Yeah not too bad, decent enough looking grain on it, for the price the watch isn't the worst monstrosity ever, the case is finished quite nice, it's very off but not exactly expensive...it may even be cheaper on silix, trevor, timeshops etc. ...............still in bad need of a better effort though! Now that the new gen ceramic PO is getting alot of attention and purchases in the gen market they are definitely taking notice of that, it would be a huge potential seller for them just like the old/current PO rep was/is. With the bond AT, it probably would never even be given a 2nd look normally but bond has a lot of pulling power so maybe one of the big factories will consider it....we should at least be some bit wiser by Christmas of this year if they like the look of the AT as a potential seller. In the opening setup shots he is definitely wearing the AT, he seems to then change to PO later on....similar exposure given to two watches in Casino Royale. Im a big fan of bond but i would buy the watch with out 007 markings after all would a secret agent have i his secret double O advertised on his wrist watch so his under cover status is useless does james bond wear a 007 logo omega in the movie ? I loved them on all the press shots when they were released, but when I tried one on I was utterly disappointed by this, otherwise a great watch, but too fat. Mid-size 8500 ATs are the perfect size, amazing movement, accurate and very rugged, great choice for Bond's watch! I really like the blue dial as well, not too dressy, a great addition to any wardrobe, very wearable for any occasion. I can absolutely relate to DC's objection to bigger watches, as far as I know he's a vintage Rolex collector, once you're used to smaller vintage watches, everything above 40-42mm tends to look ridiculously huge... 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

cougar1 Posted October 25, 2012 Report Share Posted October 25, 2012 Yeah agreed they missed a trick slightly with the heights/thickness of these 8500 PO's, people say it's necessary adjustement to fit the movement but that is not entirely true, the movement is chunkier than the 2500 but alot of the added thickness comes from the bezel height. No doubt they are great sellers already and they will be great sellers going forward but lots of people prefer the 2500 PO size/height. This could've been a true direct competitor to the Rolex sub, instead Omega turned it into SD/DSSD competitor. Not sure if we'll ever get a proper AT r11co, been bugging Angus about noob doing one, it's difficult to get info on the 8500 PO rep let alone an AT, I keep telling him they can't ignore it as it is the bond watch and will be a solid no nonsense seller, and when they've finished trying to get an sw200/a2824 to look like an 8500 for the PO, they can stick that one in an AT and double up the profits 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

In terms of accuracy it may as well have a DG2813. In fact , if it means they get it out quicker then they should bloody well put a 2813 in it..... . 'ETA clone' is just a price markup issue these days - good for profit for the sellers but meaningless to us buyers now.
