 27, 2010 Report Posted June 27, 2010 I'm not familiar with the albino Turn-O-Graph at all, but that's beautiful. Is that a circular texture on the dial?
freddy333 Posted June 27, 2010 Author Report Posted June 27, 2010 Thanks All. Is that a circular texture on the dial? It looks like it, but I have never seen 1 in the flesh, so this will be a learning process in more ways than 1.
flex Posted June 27, 2010 Report Posted June 27, 2010 Gold moonphase..........please! that's what I have always wanted....... flex
freddy333 Posted June 27, 2010 Author Report Posted June 27, 2010 I seem to recall that Phong (or another 1 of the aftermarket/franken sellers) was selling a nice-looking Moonphase for about $10k. A little rich for my blood & I shudder to think of what it looks like under-the-hood, but if you need to satisfy an urge
upland Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Amazing job "I wish I had 1/100.000 of those skills to do this" : http://nakahiro.parfait.ne.jp/image/image13/datejust.jpeg
Member X Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 I really don't know where you get all these rarer-than-hen's-teeth parts, I'm jealous! lol

Try Trusty or Perfect Clones - send them that pic & see if they can match it. I really don't know where you get all these rarer-than-hen's-teeth parts, I'm jealous! lol They are out there. You just have to ask around (alot)
Ronin Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Astounding. Clearly a master of the craft. Looking forward to seeing your future projects.
