That's really too bad. PayPal is definitely the 800 pound Gorilla when it comes to payment systems. With their relationship wifh Ebay, they feel like they control the money transfer market, which they do, now. Big problem for them though, in the world of the internet, it's darn hard to stay at the top of the heap, and when Amazon gets their system up to speed, Paypal is going to have a formidable opponent!!

Of course that doesn't solve the immediate problem, but whatever is decided, I will be behind it, and support the forum as always.

+1 to that. I may just be a newbie here however I'll support the forum whatever route Admin takes.

I just completed an Amazon payments transaction with one of our USA-based TD's.   So far so good.

Did both of you have Amazon Payments accounts?

Jmb: yes we both had accts with amazon. In fact I had to open an acct to complete the transaction. It was pretty simple to do.

Please don't go back to payza. Opening an account with them alerted the fraud protection office of my bank and they temporarily shut down my card.

The same thing happened to me. All I had to do was call the credit agent and tell them that it was OK to clear these charges, and to expect charges of $10 USD per month in the future, since it was a running membership fee.

Ezel I am aware of problems in the past encountered at other RWG and have spoken to there chief admin in regard to specifics. This has been being worked on guys the chief felt it was coming and we have discussed many options ,non to palatable at that time. We may have to revisit them. :pimp:

Come on guys, between all of us, we have more than enough business experience to help figure this one out.

For online payment systems surely we could utilise one (or more) of the following;

Authorize.net: http://www.authorize.net/

Google Checkout

Dwolla: https://www.dwolla.com/

Stripe: https://stripe.com/gb

Braintree: https://www.braintreepayments.com/

2Checkout: https://www.2checkout.com/

There are numerous possibilities. Granted not all of them will be feasible, but surely using an imperfect alternative is more suitable than RWG going down the pan...

And who says we must stick to only using one system. In the world of finance diversification equals safety. We tried putting all our eggs into the PayPal basket. Now we need to play the game smarter and be more adaptable to the changing payment world.

I am voting for you during the next Presidential election! Haha, bravo with the suggestion.

One would assume that many of the other payment methods will have similar rules to the main reason PP gave for closing the accounts, the nudity.

So shouldn't we be deleting all such threads?

I realise its a kick in the teeth and we shouldn't have to change anything, but if the choice is no nude pics anywhere or no RWG, the choice becomes obvious.

I second this proposal. We need to minimise the number of reasons (excuses) an online payment processing company can have to stopping us from using their service.

Sticking to our core purpose here will help ensure the longevity of the forum.

I'll just resort to using my vivid imagination for those other things ;-)

I don't think that limiting the content nude or other wise will change the issue with PayPal, PayPal is dead, what we need to find is a payment option that suits the majority of the members and can be automatically linked with the site.

Nudes or not our core subject is less than legal over most of the world

What I find surprising is that the other forums are not having the same problems

It is surprising that the others are not having any issues.

Has there been any progress of late in finding a suitable alternative payment option and is there anything us members can do to help the Team?

I feel like a spare appendage here, just hanging limply, unable to do anything.

If the team needs any help please ask and I'll do what I can on my end.

I'm sincerely hoping this issue gets resolved soon.

We should also have a contingency payment system pre-set with a different company for the future as this will undoubtedly not be the last time we have this issue.
