gioarmani Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 Here's a zip file of a mix-CD I put together, that we've been listening to lately. I think it puts one in the Christmas spirit, if you aren't already. I've tried to combine some lesser known songs that aren't played to death on the radio stations, and perhaps some you haven't heard before (or weren't necessarily assosiated with Christmas)--all in all, I think it works pretty well together. I've put them in MP3 format & uploaded it using Rapidshare, so just click the link below, then click "Free", then wait for the countdown, enter the code it gives you & d/l to your hard-drive. It is a zipfile, so you'll need WinZip (free internet d/l) on PC, or Stuffit on Mac to unzip the file. 20 tracks in all; I hope you guys & gals enjoy, and Merry Christmas! 1) The Christmas Song—Nat King Cole & Frank Sinatra 2) Good Morning Blues—Ella Fitzgerald 3) Christmas Time Is Here—Diana Krall 4) I’ve Got My Love To Keep Me Warm—Billie Holiday 5) Boogie-Woogie Santa Claus—Lionel Hampton Orchestra 6) Dig That Crazie Santa Claus—Ralph Marterie Orchestra 7) The Christmas Blues—Dean Martin Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas—Frank Sinatra 9) Carol Of The Bells (A Capella)—Boys Choir of Harlem 10) Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy (Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite)—The Philadelphia Symphony 11) Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!—Frank Sinatra 12) The Christmas Song—Nat King Cole, solo 13) Deck The Halls—Nat King Cole 14) O Little Town Of Bethlehem—Nat King Cole 15) I Saw Three Ships—Nat King Cole 16) Caroling, Caroling—Nat King Cole 17) Silent Night—Nat King Cole 18) Ave Maria—Luciano Pavaroti & Placido Domingo 19) Carol Of The Bells (Orchestra Version)—The Vienna Boys Choir 20) Ode to Joy (9th Symphony, 4th Movement, Ludwig Von Beethoven)—London Symphonic Orchestra http://rapidshare.com/files/5336331/Xmas_mix.zip.html

r11co Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 Considering your signature, I am surprised you didn't include Porky Pig's rendition of Blue Christmas.
jkerouac Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 Thanks very much. My wife was "volunteered" to help plan her company's Christmas party this year. She has been asking me to help her with music. I think your playlist is awesome, so I'll burn a copy for her.
gioarmani Posted November 29, 2006 Author Report Posted November 29, 2006 Cheers--thanks for the compliments all of you. Enjoy.
jonthebhoy Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 Many thanks - Excellent tracks! JTB

2005SUBMARINER Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 i like that heavy x-man jam from the trans siberian orchestra merry x-mas every one .
cornerstone Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 You've totally saved me a job I had to do for Xmas! Thank you!
ahchard Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 Thanks... nice... does the order of the songs have a sort of theme?? as in starting and ending the nite with particular songs to create a better mood? I downloaded it to my laptop... then burned it to a disc... however... i just dragged all the songs and they were not in order... now song 1 and song 4 are both the same song... the nat king cole and the duet with frank... so it sounds like i made a mistake and have 2 same songs... where in ur order...they are 10 songs apart so ppl would not feel it... might need to burn it again...
gioarmani Posted November 30, 2006 Author Report Posted November 30, 2006 No there's no intended particular theme, just came out jazzed it up a bit at the begining and went more classical towards the end.
puttputt Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 Wow, what a cool bunch of songs. Nice to have some XMAS tunes that are different from the ones you hear all the time. Great taste in music my friend. Thanks!
