kramerica2 Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 Sells as a gen, supposed to be from the 80s:
panerai153 Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 Nice rep. Crown too big. Looks like a 6mm, should be 5.3.
kramerica2 Posted January 24, 2013 Author Report Posted January 24, 2013 Are you sure about that? The owner seems like an honest man, and the asking price is reasonable for a gen. Do you see the difference between this watch and the watch over @chrono24? http://www.chrono24.com/en/rolex/gmt-master-2tone-black-nipple-dial-16753--id2203106.htm?manufacturerIds=221&picnum=0&referenceNumber=16753%24221&tab=pics&urlSubpath=%2Frolex%2Fref-16753.htm Thanks a lot..
kramerica2 Posted January 24, 2013 Author Report Posted January 24, 2013 It's probably gen, I gave the seller an offer that was only 100$ less than what he asked for and he said thanks, but no thanks. If it was a rep, he wouldn't have turned it down. It's still more than a reasonable price for that piece.
panerai153 Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 I will defer to you guys. For sure If he turned down an offer that close to the asking price, pretty sure it's real
Nanuq Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 Here's a picture of my 1675 from approximately the same angle as the first photo, so you can compare the crowns.
JoeyB Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 I think it is a genuine 16753. Correct hand stack for that model, 1st model to have the current hand stack. And 6mm crown would be correct too.
gavidoc Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 (edited) Nice rep. Crown too big. Looks like a 6mm, should be 5.3. Be careful only using a crown as judgement. It is possible to have a 6mm on a 16750 without modification to the crown guard opening. Looks real to me. Edited January 25, 2013 by gavidoc
imajedi Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 Why not just get a picture of the movement. At least then you know you're getting a gen movement.
alligoat Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 I'm with Joey on this- correct hand stack for a 16753, it's a gen
HartDoc Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 I say open the back and look at the movement ask also for the serial number to make sure the years match.
By-Tor Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 Why do you even question it?It looks all okay to me.
devilseam Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 Looks gen, I had a 16713 a couple of years ago. As others have said the hand stack is correct.
