Guys, I'm after a watch for my dad from mum, price range is about $150-$250

I showed her a few reps and she really likes the style of the montblanc time walker, so somethin that's similar to that.. Doesn't have to be an expensive brand, just a nice looking watch...

I would concur with the Seiko, can be had for around 250 USD, and a nice used one, look over on the WUS sales forum. Lots of nice Seikos for sale there and EBay.

Maybe a steel or tutone quartz Seiko, Citizen Eco-Drive, or Bulova Marine Star.

Believe it or not the newer stainless steel Timex quartz chronographs are Ok too.

Amazon has a load of medium priced watches to look at...

The average guy does not want the hassle of a mechanical watch.

But..................... Mechanical is so cool  B)

And on THIS forum mechanical is preferred!

I have had quartz watches, but none of them have EVER been keepers. It just gives me the "get it off, get it off, get it off!" feeling on my wrist.....

In the US, we have some small department type stores like Ross and Marshalls. They have nice kenneth cole, Guess, and other designer watches for the $100-200 price. They look classy and I've seen quartz and automatic watches.
