My MBW 1665 Great White; the one vintage MBW in my collection that has endured the course of time. One of my all time favorites... Great heft, wears nicely on the wrist and a pleasure to look at. Got some mods into this one... Of course, I must say that this watch has been my test platform for R&D, triala nd error, etc. The final list of mods is as follows... -MBW case, bezel, retaining ring -MBW dial -ETA 2846 slow beat movement -Watchmeisters vintage datewheel overlay -Genuine T-39 (flat) -Genuine bezel insert -Genuine vintage Triplock crown -Genuine tube -Genuine 580 ends -Genuine 78360 bracelet -Genuine 93150 clasp -Genuine springbars -Drilled lugs -Caseback paint removed Some eye candy... Genuine insert... Crown up... Only thing left to do really is shape the CG's better. BUt, I'm in no hurry Thanks for looking! MacDad22 Posted December 10, 2006 Report Share Posted December 10, 2006 Very nice watch-- a couple of questions as I have a WM great white 1665.. one I acquires a nive riveted rolex bracelet from our friend in the uk.. and also I have a knockoff superdome, but it looks nice.. after all the mods I did the damn bezel insert cost me the most. This one has been a long work in progress (they all seem to be, don't they?), and to have this one at the stage of completion as it stands now seems almost... Surreal Looks like I'll have to figure out a new project to start on Very nice watch-- I'm guessing the SD is not what would have been on the white 1665, but the bracelet might have been.. MacDad- The rivet 7206 bracelet is technically not correct for a great white, as great white production would have been well past the time of rivet Oysters. Rather, a heavy link Oyster (93150) is correct for that piece, as GW's were introduced in the late 70's; folded link (9315) and heavy links are correct for DRSD's with the rivets being more period correct for 5513's in the early to mid 60's era.
