irolexu Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 I'll start off by apologizing for no pics my Internet is down and I am just to excited to hold this in. I just purchased a Rolex submariner 116610LN for 2700.00 I have more in my super franken then what I have in this watch! Here's the story. My friends dad walked out on his family and they got the safe open. They find this Rolex inside and my friend knew to call me to come look at it. Sure enough I look at it and its 100% real and they want to sell it for what ever I have on hand...I quickly pull out 2700.00 and its mine!!! WOW! Condition of the watch is a little rough and there is a company inscription on the back...(I need this removed) ill get pics before I sell this I am buying a lottery ticket tomorrow.......
mjmj Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 Nice one bruvva.. I look fwd to the pics.
irolexu Posted November 13, 2012 Author Report Posted November 13, 2012 Now should I sell my super franken and keep the gen? Decisions decisions
Guest zeleni kukuruz Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 Sell in mate NO need for the franken now!
hambone Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 Cool beans Bro! Nice deal. Enjoy your gen Rollie. There are deals to be had out there due to the times. Looking forward to seeing the pics.
sgtguk Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 Good on ya, great pick up and hey ......sell the franken
Watchmeister Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 Congrats. I had a similar happy surprise with a franken in hand and instantly opted to sell th franken. IMHO, a gen is a gen. Own it, treasure it and someday pass it on to your child.
mjmj Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 A gen purchased at a bargain is by far the best. I believe that you can always replace the item but you can never replace the bargain.
dieselpower Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 Definitely sell the franken. Well done by the way
kbh Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 Very lucky indeed. Just hope daddy doesn't come home looking for his personal belongings and call the cops. That could get ugly.
pilot Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 Amazing purchase! A great deal by anyone's standards. Im the UK and unfortunately, without the owner's consent, family or otherwise, that's an open shut case of 'theft by finding'. That said, I suspect the family know whether or not the guy's coming back! Enjoy it, great watch. P
hiker01 Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 Congrats! You're the only person I know walking around with $2700 in his pocket, what a coincidence?
HartDoc Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 I can't believe no one hasnt asked for the pics or it didnt happen
Ray T Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 if your friends dad ever wants it back, its as simple as a phone call to the police. good luck!! this is one of those grey areas that most would not tread into!
irolexu Posted November 13, 2012 Author Report Posted November 13, 2012 I like to think positive here and anyone want a 16610 super franken?
danielv2000 Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 How desperate were they for money? I mean, within 48 hours, they could have made an extra $2,000, easy! Just google local Rolex dealers? Wow! I need a find like this.
irolexu Posted November 13, 2012 Author Report Posted November 13, 2012 I think it was more of a personal matter and just wanted this watch gone and I was at the right place at the right time
dieselpower Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 Reminds me of the story of the woman who sold her husbands car on ebay for $10 or something. Don't know if it's true but I love stories like that.
irolexu Posted November 13, 2012 Author Report Posted November 13, 2012 Wow I know of a true story where my best friends dad sold his car which runs and drives for 80.00 dollars. The guy gets the car home calls and complains that the tires are not new...lmao the nerve
msp Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 (edited) 2700$ SAY WHAAAAAAT... Lucky chap Edited November 14, 2012 by msp
