Justasgood
Okay, so I am not a man of many words (my wife would argue that but who's asking). Breakdown: Gen 1500 case Gen Crown/Tube Gen crystal Yuki dial Movement Gen ETA2892 And just added, Gen 7835 bracelet. If anyone has a set of endlinks I could use them as this bracelet has a mis-matched pair. Still need a decent set of hands. Feedback expected and appreciated. dutchguy2
Maybe a gen dial with matching hands. For the rest it is awesome.
chiman12
looks really good IMO...how about a nice set of CousinsUK hands relume to match the dial?
praetor
need more scratches.... just kidding. Actually, there was a thread once that compared all the dials, which concluded that ingod44 was the best of the bunch.
TeeJay
It looks fantastic, I wish I could help you out with the endlinks you need, but I know someone will be able to hook you up
praetor
I didn't know you could use a gen 1500 case for this project... what tropic did you use?
Justasgood
I didn't know you could use a gen 1500 case for this project... what tropic did you use? Important note: This is not an Explorer (1016), it is a 1500 Oyster Perpetual Date. The dial is an Explorer precision dial(Smaller than the 1016) The crystal is original to the case. praetor
ohh.. thanks. maybe you could use a 1601 case for a 1016.

freddy333
I think the weakest link is the dial, which is not bad. But if you are looking to improve the watch, I would start there. After that, swap in a gen movement & call it quits.
Justasgood
Freddy, That would defeat my purpose. The watch was a donor for my now gone PG 5512. I gave the Gen dial to Justin. So I had the case sitting in a drawer and decided to throw together a low cost franken. After I get some hands that match, this one will be done. lhooq
Very nice! I wish Yuki still carried their old stock of 5500 dials (not to mention their 1016s), but this looks great as-is!
alligoat
Very nice K! Did you use a stilty ring to secure the 2892-2? A 1500 Date takes the T-117 with a cyclops or the T-13 w/o it.
Justasgood
Sorry for the mis-information. The case is a ref. 1002 (1961) No ring to secure the movement, just movement tabs..
