cougar1
Nice looking strap, tho. Yeah not too bad, decent enough looking grain on it, for the price the watch isn't the worst monstrosity ever, the case is finished quite nice, it's very off but not exactly expensive...it may even be cheaper on silix, trevor, timeshops etc. ...............still in bad need of a better effort though! Tom Hawkes
Flemming's Bond wears a Rolex. Hollywood's Bond wears whatever watch manufacturer bids the most for exclusive advertising rights. No sh!t, Sherlock. Are you implying that they make movies to make money? Oh my.. Flemming's Bond doesn't wear a Submariner either.. Edited April 28, 2012 by Tom Hawkes
Dorian Gray
I'm really look forward to these reps possibly coming out however I dont want to wait until November to get it! I'm only assuming that they'll go into production AFTER the film premieres.
Dorian Gray
Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M”SKYFALL” Limited Edition watch "To celebrate its seventh performance in a supporting role in a Bond film, OMEGA is launching the Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M”SKYFALL” Limited Edition watch. Like every Planet Ocean, the new watch is ready for underwater adventure. Equipped with a unidirectional rotating diving bezel and a helium escape valve, the watch is water resistant 60 bar / 600 metres / 2000 feet. The watch has a 42 mm brushed and polished stainless steel case and a matching patented screw-and-pin bracelet whose divers’ clasp is engraved with “007”. The rotating diving bezel is distinguished by its matt black ceramic ring with a chromium nitride diving scale. The applied indexes on the matt structured black dial are coated with white Super-LumiNova emitting a blue light as are the polished, facetted rhodium-plated hands. The exception is the minute hand which emits a green light, as does the dot on the diving bezel. This feature makes it easy for divers to keep track of their time at a glance. At the 7 o’clock position is a 007 logo and at 3 o’clock, there is a date window. The Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M SKYFALL Limited Edition is powered by OMEGA's exclusive new Co-Axial calibre 8507. SKYFALL 007 is on its rotor in black-varnished engraving. The movement is visible through sapphire crystal in the brushed screw-in caseback. Along with OMEGA’s industry-changing Co-Axial technology, the watch is equipped with an "Si14" silicon balance spring. The combination is so stable and reliable that the Planet Ocean comes with a full four-year warranty. The Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M SKYFALL wristwatch is being produced in an edition limited to 5,007 pieces and is delivered in a special presentation box." cougar1
Saw that earlier, gorgeous dial, love the matte brick effect, would love that without the 007 on it! AT bond blue, I don't think is even in discussion stage let alone production stage, we will see it for the next bond movie that follows skyfall.... hopefully

cougar1
Bummer maybe I'll have to try and build one myself! , Hopefully the factories start to take notice over the coming months. Now that the new gen ceramic PO is getting alot of attention and purchases in the gen market they are definitely taking notice of that, it would be a huge potential seller for them just like the old/current PO rep was/is. With the bond AT, it probably would never even be given a 2nd look normally but bond has a lot of pulling power so maybe one of the big factories will consider it....we should at least be some bit wiser by Christmas of this year if they like the look of the AT as a potential seller. Mike on a bike
The AT in blk at Silix 64 bucks http://www.silix-prime.co/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=116_231&products_id=4538 May just pick one up for my son (22), he loves the new Bond movies. At 64 bucks close enough is OK, and when he breaks it I will not care. He could wreck a Gen.
Dorian Gray
I'm a big James Bond fan and I really like the looks of the AT so I figures I would wait till someone produces this. Well I may just get a close enough AT and try to make it a close as possible with parts.
om3ga_guy
Not sure if this is old news, I didn't read through all the thread pages but Omegas confirmed that Bond will be wearing a PO in Skyfall. You can find the article on their website + they posted this photo as well... http://www.omegawatches.com/news/international-news/international-news-detail/1961 Edited June 11, 2012 by om3ga_guy

cougar1
So he is wearing both an AT and a PO in this movie? In the opening setup shots he is definitely wearing the AT, he seems to then change to PO later on....similar exposure given to two watches in Casino Royale. I suppose somewhere they'll manage to get him to say the brand name soon again.
Dorian Gray
Yes you are correct. I believe he may have up to three different watches it seems. Definitely two watches, the third may be his personal everyday watch.

danza1812
Got to say as much as a watch with 007 on it is tacky, that looks awesome.
Jkay
The 007 at 7 is so much better than the older 007 on the seconds hand. I'd buy it.
r11co
That looks awful. Sorry. The '00'7 marker looks like it dropped off the face from somewhere else and landed there. The pattern on the dial doesn't know what it wants to be either - kind of trying to be tuxedo but going the wrong way. Just another attempt to differentiate from other Bond Specials in order to keep dipping from the obsessive fans with small brains and deep pockets. Irrelevant anyway - I'm only interested in 'on screen' watches, so hurry up and get that AT out, guys.... Edited October 24, 2012 by r11co
Major_Error
Cool, but I would go for the Gun Barrel.... That is my favoritte Bond Watch, besides a "plain SMP"... 8-)

Im a big fan of bond but i would buy the watch with out 007 markings after all would a secret agent have i his secret double O advertised on his wrist watch so his under cover status is useless does james bond wear a 007 logo omega in the movie ? aeromatic
The wafer dial adds more to an already fussy dial they should make it plainer and less glitsy looking the old version is much better and the see thru back is tacky hope the rep makers make a solid back version
wiesn089
Actual pictures just in; Imo this picture shows the main drawback of the newer 8500 POs perfectly, they are way too thick! I loved them on all the press shots when they were released, but when I tried one on I was utterly disappointed by this, otherwise a great watch, but too fat. Mid-size 8500 ATs are the perfect size, amazing movement, accurate and very rugged, great choice for Bond's watch! I really like the blue dial as well, not too dressy, a great addition to any wardrobe, very wearable for any occasion. I can absolutely relate to DC's objection to bigger watches, as far as I know he's a vintage Rolex collector, once you're used to smaller vintage watches, everything above 40-42mm tends to look ridiculously huge...
sgtguk
Gotta say I felt the same with the 45mm, but it was very comfortable to wear with the new bracelet, I bought the 42mm instead and that one is perfect !
cougar1
Yeah agreed they missed a trick slightly with the heights/thickness of these 8500 PO's, people say it's necessary adjustement to fit the movement but that is not entirely true, the movement is chunkier than the 2500 but alot of the added thickness comes from the bezel height. No doubt they are great sellers already and they will be great sellers going forward but lots of people prefer the 2500 PO size/height. This could've been a true direct competitor to the Rolex sub, instead Omega turned it into SD/DSSD competitor. Not sure if we'll ever get a proper AT r11co, been bugging Angus about noob doing one, it's difficult to get info on the 8500 PO rep let alone an AT, I keep telling him they can't ignore it as it is the bond watch and will be a solid no nonsense seller, and when they've finished trying to get an sw200/a2824 to look like an 8500 for the PO, they can stick that one in an AT and double up the profits

In terms of accuracy it may as well have a DG2813. In fact , if it means they get it out quicker then they should bloody well put a 2813 in it..... . 'ETA clone' is just a price markup issue these days - good for profit for the sellers but meaningless to us buyers now. I've kept my best genuine ETA movement reps to remind me of a time when it mattered...... Edited October 26, 2012 by r11co
