ww12345
I may have a modder change the dial to a more textured finish and have them tint the lume while they're at it.
mrbobdobalina
Really enjoying mine so far. If I still have it after 6 months I will probably go for a relume also.

spazthecat
I may have a modder change the dial to a more textured finish and have them tint the lume while they're at it. I was thinking of adding more texture also. But, not sure how a little spray matte varnish will look. I need to find an old dial to test with. ww12345
Nice watch, bob, and nice picture! Yeah, I know hitting the dial with some matte varnish works, but I have zero experience doing it. I'll have to get some advice here on the forum before I go ahead. Also, the white lume is kind of growing on me...
508-Fanatic
I ordered mine from Andrew @ Trusty-Time. Today I noticed the "Se" in "Seamaster 300" on the back had wiped away, the Se is still there, engraved in, but the black is gone. So now I have an Omega "amaster 300" which is surely a very rare watch indeed lol.

ww12345
I couldn't take a macro shot to save my life, but I'll see what I can do.
luc717
Just spotted this two tone SS/RG version on Puretime. http://www.pure-time.com/product/seamaster-300-master-co-axial-liquidmetal-v6f-best-edition-rg-bezel-on-ssrg-bracelet-a8400/ At first I thought they had rounded the cut outs of the dial, but now not so sure. To me, the rep cut outs looked sharper (pointier) in the corners than the gen. But now I'm thinking that the shape is largely correct and it's just the loom behind the dial not being pressed right up against it that causes this effect. Anyone know what I mean? Would be very interested to see if it would be an easy mod to take the loom closer to the surface of the dial Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

mrbobdobalina
Neat article on the gen - copy and paste into new window to not refer http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/omega-develops-a-new-watchmaking-certification-standard-with-the-swiss-federal-institute-for-metrology I read that article earlier this week. That certification is a joke. I agree with most of the comments at the bottom of the article. Edited December 12, 2014 by mrbobdobalina

luc717
Yeah me too. Having to resist the urge to take the dial out on mine and see if I can improve the depth of the lume. Hoping they update it as I would definitely replace it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited December 13, 2014 by luc717
highoeyazmuhudee
snapped a pic at the AD in USVI gotta say in person the reflections coming off the liquid metal bezel insert are too flashy, i dont think this is a watch for me because of the bezel and how square the case is. mrbobdobalina
I like the watch but not enough that I would consider buying the Gen.
ww12345
Ironically, as a person who hates flashy watches, I really like this one. Even with the bezel being slightly too much, it's not that noticeable in person on the wrist. Actually one of the few recent pieces I would consider buying gen (once prices get to normal people levels). I just feel like they got everything right (except the SEL) in that the case is relatively well shaped and streamlined, the dial is legible and easy to read, and the case is pretty slim. Like I said, they hit the nail on the head with this one, and I'm normally a Rolex guy because Omegas are usually too ostentatious (with funky shapes and whatnot). Agreed entirely - when this thing is undoubtedly $2,500 to $3k in a year on the bay I will pick up the gen. They just don't hold their value like Rolex does, I sold my LV-Hulk for what I paid for it a year later to a dealer. It's a beautiful watch in my opinion and I'm a Rolex guy too, although not so much the modern ones.
derik429
Hey guys, I just ordered from Andrew and I didnt realize its a 216000bpm. Is this normal? is that what the gen is? Can someone chime in and help me out?
mrbobdobalina
21600 bph = 6 beats per sec. The gen CoAx movement = 7 beats per sec (25200 bph). Edited January 3, 2015 by mrbobdobalina
mrbobdobalina
I think the primary reason for using the Miyota 8215 in this watch is because of the movement decoration.
