donerix Posted January 28, 2011 Report Share Posted January 28, 2011 I found this antique store in Granada, the oldest colonial settlement in central america who has a buch of those real old wooden chests (I guess they used to be travel cases). I bought one and turned it into my new home for my old watches. Three levels for watches, parts and straps and it comes with the original old lock and key: I will make a nice stamped brass plaque for it and it's done. The lady in the store said it's at least 50-60 years old. Looking at Granada's history with earthquakes in 1926 and 1972 and the civil war from 1979, I think this is correct. She has about 10 more in the store in different sizes. I just picked this one because it had the original lock and key and the size was right for what I wanted to do.
